Occam Defense Solutions Inc. was born out of a desire to make simple, reliable, and practical weapons for the American Rifleman. We look for real problems and design elegant solutions for them. Our name comes from the scientific principle of Occam’s Razor: “All things being equal, the simplest answer is the correct one”.
ODS is located in Idaho– one of the most free states in the union. We love liberty, and firmly believe that individual access to quality weapons supports liberty on a personal and national level.

Sep 03,2021Very good Hand Gaurd overall, one annoying thing is attaching Mlok rails onto the Hand gaurd due to very tight spacing because of the heatshield and top rails due to gas block system is very tight.

Aug 30,2021I've had the rs regulate and the slr handguard on my ak's and yes, they're very nice but the merc tskes it to the next step. With it's free floating design along with the built in heatshield and amount of real estate for accessories make it the best handguard on the market for the akm platform by far.

Aug 29,2021Occam and crew are nothing short of amazing! The only thing that tops their quality products, is their quality customer service. I had some questions and they responded quickly and followed up regularly if there was any delay to let me know they were still working on it. They went out of their way to have somebody do up a drawing specific to my question. One response advised that if I had further questions to call and ask someone specifically to interrupt them so they could talk me through it. I wish I was rich so I could buy everything that Occam puts out.

Jul 07,2021My experience with ODS has been phenomenal. From their outstanding communication throughout the build to their follow up after my FFL transfer, it has been nothing short of professional. I have run about 300 rounds through my rifle and worked up hand loads for 123gr Spitzer that are consistently grouping around 1" at 100m with three shot groups off a bench with rear support. Of course, accuracy is a reflection of the build quality: excellent.
