SCAM! STAY AWAY! The most awful experience of the last 15 years. I regret every minute I spend with these people. Here is the story. I paid in two instalments. The first was made 04.07.24, the second was taken from we without a warning 04.08.24. Today is 07.09.24. I haven't received the service or my money back. They decided to just disappear. It took them a month from the first payment to send us a video on how to make the impressions. Basically, they were just waiting for the second payment to come through. Every time I wouldn't bother them, they wouldn't do anything. When I did contact them, they kept on saying that they need something else. It takes them 2-3 business days to respond to an email. A month and a half from my first payment, I received a set of terms and conditions to sign, which was basically saying that they take no responsibility for the outcome of the treatment and I would have to pay $500 for something and additional $300, if the treatment doesn't work. A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER THE PAYMENT! I refused to sign the document. Initially, they tried to force me to sign it. When I demanded my money back, they said that they were willing to accept the terms and conditions with my amendments. Alright, I did that, and they disappeared again. After two months of waiting, I told them that I don't want to wait any longer and want my money back. They started negotiating with me. They offered me something $200 worth, which was worthless to me, so I declined and demanded my money back again. I told them that I would consider working with them if I receive half of the money back and pay it back to them when the treatment is successfully finalised. They came back to me, saying that they can do that, but I will have to pay the other half back when I receive the first set of brackets AND I will have to leave a positive feedback. I told them that I was already working with another service provider, and since I haven't received anything for 2.5 months, I wanted my money back. Then they simply disappeared. I had to request a chargeback from my bank, which will take a while now. Please, be aware and stay away from these scammers. If you ever pay, only pay with paypal. This way you will get your money back quicker. If they refuse to accept paypal, walk away.

I received the best live chat customer service of any service I’ve ever used whilst enquiring about SmilePath clear alingers. Ele was incredibly knowledgeable and understanding to my situation. I wanted to purchase alingers for both my top and bottom teeth, but I have a permanent bar retainer on my bottom teeth from previous braces, making the process more complicated. Ele kindly organised for me a temporary retainer for my bottom teeth to be quickly sent to me after my 3D scan and to be worn after I have the bar removed, and during the period of time of awaiting my clear aligners. Ordered an impression kit at the end of June and it arrived promptly. The kit had an extra putty set which was useful. At the same time I ordered an impression kit with another company that took longer to arrive, but their putty took 2.5 mins for each impression, whereas this one 4.5min. The sizing here was also larger. I think it's very easy to ask someone to measure their mouth to get an appropriate size when ordering. Not a problem, now e-mailing back and forth with customer service was awful. The responses are canned and taken from a script. The responders don't always read what you write. I was annoyed each time a response came back. Calling in for customer service is almost worse, it feels like the NZ headquarters is a family run affair, which is fine, but the younger adults should take a course in communication. I would have preferred talking to AI at this point. The dental plan I was given was short and direct, but compared to the other plan, this one did not take my bite into account (which can be dangerous). Of course SmilePath is much cheaper than its competitors, so if you have an easy cosmetic fix and don't require interaction with customer service, I suggest this company. Any complications, do look elsewhere. And based on TrustPilot, it sounds like the AU has better rating, so customer service does matter. Tone of voice, listening to your customers, verbal comprehension, attending to their needs is what's needed for retention. Not, hounding them to purchase.
I suffer severe PTSD (post traumatic stress) so I was unable to cancel my SmilePath order on time. The reason I had to cancel my order for dental aligners is because I have to leave the country to escape domestic violence. With PTSD it was difficult to cancel the order on time but no aligners were made and all materials sent to me were sent back via Return To Sender completely unused, unopened, and in perfect condition for resale. I have called and emailed numerous times and they antagonised me, threatening to keep funds if I complain or make a bad review. One customer service agent said if I don't pay they will come to my house to find me. This is terrifying as a woman already in a difficult position with concerns for safety. This company is behaving unethically and made vile remarks over the phone insulting my chronic condition and circumstances
Everything went well when you made payment, received some discount. However, three months later I still have not received the remaining retainers. I had to send email to follow up my order. Also, there is lack of communication, I had to send email back and forth in order to know why my order was slow, no update and no one contact me for evaluation after I sent them my teeth photo wearing retainers. Until today, there is still no update about the remaining retainers and delivery. I will update again if I receive my order as they stated it will be delivered to me within 10 days, which already eight days and nothing updated To update, 19 August 2024, I still have not received remaining retainers as they informed that it will be delivered in 10 days. Today, they informed that the retainers have now been fabricated that means they just started to make it or just another excuses that I have received many times. Please look for elsewhere if you don’t want to have disappointed experience and deal with always excuses business. To update, 20 August 2024, I requested for refund due to Smile Path have not fulfilled my order and they said that the remaining retainers have fabricated and dispatched in last two weeks. How it is possible? Yesterday, they just inform me that the retainers have now fabricated and will be shipped to me shortly??? Why on 16 August, they informed me remaining retainers will be sent to me within 10 day? No more excuses. To update, after long back and forth email to follow my order. It took them more than three months to finish all retainers and I received them (27 August 2024) with delayed and not within the time frame as promised 4 - 6 weeks to complete. Please look for elsewhere if you do not want to waste your time to follow up your order. It should be Smile Path’s responsibility to follow up customers order and make it clear that when customers will actually receive the order and when it will finish. Not just keep excuses about back log and evaluation. If you cannot keep up with customers’ order, do not take the orders. Do not believe all good reviews and keep your eyes open prior to make the order and payment

I have been asking for a refund for 4 months. They keep giving you a different excuses on the phone, promised verbally and in the emails that it will be processed. Until I put the reviews online, they tell me to delete negative reviews in order to get a refund. Many people has comment they have been treated the same.

After reviewing the smile projection from smilepath, i was not satisfied with the result so i (respectfully) requested a refund (prior to them making the aligners). They refused to offer a refund on no particular grounds. It took me 6 months of phone calls and emails back and forth with no result. So i lodged a dispute with the NZ disputes tribunal, after which they got scared and paid the refund. My advice - avoid this company at all cost. Very unprofessional. There's plenty of other cost effective companies who are much more professional.
