Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Jul 30,2024Jemima & James @ Ocean have been absolutely fantastic in the whole process of both offering and moving me into my new rental property. From the very beginning I met James who showed me around the property which I literally fell in love with immediately and expressed my interest in securing it. James was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the process and came back to me so quickly with the offer. I wanted to move in quickly and both James & Jemima did their best to meet my date requirements which was fantastic. They both went above and beyond with my additional requests. The process was pretty smooth considering I am new to the rental market. Upon handover I met Jemima for the first time. What a lovely young lady! She was so friendly, understanding and knowledgeable and explained everything on the move date. There were lots of follow up calls to check in on me and any issues have been picked up immediately for resolution. I cannot thank these guys enough for such a lovely experience. I love where I live and am really happy. I would love to deal with them again, if only everyone was this helpful. Thanks guys you are both amazing!

Jul 30,2024Ocean have earned their money from us - we have been selling my Mum's house for over a year and it completed last Friday on the 3rd sale. A bumpy ride at times, but house selling is a stressful process. Some personalities at Ocean easier to deal with than others, but the contacts we eventually worked with were really friendly and helpful and gave the impression they genuinely cared. A special mention to Nicola the 'Move Manager'. I was sceptical to start with, but what an asset she was. She kept everything moving along with the sale, quickly chasing up any tardiness. It was encouraging to have someone to regularly check in with, especially when not much seemed to be happening. But we got their in the end - thank you.

I didnt have to worry about a thing and it was great to have these matters taken care of for me. Highly recommended!

Mel and Mike were fantastic in terms of their communication and ensuring that everything was done properly and in the right order. This includes everything from viewings, offers, communications with the seller and Ocean Conveyancing who handled the legals, and everything else. A special mention is due to Mel for always being there to answer questions, communicate with the seller and being the absolute consummate professional at all times.
