Holidays for Mature Solo Travellers

A family-run company, One Traveller was started in 2007 by a highly experienced Tour Manager who specialised in escorting solo travel holidays. One Traveller has since gained a reputation as the UK’s number one singles holiday specialist for the over 50s and has won multiple publicly-voted awards.

Organisation spot on. Tour guide very knowledgable and friendly. Good hotels . Good company . Fantastic scenery and architecture / culture.
Well organised
They look after mature travellers very well, nothing is too much for the tour manager. Good standard of hotels and food. Probably the content of tours etc are too much and add unnecessarily to the cost. I would like ‘a day off’ sometime.
Well organised
A well-organised holiday with likeminded companions in relaxing circumstances
Has become too difficult getting to uk hotels so will stick to overseas with One Traveller. 8 was too few people on a tour. Sadly it was the first tour manager I’d had who didn’t really mix with group he seemed to just sit with his mobile all the time. The hotel was amazing and so were the staff there and also the food.
As an 87 year old lady I was rather anxious about flying abroard. I shouldn't have worried as from the moment i was picked up by the taxi service at home i was looked after really well. The tour leader was so kind and helpful. The staff on the boat were amazing and the food was brilliant.
My recent holiday to Madeira was very well planned. Lovely hotel, great excursions and ably looked after by our Tour Manager Jayne. The local guides were excellent and informative. My first visit to this beautiful island and I enjoyed every minute.
Magical Madeira. The variety of activities was lovely, A wonderful chance to see this very beautiful island. The Local tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful. It was one of my favourite holidays.
Great country, great company and great tour guide. The food, wine and scenery were good too!
The local guide was fantastic, the guide who travelled with us from London, not so good. There was a bit of friction between them and I felt it could have been improved if the English guide actually communicated to the local guide in advance rather than correct her.
A fantastic holiday experience – for anyone with an interest in nature this is definitely one for your bucket list. Great itinerary, tour leader and expert guides – thoroughly recommended.
The tour guide was very good in her role..The itineray was very good for each day. The hotel was excellent and the food was very good. I particularly liked the visits to the villages, where we were given information about its history.
This was my first holiday with One Traveller although I have travelled with other solo travel companies before. I have to say that I was so impressed, from the tour manager Serena who accompanied us to the local guide Ahmed nothing was too much trouble. The itinerary was great with some downtime to relax and enjoy our surroundings and the standard of our hotels was superb. I am now busy planning my next trip!
Excellent local guide. Holiday made less pleasant by a few very selfish and unpleasant individuals.
Showed concern about our comfort. Well looked after all the time.
Unfortunately on the first day of my holiday I tripped on an uneven pavement leaving the airport resulting in a visit to the hospital in Sorrento. I cannot fault the help I received from Jonathan Clarke the tour manager, the hotel staff and the hospital. Although my activity was somewhat restricted on some of the outings it was still an enjoyable holiday especially the temples at Paestum, the Amalfi Coast drive, Sorrento and Pompeii. Jonathan was always there to help all members of the group. The hotel Bristol had spacious rooms, delicious food, spectacular views and delightful staff.
The hotels and all of the arrangements for the whole tour were excellent and there was a good variety of experiences in all 3 countries. For me, the highlight was Patagonia. The scenery is amazing and One Traveller presented us with opportunities to see the glaciers close to. We also stopped frequently at view points and walked to see waterfalls and observe the wildlife. The one problem was that there was far too much food - two 3 course meals a day is too much.
