Nov 20,2024We have received poor service throughout. We initially placed an order for some porcelain slabs. We ordered the slabs 3+ weeks before we needed them with a specific date to give plenty of time. The slabs weren’t here by mid day on the delivery day so I called. I was informed their systems hadn’t spoken to each other so the delivery wasn’t going to happen for another 48hours even though my money had been taken 3 weeks ago. As a customer I don’t think it is my issue if their systems don’t talk to each other. The slabs turned up 48hours later and they were all fine. I then needed to order 6 more slabs which I did they were due on a Thursday again I called mid day to be told that they were now not due until the Monday. (I had paid £65 delivery) All these delays have cost time and money. The slabs were delivered on the Monday two of them were broken right down the middle. I called and complained and asked for a refund on the delivery, I was told they would send me out two slabs this was at the start of October. I called early October to complain again as I have been in and out of the country. I was told the owner was dealing with my complaint I have heard nothing since. I run my own business so judge others on the standard we set ourselves, if this was the service that my company had provided I would be mortified, we would also be in front of the regulator. I have given up on this complaint being rectified hence the one star review.

Nov 20,2024Purchased 3 piece hearth and had a bit of a chew on due to first delivery being a country mile away in colour and texture between the 3 slabs. Two Matched and one was a mile off. Cut poorly causing nightmare for fitting. Hearth now has a 5mm joint to one side and a 3mm joint to the other. Had to travel to Hull from Newcastle Upon Tyne to sort out huge colour and texture difference in stone which I was told people want different shades (highly doubt it) and Id have to pay for another piece as mine was custom cut. Slight positive was the guy I dealt with in Hull (not the manager who was emailing me and phoning me) was brilliant and very helpful and did actually replace at no extra cost even though in an email they stated it could not be replaced due to being custom cut but wouldnt use again.

Nov 17,2024Team were very helpful when we visited(not local so quite a trek) Everything we needed to do 2 patios they provided. Just finished the main patio and the porcelain tiles (Galaxy Grey) are stunning. The cutting service is exceptional - everything was accurate. Once we knew the sizes and cuts we needed ordering online was quick and easy. Delivery was very professional.

The company that used the tile for our job were absolutely delighted with them . My wife and myself cannot thank Melton Stone enough for tiles and would have no problems in highly recommending . Nov 12,2024We found our dream porcelain tile for our new patio from Melton Stone. It was called 'Galaxy Grey' and when we saw them, we called up to enquire. The phone was answered immediately and we were advised to come and have a look, (or they would send out a sample, if we preferred). We went to see them and found lots of tiles and stones on display and a very friendly team. It was nice to have the opportunity to see and feel them before making the purchase. We bought 2 pallets of patio tiles, with all the accessories of grout and levelling caps/screw bases, for a price we found competitive and reasonable. It was very helpful to get it all from one place. The order was delivered exactly on the day we asked for it and the tiles look fab! We have just placed another order for the galaxy tiles in Black from Melton Stone, this time for the front of the house. We can't wait to receive them. We would highly recommend Melton Stone to anyone wanting to buy from them.

Nov 12,2024I found Melton Stone a very friendly & easy company to deal with. I got exactly what I ordered and at the agreed date. My order was Vals Anthracite porcelain. The quality was absolutely superb. Just be careful when unpacking from pallet. Note which way the slabs are leaning & put some sand bags or similar against them so that when the straps are cut they don’t come crashing down.

Nov 04,2024I couldn’t be happier with the product itself and the initial price of £450 per pallet (40 slabs). This works out at £21.60 per m2. However when I went back to purchase more slabs I was appalled to learn that they only sell single slabs at full price of £34 each. The website states that they sell the product per m2 and there is no indication whatsoever that if you require single slabs then you will be charged at a higher rate. So 12 extra slabs cost me £222. The reason I was given for this is that they have to break into a full pallet to accommodate giving single slabs out. The pallet I bought my 12 extra slabs from was already broken into. So just beware of this if you go to purchase.

Oct 26,2024Leaving a genuine balanced review. Firstly the service was good and the stone I ordered was generally good quality. The price was also reasonable. The order was Indian sandstone. Having received one good pallet I ordered a second to finish the job. The second was discounted as part of their winter sale, as was the first, and it was noted that these may need a good clean as they’d been sat outside, something you would expect on stone really, and clearly you’d clean fully before sealing etc. however a fair number of the blocks were so badly stained, any attempt to clean them up failed. I reached out to Melton to explain but despite explaining these wouldn’t clean up, they just told me to scrub them with soapy water, something I’d already tried. Would I use again, probably not now. Looking at all the reviews, I think most of the time you’d be ok with this company, but if something isn’t right not sure they are that open to sorting, read the reviews for yourself and make your own judgement. Oct 23,2024Ordered stone easily for our fireplace, updates and a time frame for delivery. Once delivery was on the date of arrival the driver called an hour before delivery as stated in the emails. Friendly delivery driver and good product.

Oct 22,2024Avoid, if anything goes wrong they don't wan't to help. Bought a last pallet that had 8 of the 60 porcelain pavers cracked and severely chipped on delivery. Three failed delivery days, just didn't turn up. They basically said there was nothing they could do. They refused a refund or return. I turn up at their site office and only with persistence get some replaced. Awful service.
