Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Jul 22,2024Edit: I have just read Ocean’s reply to my review. The agency outright refused to manage any issues as I was no longer a client. I would have happily deposited funds with them had I been given the option. Original review: Letting the property with Ocean was fine, but the management of the property left a lot to be desired. Ocean do not vet their contractors properly, nor do they check the quality of the work. I paid £10,000 to have a house redecorated and when I complained about the work done the management team refused to visit the property to inspect it. As a result I found a new agent to let and manage my properties. The last property with Ocean was vacated today and the tenants have left a lot of issues. Ocean is refusing to deal with the issues because they no longer “manage” the property. Very unethical and money-grabbing company.

Jul 22,2024Louise Studley is the answer to what makes our experience of Ocean Lettings excellent: diligent in the everyday nitty-gritty of household issues. So if there was an issue of something needing fixing, she is there immediately organising the fixing of it. Louise is also happy to negotiate new contracts, acting fairly but impartially between landlord and renter. We can't thank her and Ocean Lettings enough. This is for the whole period from September 2023 to July 2024

London leases are not easy but to be honest, I cannot believe the service I got from Linda and her team. She went beyond any expectation to get my sale through. The Conveyancing Team were also extremely efficient and again Communication was excellent. Would definitely recommend. Another bonus was having the Estate Agent and the Conveyancing in the same building.

Luigi was my mortgage advisor and he did an amazing job! He was incredibly diligent throughout the whole process, always available to discuss any questions I had and made the entire process as seamless as possible. As a first-time buyer, this experience was quite daunting so I was very grateful to have one less thing to worry about and I really felt that Luigi made the entire process as easy and straightforward as possible, I could not recommend Ocean more!!
