They quickly respond to any requests and concerns I have regarding projects, and their intuitive platform makes it easy for me to keep track of all my designs. Jan 05,2023I decided to try Penji to offload the design burden I've had to handle myself for other businesses I started. This is what I've learned about Penji as a seasoned designer trying to breathe: To be successful with the basic Penji plan, you need to understand 2 things. 1. Penji, as they explain themselves, are NOT mind readers. You need to know exactly what you want AND how to properly describe it to the designer. You need to be comfortable doing research AND creating reference materials for DOs and DO NOTs. The research I did and the references I provided got us on the right track quickly and I was amazed at how quickly the designer nailed the brief. 2. You need to be okay with every change taking one day and demanding your time and attention. You'll never get a change back the same day. If you are in a rush, Penji is not for you. One added note: i was pleasantly surprised that you can have as many projects going as you want... you just can't start them all at once. When they finish something on one... they move to the other. The one active project at a time thing is misleading (not sure why) but in a good way. I'm glad that I can do 5 new projects and have them all coming back to me day by day out of sync. This helps a lot with reducing the queue. I would recommend Penji to any creative that has clear vision and ability to describe what they want and has the time to document what they want and respond to revisions. Further, I would assure any creative that was skeptical like I was that you ARE NOT stuck with stock illustrations and templates as I assumed but the designers can freely modify anything you ask for. They are not production designers. They are in fact artists and skilled design staff. This is a huge win. Penji is friendly, informative, and detailed in their communication. You ask, they deliver. I needed a vector deliverable sent as individual SVGs and not AI. They did it the next day. I am hoping to use Penji more and more and I am able to direct the creative but not execute it and increase the workload my company can handle once we use Penji for clients and not our own internal needs. Penji's price and value are very competitive. I appreciate Penji's proprietary software for managing things... even if there are some typos here and there ;)

Nov 30,2022I've been with Penji for about 9 months now. Their customer support is fantastic, and the designers are great. When a designer doesn't meet your expectation, they quickly resolve it and add a new designer to your project. I was struggling to find a great designer for my agency. I tried several from Fiver, UpWork, and other freelancing sites, but none of them did the work to our standards... Not until I found Penji. I was initially skeptical because I always thought having a personal graphic designer would be better, but I haven't been able to beat the quick turnaround time and the quality of work for the same price. So I definitely recommend their service if you want quality designs at an affordable price.

Nov 23,2022Disaster of an experience. Comparing for 2 weeks side by side with Design Pickle, same "Pro" plans. After 2 weeks we've received 8 fully completed projects from Design Pickle and we've received 2 fully completed projects from Penji. Exact same projects. We paid extra for the "daytime" plan with Penji that advertises "same day turnaround", but not once did we receive daytime output or a same day turnaround. When we contacted customer support about it, they were confused then figured out that our plan didn't show 'daytime' so they had to fix it in their system. Next, the 'disaster' of the experience is that the designers don't fully read your very detailed scope of work, and deliver projects missing key elements. Then, when you point that out, it becomes a 'revision' that they fix and deliver the next day, or the next, or the next, so at this rate you get one delivery in a week, where Design Pickle got it right the first time, or, when they didn't, they at least checked back for comments and fixed things right away. Designers on Penji (a) never check in to tell you they've read a comment (b) deliver the project with errors at the very end of the work day then (c) vanish not to be heard from again until the next day, where they make another delivery with an error. Finally, to confirm the full level of disaster, we escalate an urgent request to "support" to have a delivery with an error fixed, they put a new designer on it, who, although they fix a typo delivers a completely different project, missing half of the animated elements from the first designer. So they fixed one thing but broke the rest of it. Guess what? We'll now wait another day for them to read about this mistake... and it goes on and on and on. The problem with Penji is (a) designers don't read (b) they deliver half baked goods daily and count each minor fix another day's revision (b) you can't talk to anyone realtime or even know if they see your comments, except ONCE A DAY in batches. You type something, they don't read it until the next day, make a flawed delivery, and then vanish again. Dividing our monthly payment for the service, we've now paid $500 for 2 designs that we could have got for $80 on Fiverr. Design Pickle has real time communication with not only the designers, but team leads and others, so you can communicate throughout the day and stay on top of things. A message to Penji goes unanswered and there is no real time collaboration. They advertise a method to "switch designers" but the feature doesn't actually exist in the platform. In short, their front end website looks slick, but the backend system is a disaster. As much as I want to like Penji, Design Pickle is the clear winner in every aspect so far.

In the past year, Leira worked closely with to create new visual identities for our annual meeting, leadership academy, leadership institute, and lab week run, in addition to updating multiple logos for our state chapters. Leira listens carefully to our needs and ideas and always comes up with multiple concepts that address everything we discussed. The hardest part is choosing the best design among his wonderful design concepts! Leira, and Penji, are very professional, works quickly, and communicate clearly. As competitors began to enter our market, we realized that competing on features and technology was not working. I was brought in to help with positioning, messaging, and upgrading how we went to market. When I came in, we had just acquired a few different companies and they were having a hard time stitching the story together of who their company had become and where they were going as a business. I started with a positioning exercise that led me to contact Penji to help with defining our main unified branding that we could communicate internally and externally based on who we were targeting.They’re wicked smart and they have a really great deep level of exploration on our projects. For example, the Penji Graphic Designteam was initially supposed to be used solely by our paid advertising team, but now has been used by so many other departments, to the benefit of our company, making the most of our annual subscription.

However, developing a healthy and successful virtual company is difficult because of all the work and time it takes. Many of us hire virtual assistants who can be given essential tasks depending on their strengths and talents. I had a wonderful experience with a VA; she was competent and showed outstanding professionalism in her work. However, the expenses are significant, and we don't always get a return on investment. That's when Penji came to my rescue. One of my business coaches introduced me to Penji, and it has been fantastic; you may allocate as many projects as you want for a fixed price. In just two weeks of usage, I've completed three jobs that would have taken triple the time and more money if I had done them on my own.
