I was convinced by Connells Estate Agents to use Swiitch to sell my house, I’m not using them to purchase my new house which says it all really. The final bill (and draft bill) included a payment of £300 and next to it it said Building Society. I questioned the £300 as I had no penalty with my mortgage and was told this charge was to deal with the Building Society throughout the sale of my house. During the sale I asked the building society if I could stop my direct debit to pay for the mortgage. They replied yes because the redemption would be paid in the same month so I could stop the payment. Swiitch didn’t deal with the Building Society throughout the sale and claim I missed a payment although I was told I could stop the payments. I am now being pursued by debt collectors instructed by the building society and Swiitch have not even apologised for the error let alone pay me the £300 back. This will now be referred to the financial Ombudsman. Meanwhile stay clear and use a local solicitor so you can walk into the office when needed. Update 24/06/2024 Thank you for your reply and for contacting me the day after I wrote a review which is the fastest response I received from Swiitch. You are correct, I was given the wrong the information by the Building Society and you were given the wrong figure for the final redemption and I appreciate your offer of assistance for the financial ombudsman but the reply I had from your staff was basically pointing the finger at me all along and accusing me of missing a payment. I’ve never missed a mortgage payment and to be accused as such was very insulting especially when I’m paying you £300 on top of all other costs to liaise with my building society throughout the sale of my property.
Craig was amazing on the purchase of my first home.
