Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

They are pragmatic, well organised and personable. Particular thanks should go to Kiera, whose empathic and calm approach made this rather stressful purchase much less so. Top set of people, thoroughly recommend.

Jul 07,2024I have recently sold a number of properties through Ocean in Bristol - using both the Southville and Knowle branches. In each case the sales team have very actively marketed the properties, generating a considerable number of viewings which have led to strong offers in a short period of time. Throughout the initial sales process the agents were comprehensive in their reporting of the offers and on the situation of each of the potential buyers. On accepting the offers the sales process was passed on to a Move Manager who kept things moving along. This combined with using the in-house legal team led to a very slick and integrated operation. An online portal and regular reports kept me up to date with how each sale was going. Overall the process was faultless and a credit to all involved.

A small team sold the house as opposed to an individual agent but it worked well, one came out to meet us, two others did the viewings and then the 4th person made sure everything ran smoothly post offer. It was really valuable having a dedicated person to chase agents, solicitors and other parties. Offer received for full asking price within 3 weeks of going on the market.
