Nunton Steadings Built way back in the 1700s, the beautifully historic Nunton Steadings building is the place we call home. Situated in Benbecula, right at the heart of island life, it’s where we proudly bring Whisky production back to our islands. Currently under restorations work, our B-listed building is undergoing some loving attention to bring it back to bustling island life. Nov 25,2023John N -I visited with friends for a Gin Tasting which was as arranged for us although the Sessions had been discontinued over the winter period.We got a tour of the premises including a detailed account of the history of Nunton Steading building which can be traced back to the 1700’s. We then had the Gin Tasting with the various gins and added botanicals very well explained by the guide (unfortunately name escapes).The group and I very much enjoyed the sampling and appreciated the thought and professionalism involved in producing the products -while my friends had their own favourites I have to single out the Negroni but all products were quite exceptional.As me and friends will be having regular visits to Uist the Distillery will always be on the “must visit” list.

Nov 20,2023We were thrilled to visit the beautiful Nunton venue a few months ago after reading about Downpour gin online since the distillery began & we bought the Sloe & Bramble gin back home to Australia, after trying the full range in various bars & restaurants in Scotland. The Slie & Berry gin is delectable, superb on ice, or as the basis of a sloe gin negroni (amazing!). The bottle is nearly empty! So hoping that it becomes available in Australia soon! Cheers, Akkadia

We have been lucky enough to visit the Uist Distillery where this is made, when visiting friends. Small batches of island made Gin, which is so delicious. Each delivery comes with a hand written note, which I find is just a fabulous touch. Highly recommend supporting this rural business. ☺️
