I am a business analyst working in marketing, having the admin access to all of our domains. I am used to dealing with DNS companies, but I have never experienced one as unprofessional as Speednames. I made a support request on the first of July, trying to reset the password for my company account. It took more than a month, and multiple tickets as they kept closing them, for them to supply a reset password link. I then tried to request my username, as I only have the admin email... It's now the 18th of September and the last time I heard from them was on the 3rd, where "Frederik W - Techincal Support Specialist" told me I'd be contacted as soon as there was a reply from their technicians. More than a month and counting, to request my username... How this company still exists is a mystery to me. I warn everyone from ever doing business with Speednames, and as soon as I can transfer out our domain (hoping to accomplish this within the year), we will seize all business with this joke of a company.
Incredibly inept. They 'lost' one of our domains in 2013, which was immediately bought by a Russian domain squatter - dread to think how much it cost them to get back. Their service has been appalling ever since, and the switchover to the new portal a complete shambles. Now they've lost two of our domains again, which are suspended and with Nominet - we wouldn't have known this were it not for the independent Nominet email. Speednames response? "In response to your email, the domains ------.co.uk and -----.co.uk are actually showing that they are with Enom and yes they do show that they are expired. You should be contacting them as soon as possible." Sorry? WE should be contacting them? WTaF? We've paid for the renewal, Speednames haven't done it, and WE should be doing the chasing around? We have never, ever, dealt with a company so astonishingly useless as Speednames. We are now in the process of transferring all our domains elsewhere. Avoid this bunch of muppets like the plague.
Got six Domain with Speednames and can't do anything with any of them because they are doing upgrades and it will take 6 months. Then I went brought another domain and that it is on there old system and will take 6 months before I can use it, and then they take payment seven times. there help desk will sort it in 24-48 hours "ha" still waiting.
Unable to access my website for THREE months. I call their customer service number and they tell me they cannot help but can only e-mail the migration team which is somewhere else. I have been chasing them for THREE months with no results. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Recently lost access to my e-mail account. Despite numerous calls to their technical department I am unable to view or send e-mails. They tell me they will 'escalate' my complaint to get the matter resolved but nothing happens. Just empty promises. Their technical ability to resolve this issue can only be referred to as totally 'INCOMPETENT' I'm making arrangements to transfer my Domain & Email account as I write this review. I have never dealt with such a useless Company. I dread to think what all my contacts and the Company's I deal with must be thinking.
STILL WAITING FOR SPEENAMES TO SORT OUT A SMIPLE MX RECORD CHANGE 7 WEEKS SO FAR - TERRIBLE ZERO STARS Terrible support, terrible feedback, terrible portal.... just terrible A botched transfer of our account from an "legacy" portal to their new portal has resulted in us being unable to make any chances to our domain. I have phoned and emailed every day for a month and still zero progress other than standard responses. All I want to do is change an MX record but that appears far too challenging for speednames to action. Our case was escalated a month ago, I feel really sorry for those not escalated if this is what you get when it has. Poor in every sense of the word
This company has been appalling. My emails just stopped working 20 days ago. I have emailed with no replies and telephoned 8 days ago to say they would be in touch with me. I use this email for business so dread to think what business I have lost.
Received email saying they had tried to contact me several times as my domain renewal was a month over due and it would be terminated in 24 hours. I am in UK, but help telephone number was in Denmark. They answered, but said they couldn't help and I should contact speednames.uk. After examining my emails there were notifications from Speednames 3 months earlier that my domains had been renewed, and my bank account showed they had taken the money. After waiting 30 mins on telephone I gave up. Two emails to support have been unanswered. My web site is still functioning as normal after two weeks. Unbelievable. Completely unacceptable behaviour - I must investigate how to transfer to another provider, but (from the comments below) even this is apparently difficult. Well - it is now December 2024. I never got my EPP code off them, but I did manage to force a change of provider to Scala - recommended, superb service. I wondered how long Speednames had managed to survive, and here it appears that they actually still exist - unbelievable! How can a company with these comments still function?
