Occam Defense Solutions Inc. was born out of a desire to make simple, reliable, and practical weapons for the American Rifleman. We look for real problems and design elegant solutions for them. Our name comes from the scientific principle of Occam’s Razor: “All things being equal, the simplest answer is the correct one”.
ODS is located in Idaho– one of the most free states in the union. We love liberty, and firmly believe that individual access to quality weapons supports liberty on a personal and national level.

Jan 03,2021Great idea and fantastic for traveling and field operations. Small, simple, leak proof were the big three I was looking for and this delivered on all aspects. Only concern, the lube I used (Hoppes 9) warped the smaller plastic applicator syringes. I'm sure it's because of the chemical composition, and there was probably a warning that I didn't see. The warp is not large and does not make them unusable.

Dec 02,2020I purchased this handguard for a custom build on a Sharps Bros 1913 milled receiver with a FN AK barrel. I had to round the top corner of the receiver on opposite side of the ejection port for the handguard to fit without pressing against each other. Other then that with my custom build it is a perfect fit and the whole gun feels solid like one solid piece. The heat management is pretty good. It got pretty warm after going through two 30 round magazines quickly but I could still hold it with my bare hands unlike a few other metal handguards I've tried. Overall I love this Handguard, my AK feels a bit more modernized and I have more options of what I can use on my AK with the m-lok rails. Occam shipped my order extremely fast and the packaging to protect everything was a step above the rest. I truly thank Occam Defense for thinking out of the box and making this Handguard, fit and finish is amazing.

Nov 02,2020I owned a WASR-10 AK as my first AKM and it was a good rifle, and I learned a lot about the little issues with an AK rifle, updated several items, lots of $ and little improvements I'm a youtuber, and stumbled on some of the ODS videos, then learned about the new made in the USA AK rifle being produced, and jumped to make the deposit, receiving ODS 1775 rifle # 0099 WOW, the weight, detailed finishing, MERC hand guard / optic mount, custom trigger (which I swear is 2 lbs, and I love), and the function of the gas system working with the bolt, loading the round, and cycling through discharge is a completely different world than the WASR10 Add a Ryker Grip, and oh man is the ODS 1775 sssmmmooottthh, and AR fans fell in love with the operation smoothness and accurracy 100% so I ordered the ODS 1775 pistol and can not wait to take these 2 rifles out for some training classes thank you so much for the excellence in communication and patience with my shipping issues I have learned a TON from the videos, other social media posts, and using the ODS 1775 and plan on continuing to purchase, push to friends and family :-), and support in any way possible. Made in the USA is worth supporting 100%

Oct 28,2020I chose the Occam RST over any other option to mount a red dot optic on my AK pistol. I like the simplicity of the picatinny rail machined right into the RST and that it has a sight notch to aim through through if you don’t happen to have an optic mounted. The quality of my RST was perfect.

Mar 02,2021So far website has be easy to navigate and seems to accurately reflect the items in stock. Shipping has always been handled quickly. I know someone who swears by Occam Defense. Right now I'm just waiting for the completion of my project so I can get out and try it out. I trust my person who swears by it so I've got high expectations! My guess...not likely to disappoint!
