Occam Defense Solutions Inc. was born out of a desire to make simple, reliable, and practical weapons for the American Rifleman. We look for real problems and design elegant solutions for them. Our name comes from the scientific principle of Occam’s Razor: “All things being equal, the simplest answer is the correct one”.
ODS is located in Idaho– one of the most free states in the union. We love liberty, and firmly believe that individual access to quality weapons supports liberty on a personal and national level.

Jun 08,2021Excellent product at a fair price. Note: A fair price isn't the cheapest nor is it the most expensive. It is a price you can accept for the excellent qualities of the entire MERC system, very well thought out and finely made along with the outstanding customer service from OD. I have never seen a product so well packaged for shipping and then all the SWAG on top of it!!!!! I have bought from OD before and will continue to do so as I highly encourage my customers to consider the MERC HG system or the RST for any custom AK work. Thank you and keep up the good work!!!

May 30,2021I purchased the razor 8” strut with picatinny folding hinge and brace assembly. A perfect fit for my Arsenal Sam7k-44 AK pistol. After weeks of shopping around and pricing separately, you can’t beat function,fit and finish of this product! Customer service was absolutely amazing with all my questions. Mar 18,2021I ordered the DIY Kit. Would recommend spending the extra couple of dollars. This product has worked very well. Not a single oil leak since my purchase and i like the precision applicator tip. They also sent me an extra set of "sleeves" of a new material they were testing which was slightly better in my opinion. Also, the lube/protectant I use has the same threads as the filling syringe so the filling process is even easier for me. The only thing I wasnt a fan is the packaging. I'm one of those people that like to store things in the original packaging. This is really a non-issue and they pass the savings of cheaper packaging to the customer. Shipping time was very quick and I'm proud to reccommend this product. Good job Occam!

Mar 11,2021I was looking for a simple minimalist solution to carrying and applying lubricant to both my knives as well as riffles and guns in the field away from my house and logistical center. I was looking for minimalistic gun cleaning kit for my survival kit and BOB. Something that is small and takes no space but something which could be applied with ease. The OCCAM defense lubricating system fits the bill and is exactly what I have been looking for. It is alittle pricey but for that simple and minimal lubricant and application system for a BOB is the best solution so far. And there is no fuss when you have to clean your guns in the field. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something simple.
