I had a wonderful experience from the beginning of the house search to the acceptance point with both Abbeygail and Mohammed being professional, friendly, polite and helpful. DO NOT USE PLACEFIRST TO RENT YOUR HOUSE!!! Awful company, don't care about the residents. To even a contact about the complains from the neighbours next door. Flimsy walls, cold houses without doors. Bad neighbourhood
Absolutely shocking company Absolutely shocking company, do not use them. My best friend is being evicted through no fault of her own. Place first said she needed a guarantor in order to rent a property with them. I have an excellent credit score so I offered to be her guarantor. I spent 3 hours completing forms and sending pay slips, only to be declined! When I asked why? They said to speak to the credit checkers, the credit checkers said all they do is down load from Experian and send over. It isn’t their decision to say yes or no! I have a top rating on Experian! Placefirst a lady called Liz incredibly rude kept saying she didn’t like my tone of voice but wouldn’t tell me why my guarantor application was declined. Apparently if they have someone else they prefer they use the guarantor as a reason to decline. The credit checker company told me this. Outrageous customer service. Still waiting for a manager to call me back. Meanwhile my best friend is still being made homeless. What is the world coming to when these companies want to play GOD! Plus £1150 rent for a small semi because they can! Email reply back from Abbygail Payne telling me to repeat the call back to the credit checkers if I want answers! I thought legally under the GDPR you maintain the rite to explanations? Also they have illegally taken a holding fee for this property and are now refusing to pay it back!
12 months living in HELL. Property manager DAVE never contacted me after my complains. Dishonesty and lack of responsibility. Just tried to force me to stay 12 more months. No Thanks.

Pros and cons This is my honest pros and cons list: pros: - The houses are beautiful - They are pet friendly - The neighbours are lovely and I love the community here - The housing manager is great and goes above and beyond his job description to help, but he does not always get informed about changes form the higher-ups, more about that in the con list - We had a lot of anti-social behaviour and crime issues such as opportunity theft in the area, which improved massively thanks to a lot of community, council and police engagement. Cons: - Placefirst could and in my opinion should have done more to help with the issues of anti-social behaviour and crime. They did add some lighting and cctv but there is police advice which was not followed yet. - When we moved in a rolling contract was an option, that’s no longer the case, they got replaced by fixed term contracts. Furthermore this change came about in very unfortunate circumstances: We were told upon request that we are not due for review, which meant we were not due for a rent increase or a new contract. Suddenly we get a rent increase and an offer for a yearly contract, when we asked our housing manager about it, we learned that they have not been informed about this. - Moving on from my previous point, in our case a contract renewal (and the increase that came with it, twice so far since moving in) is not linked to our moving-in date. The first increase happened Dec. 2022 we moved in May 2022, we then assumed that another renewal (and a potential further increase) would therefore be due in Dec. 2023, which is why we requested early to hear about what’s coming to be able to make a decision as to what’s best for us. We then received the latest increase in March, with very little time so we feel that we didn’t really have many options as to what to do. And again only a yearly, or after a conversation, a half yearly contract was possible. Needless to say that our trust is gone. (This is the reason for the 2 stars only) - Maintenance can be difficult, issues take most often too long to get resolved, and more often than not multiple repair attempts are required to get things fixed. Most of the time this only happens correctly once the housing manager gets involved, who again, goes above and beyond to help which I appreciate a lot
Just to appreciate the high level of service being rendered by Placefirst, especially by Dave and Liz. I enjoyed a lot of support from these two. Liz always answered my questions pleasantly, even when it had to be repeated because I forgot something.....lol. Dave was really kind to let me wait inside the house to, while waiting for my Uber. It was really cold that day, and I'm new in the country. So, a big thanks to you all. Best wishes
I have been trying to get a property with place first now for about a year. They are very high demand and stunning properties so to be accepted for one is amazing. The process from viewing it to move in date was very fast and the team have been extremely helpful. Looking forward to move in and rent with them.
I absolutely love my home. The team are great and customer service is excellent. I had a small problem with one of the radiators not heating up properly which I reported and an engineer was sent out within 2 hours of reporting the problem and it was fixed. Absolutely outstanding service !!!
Almost zero response to emails. They tried (unsuccessfully) to take all bar £38 from my security deposit, claiming they needed to spend the remainder on cleaning and redecoration. I was only there 12 months! Opened up a dispute with TDS and they gave me another £886 back! In my honest opinion based on my experience with them they are not great landlords. Would never rent from them again, ever!
Sheryl Ainsworth is an asset to the company and has helped me believe in the company, her actions speak louder than words and has gone above and beyond for me to help and support in resolving issues. How Sheryl works is exceptional customer service. Thank you for everything. All the workmen who attend your home are amazing, friendly and committed to resolving the issues.
I have been renting for nearly 10 years now with Placefirst and they have always gone out of their way to ensure the house has been in good repair and helping me with any issues. They put a lot of other landlords to shame. Special mention to Sheryl Ainsworth who has also helped me with landlord references for my wife’s visas and helped solved any issues that have come up when living in Woodnook.
I was a tenant between December 2021, until October 2023. In my time there the team were usually very responsive to emails, and they were extremely helpful during the moving out process. The houses and garden areas are well maintained. I was sad to leave but had to move for personal reasons.
Dave, the property manager, has been AMAZING!! He has made our experience at Scholars View such a great one. He has gone above and beyond to make sure everything was completed before we moved in. Placefirst was also exceptional in getting correspondence answered and also supplying us with any information we needed. The approval process was easy and fast. I would recommend anyone to rent from them.
I am so pleased with the work what as been carried out it looks amazing I am really happy ... evolution was amazing I didn't feel stressed at all... They updated me every night on what was happening next. Simone she was lovely checking in to make sure I was oki and to see the work being carried out I would 100% recommend placefirst also evolution team also the other contractors what placfirst has used
Just can share my comment about our letting process. We are looking forward to move our new house in couple of days. Since we moved to UK as a family, looking for a three bed family house in Liverpool more than 6 weeks. Was a stressful experience until we found this property and move forward with it. PlaceFirst responding very fast. Our first viewing appointment at the Welsh Streets was very easy to setup. And after we decided to move forward, too many kind and helpful calls and emails to smooth the letting process. Very good web portal to complete the forms and upload the documents. Outstanding service we received. Thank you.
I have reported a broken toilet on my top floor 4 times and NO ONE has contacted me. WHY,I thought the company cared about their tenants.
I’ve rented a beautiful house with Placefirst and I’m so excited to move in. Mia has been so helpful and explained everything. The agent was also really helpful and knew everything about the house and the area. I’m super excited to move in now.
