Oct 25,2021Absolutely dreadful! I booked in advance for a taxi at 11pm in the middle of nowhere. The first taxi that arrived suddenly drove off just as my son was walking towards it and the second one that they said they would send never arrived. They were rude and unpleasant on the phone too. Avoid at all costs!

Sep 13,2021Very disappointed I have waited for 35 min and they never arrived, I ended up phoning another taxi company . I called them to explain the situation and to make a complaint, and they have told me to speak to the manager and when I asked them to talk to him they advised me to use the website to make a complaint. I would not recommend anyone to use royal cars.

Aug 27,2021Was told taxi would be 5 mins. Rang up a few times after the 5 minutes as the taxi still didn’t arrive and each time a rang I was told 5 mins. Nearly an hour after first ringing to book the taxi, it arrived. The taxi driver was polite and friendly and apologised for the wait.

Jun 14,2021Absolutely disgusting service. I phoned at 11.00am and booked a Taxi for 11.40 am. It did not turn up till half an hour later at 12.10 pm. This was not the first bad experience I've had with this cowboy company. I will be getting on to the relevent council department that are responsable for renewing their operating licence every year, and informing them just what a disgusting unreliable service they offer. hopefully they will not renew their licence, and we'll get a better reliable service instead.

Apr 23,2021Terrible experience this afternoon (5.20pm from White House) Booking was good and we were given a rough price guide on the phone but as soon as we got in the car the driver started asking how much we had been quoted and that it would cost more, no pleasantries, very rude. He tried to take a wrong turning in what was a fairly direct route, we both followed Google. He then started driving very slowly. We had a really enjoyable day but very disappointed with our taxi journey back.

Apr 15,2021My boyfriend and I got stranded late at night miles away from home near Tunbridge Wells. Royal Cars were fantastic - punctual, flexible, fairly-priced, lovely driver, clean and comfortable car. Couldn't fault them. Big thank you to Royal Cars!!!

Apr 10,2021Constantly make you late for work, never on time, always lie to you on the phone, what’s the point in setting pick up times if you never turn up at that time, avoid at all costs worst taxi company by far ! Last time I’ll be using your appalling service !!

Mar 12,2021AVOID USING ROYAL CARS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!! We booked Royal Cars to take our 3 daughters back to boarding school as we were away, and ‘Green Cars’ (who are amazing) were not available. Royal Cars were advised that the girls had several cases plus bedding etc, and so were told to pay for a big people carrier vehicle, which we did. Driver arrived without a face mask to pick 3 children up. He then insisted that there needed to be an ‘additional’ fee for ‘removals’ on top of the already higher price we had paid, in cash or transferred to his personal account!! When the people carrier was unloaded at school, it was discovered that one bag including my daughters MacBook was missing. The driver had already confirmed that his car was empty when he left them. A thorough search of the school was made. Luckily, he had parked in front on a ‘ring cctv’ camera at our house. We saw a video of him pushing this bag under one of the seats. We set a lost notification on ‘find my phone’ which triggered the next afternoon at CC a location a few miles from Royal Cars office in Oxford. We notified their office who then contacted the driver directly. He then claimed he had just found the bag. (No explanation ever given for why he had taken the MacBook out of it’s case & switched it on!). When confronted by our evidence, they still insisted on charging us a further £50 to deliver it to the school. Throughout our discussions with the female dispatcher & Manager Kelly we were treated with complete indifference and denials. Not one apology. We contacted the Police, but as the bag & laptop were eventually returned they could not do anything but referred us to the council who monitor cab firms. We will pursue this course... I had a few previous trips which were more than 25% higher than quoted but I thought as we had already paid a premium that we were safe this time! Take my advice and avoid this company if at all possible. I wish I had seen reviews on this and other sites! PS They also now own Cherwell Cars & 007 taxis who were great previously!

Dec 07,2020Usually would say 4 stars. Today. Driver came coughing with no mask on. Said he don't need mask and I'm waiting his time. Then to punish me it took more then 20min to get new taxi to me. And i was scolded by the operator that taxi drivers don't need mask. Very bad experience.

Sep 25,2020Absolutely disgusting service(DO NOT USE) I rang them at 4:45 in the morning to get a taxi for pickup at 8:20 in the morning for my disabled child's school run..after waiting till 8:35 there was no sign of the taxi and when I called in they said it was still late...I dint get an apology then rang bk in 5 mins and they said they cancelled my taxi (without letting me know)..my child was at this point late to school by 25 mins already..she went to school crying that she wants to die cuz she was late of embarrassment...I rang bk several times to get an apology but they dint even bother just kept cutting me off..it was my 1st time with this company it's rediculus..I will b complaining to milton Keynes council about them..it's very upsetting to see ur child so much distressed..I m in tears..

Jul 29,2020Consistently late, yet again, how this taxi firm remain in business is beyond me. Ordered a taxi, 30 minutes later still not turned up, to be lied too, its just round the corner, 2 mins away etc It wasn't even a busy time of day, haven't used them for a good while because of this, glad to see nothings changed, won't be using again.

Apr 25,2019Wow watch out for these in Oxford. Asain driver over charged me from Oxford parkway to Yarnton some 4 miles. #£15. 80 for a single person he refused to issue receipt then when the office emailed me saying 5.80 I realised the scam. Avoid this firm like the plague over charging scammers.

Nov 05,2021Booked for midnight and the driver turned up 12 hours early at midday. Although I spoke with the driver and company to ensure taxi would turn up at the right time no car turned up at midnight. When I phoned the company I was told there was no booking and put the phone down. This left us stranded in the depths of Oxfordshire. We were saved by another company an hour later. Rubbish service - don’t trust this company even if pre-booked.