I had many domains registered with IP MIRROR and once fine day IPMirror was acquired by Speed Names (a business unit of Corporation Service Company) After that, I had to transfer my domains. Still few domains are left in Speed Names account and they don't care to support or help. They have a very pathetic control panel and it does not work. Customer Support is worst I have ever seen in my life. I wish there were -ve rating allowed for this company.
Never answer on support e-mails and financial e-mails and they double charged my credit card. Can't remove my credit card...
Does not answer support emails. Have sendt 4 this last month. No reply at all from them. And they charge your credit card without sending you invoices og giving you access to invoices.
Do not use - since migration services not working and 'help'desk hopeless if they respond at all. Now to see if I can migrate to another provider...
No emails for 19 days so far Only 1 reply to numerous emails sent to them wanting info Usual minimum 30 minute wait for them to answer phone calls, but always polite Ticket numbers seem to be given out willy nilly Lost count of the advice to "wait 24 to 48 hours" for a solution I only transferred my web hosting to them because they also administer my domain name
I am 4 months into trying to migrate a domain away from the ironically named Speednames. I consider this to be a battle of wills rather than a service request now. I keep filling i the same form, I send it off and hear nothing. I chase the request and I am asked to fill in this form..and so it goes on. I wish my epitaph on my tombstone to be "I managed to get Speednames to do what I asked" , a dream maybe but we can all dream. Only use Speednames if you find Catch 22 style bureaucracy amusing and fun. Staggeringly bad service.
Probably the poorest customer experience that I have been forced to endure in over 40 years of working in IT and networks. Knowing that I would need to renew my domain payment in mid May 2018 I started the process to transfer my domain to another hosting company in Mar 18. I have now come to the point of renewal and still Speednames have failed to update my registry email address information so that I can initiate transfer. Despite their having signed documentation since early April to pass on to their registrar the email address remains one that I no longer use. They fail to appreciate that as a customer my relationship is with them not their registrar who they continually blame for not actioning the request. I am now resigned to losing my domain name, after multiple calls and emails, as I refuse to pay them for a service that I don't receive. What beggars belief is that Speednames and Ascio, the registrar, are part of the same group of companies owned by CSC. Do not do business with these companies.
Dreadful company now. I bought a domain when this company was called NetNames - they were great. The trouble started when it changed to Speednames. It has a parent company in Denmark (ASCIO). They do not seem to have a real presence in the UK. Support calls are routed elsewhere, where staff do not even understand who Speednames are. Emails to the Speednames support address are unanswered. BUT there is good news. If you go to the Nominet site (you got an email from them when you registered your Speednames domain), you can login and start an online chat. Tell them your problems with Speednames and for £10 they will allow you to re-register your domain with another registrar of your choice. I just did this. It took 10 minutes. Talk to your new registrar before speaking to Nominet. Nominet will need your new registrars TAG name to make the change. The best £10 I EVER spent!
A simple change never went through, and from then on, it was downhill. No replies to emails. I talked to them a few times, tried in various timezones to get different people, but nobody was able to help. At all. I must have pi......d them off because after a while they made the "I cannot hear you" trick, when I called them. My sites and email (which is most important for me), was down for the better part of a week. I eventually managed to get away and to another registrar. BTW, somebody mentioned that ASCIO was just as bad - that was NOT my experience. Had it not been for ASCIO, I would have been left in the dark even longer.
This is ludicrous - they are 'rolling out' an 'exciting new service' for their customers e-mail solutions, without explaining what it is. Which has promptly crashed my e-mail service and I can no longer receive or send e-mail from Outlook. Called Technical Support number, held on for over an HOUR(!), then told that they could only assist with accounts that have already been updated, 'legacy' accounts such as mine (which they have not got around to updating) have to contact (via e-mail) the billing department! No phone numbers, no surnames given, no support despite paying them for a service. This is now being escalated to our legal team as they are blatantly breaking their agreement and contract with us.
