Feb 27,2025Normally we would do all our own travel bookings but having wanted to visit Cuba for a long time we agreed that an agent was necessary. We spoke to a few about possible itineraries and Love Cuba were the most responsive and understood what we wanted. With their help we planned a private tour covering Vinales to Santa Clara, staying in casa as our preference. We did a fair amount of research ourselves in selecting accommodation to try to ensure they met our needs. I would ask the 1* reviewers if they bothered, as there is plenty of information if you look and if you don't then maybe it us partly your fault, especially if you expect 5*. This is Cuba! When it came to the holiday it was fantastic. Cuba is amazing. The countryside and architecture are stunning and the people so lovely and will try to help you even though the circumstances in the country can be terribly difficult. We had an issue in Mexico City airport when we were departing for Havana as we used travel cards as their use had been extended to end of June. We were flying on Jan 2, and the travel cards had been due to cease on Dec 31. Unfortunately Aero Mexico did not know this and initially they refused us check in. Love Cuba helped resolve the issue and we flew as planned, it was stressful though. In Cuba i was unwell one evening and everyone including Love Cuba were caring and helpful and did what they could to help which was very reassuring. Everything else is Cuba went to plan and Love Cuba were there when needed to speak to and all private transfers and hotels were as expected and on time. This is Cuba so expect a few delays or changes. We did have to change hotel at checkin in Cienfuegos, due to no electricity, but no problem and help offered with cases. Whilst unexpected, you need to be prepared for such things in Cuba, it is part of the charm, and if you approach the country with this in mind and that it is certainly not the hotel or peoples fault you will enjoy Cuba. The guides and drivers we were allocated by LoveCuba were excellent and they added a lot to our trip, especially as some of the roads have huge potholes and tou need to take your time getting to your destination. So do allow plenty of time for getting from A to B. We would certainly return to Cuba. We would use Love Cuba again. We would venture further to Santiago De Cuba whilst spending more time in some places we visited already. We would not stay in resorts in Cuba as that is not the real Cuba. We would go to Asia for 5* hotels. Enjoy Cuba for what it is, research what you want to see, do, eat and sleep as that will get you the best experience of this unique and wonderful country. Use Love Cuba to plan and enjoy your holiday as they have expert knowledge which you can benefit from, but own your holiday if you want the experience that is right for you.

Feb 23,2025Overall our holiday in Cuba was great Edwardo the lovecuba guide tour in Havana till Trinidad was great. He had addressed any issue raised by the group in friendly and professional manner as some of the issues were due to not given clear information in the itinerary sent to all of us but it was handled really well by Edward. He also did a bit extra by taking us for a night out in vinales which was very enjoyable and to see the night life of the place.
