Feb 06,2025Selling at extortionate prices for a start. They have 100's of shops..the similar buying power as Lidl and Aldi yet they have rip off prices. There business rates would be lower too. I thought Premier was overpriced but Spar is in another league on their prices. Selling Fosters Lager at 3.7% by volume alcohol..this is a new con..Selling coloured water..this reduces the price they pay and still charging as if it was 4.5%. Just a simple example..they stick their shops where there's very little competition so they can sell at extortionate prices. They've got the buying power by numbers..if they used their brains instead of 'rip off thinking', their realise that they have a niche market and could sell half to double more if they could get round their inferior thinking and drastically reduce their prices. Just to ADD'DD.. the female that served me, more than once ( I've been 'unfortunate enough to go to this so called local, errrr! ) had a face like like a smacked bum..miserable is an understatement..asked for a receipt, her face ( my thoughts were, I feel guilty for asking..her face again) I've been in business lots of my life..selling, serving, waiting etc in any business is no different to leisure..A SMILE and THANK YOU. .is that such a problem when you are legally robbing me. You get more of a smile from a lizard being fed..no joking.

Feb 03,2025Worse company to work for,some managers and supervisors are straight up bullies and upper management do nothing ,not fully trained just expected to know what you're doing ,expected to do all sorts of hours and slagged off if you don't want to do it, boss swearing at you in front of customers and telling you being off with the flu is a bad look plus the prices are disgusting for some things ,wouldn't give them my money ever again.

Jan 30,2025I’ve already written a positive review for our Spar store here in Motherwell Rd, Bellshill. This second review is an update as it seems things have changed in this store recently. The staff are fine but the extremely high price hikes added (since the new year) to most products has caused many folk I know to shop elsewhere. - They've added a £1 here, 90p there & even DOUBLING the price on a couple of items. I realise prices are rising in the UK, but when I checked elsewhere many of the same items haven’t altered nowhere near as much in cost. So, this makes me believe that sadly, this shop is now PROFITEERING!! This must be due to the management deciding to drastically increase profits for the year ahead. Their grocery prices are too high & the alcohol cost is now outrageous. - Way beyond the minimum pricing here. A message to the management of this store…. Enough! You’re supposed to be a part of the community, so please stop ripping us off!

Jan 28,2025Staff always been so helpful which is good for me as I have mobility problems. If I don't see something on the shelf and staff think they have more of what I'm looking for they go out the storeroom to check. Excellent service with the Post Office so unlike what it was before new owners took over.

Jan 04,2025The SPAR store in Ludlow, Shropshire is consistently bad at getting the correct price / offer price on items on the Epos system, and often you can find you are being charged more than advertised at the till. This is made more of an issue as no receipts are automatically given. As a result, unless you have chance / time to check at the point of payment, you can get caught and be overpaying for items. Despite raising the issue in store, little or no effort seems to have been made to resolve this long ongoing issue.

Dec 30,2024Not the first time I've arrived at Spar Cinnamon Hill pr5 and findi it shut despite being advertised online as open. Post office official website, spar website both suggest the post office is open till 5pm, yet they decide to shut it at 2pm. Sometimes they don't open it at all!

Dec 26,2024Went into Spar Cambridge Rd Southport on Christmas Day, a girl with long blonde hair was rude to me and to a couple also, I had lost my phone and asked if it had been jaded in, NO she said, I asked if she could ring it for me to see if it had fallen in my car, she didn’t even listen to what I said, she just shouted ITS NOT HERE. I understand she and the other (nice) had lady customers, I’m not a youngster and don’t expect to be spoken to in such a rude manner. A girl in the queue over heard and offered to ring it for me, I then located it. I have helped so many people in my life which makes it even more upsetting. Spar staff are always very helpful but not this person 😢😢

Dec 21,2024Outrageously bad service at the hot food counter. Waited 25 minutes to be served two pasties which were so bland I would not feed the leftovers to the seagulls. This is certainly the last time I would visit this shop. Staff seem to have no comprehension of good customer service. The Manager of this shop should be ashamed.

I was only person in shop so it's not that she was harassed or busy. Other staff in this shop are nice so not sure why this lady was so rude

Dec 04,2024The Spar I sometimes go to for work is the one at Risley... I have had to visit twice now to ask if they could pull a couple of receipts of the system for the company credit card. I think the lady who served me both times was called Maddie, there was also a lady called Danielle and I think a gentleman called Andrew. I just want to say in a world where everyone is quick to complain... I have had the best service.... Kindness and patience when they have been very busy.. It seemed no trouble to take time to help me. The store itself has a very welcoming vibe to it. Just wanted to say thankyou to all 3 members of staff for the great customer service

Dec 01,2024When people are struggling left right and center within the UK you'd think some stores would wouldn't be increasing prices mainly for greed. I went into asda for some Christmas cadburys calendars for the kids which were £1.50 each and I was OK paying that price. Remembered later that day that maybe my nephews would want some aswel. Popped into Spar to grab some on the way home. The same Christmas cadburys calendar was £2.75! In Spar. How can you justify increasing the price that much? Absolutely disgusting!

Nov 26,2024I go into the spar shop opposite Queen Street station Cardiff every morning on my way to work to get food for my lunch break. There's always plenty of choice and the meal deals are worth the price 👌, the staff are always friendly and always ready to help if needed

Nov 13,2024Spar has got very greedy and expensive on sone items. And some are not good for disabled. But most of the staff are fine, never used to be! The Freuchie store is better than Ladybank but their access is not as good. Should be a law.
