I got to work and meet amazing people thanks to this experience, learnt many new skills and made unforgettable memories with my group.

Jul 08,2024Volunteering in Nepal was an incredible experience! Alongside the fact that I made some great friends along the way, the in-country coordinators Sam and Ming are there to help every step of the way. They made sure all volunteers were listened to and adapted the volunteering to fit our preferences. In particular, this made teaching in schools around Pokhara and mountain village visits very comfortable and stress-free. Would definitely recommend!

I made friends for life, helped make a difference for the Atlas communities in real time, and grew so much as a person. It was a huge success and the Travelteer ambassadors Paula and Abdul went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.

Jul 07,2024The Travelteer tour was amazing and well organised, everything ran smoothly no thanks to our lovely coordinator Fleur and driver Nalin! It was a pleasure to get to know both of them throughout the tour and they really made the experience a one in a lifetime. Thank you so much to both! The tour itself was a lot of fun and got to do so many wonderful activities and see beautiful scenery.

Jul 06,2024I have just completed a month in Morocco with Travelteer helping the local community in teaching, agriculture, architecture and much more. This opportunity came to me via my university and it has been the most heartwarming and fulfilling experience. Everyone from my fellow volunteers, our lead volunteer (Paula) and our guide (Abdul) to the local community have been so welcoming and supportive for the four weeks we spent here. I would highly recommend embarking on this journey as a social detox and an escape from your usual city life :)

Contributing to teaching in schools, building greenhouses and living in the mountain villages has felt insanely rewarding and impactful. Sam and Ming made everyone feel super comfortable, and made the entire experience the best it could be. I’ve met the best people and also have made friends for life. I’m grateful to have lived this volunteering experience!!

Really glad I chose to participate in the Atlas Morocco project as I not only helped innovate the village but also learnt many new skills and met lots of new people. Jul 04,2024I recently went on Travelteer's Coast to Coast tour in Sri Lanka, and I would like to share my experience to help others make an informed decision. While the trip offered unforgettable moments, there were several areas where the experience could be improved. Highlights 1. **Exploration and Activities**: The tour provided an excellent opportunity to explore Sri Lanka extensively. Activities such as surfing and snorkeling with sharks were amazing and well-organized, making the trip memorable. Our tour driver Nalin was a local Sri Lankan man who was really lovely and made the tour for me! 2. **Social Experience**: I made lifelong friends during the tour. The social aspect of the trip was one of its greatest strengths. The evenings on the tour was a great chance to make friends and drink. 3.**Embrace Sri Lankan Culture**: The tour and volunteering provided a wonderful chance to immerse ourselves in the rich diversity and culture of Sri Lanka. We explored numerous breathtaking temples and enjoyed an array of traditional Sri Lankan meals Areas for Improvement 1. **Website and Itinerary**: The Travelteer website appeared to be outdated at times. Many aspects of the actual tour did not align with the online itinerary. This led to several surprises upon arrival, which could have been avoided with accurate information. 2. **Pre-Departure Information**: Crucial details such as the need to tip locals frequently, the lack of accessible clean water (meaning we had to buy bottled water everyday), and the extensive daily travel (up to 4 hours) were not communicated beforehand. While understandable for an international trip, it would have been beneficial to know these in advance. 3. **Coordinator Conduct**: One of our tour coordinators displayed unprofessional misogynist behavior during the trip. Despite this, when reported Travelteer handled the situation promptly and professionally. 4. **Accommodation**: Upon arrival to Hikkaduwa, we were assigned to one of three volunteer houses, each differing significantly in quality, size, and cleanliness. This seemed unfair, considering all volunteers paid the same fee but received varying standards of accommodation. Although I did not expect luxury, the disparity felt unfair. 5. **Volunteer Program**: The mental health program, as described on the website, did not match my on-the-ground experience. Instead of diverse volunteering activities, we mainly created posters or watched YouTube videos. This discrepancy raised concerns about the allocation of the funds I had raised for the trip. Despite this, Ruchi (Lead Sri Lankan Coordinator) was very lovely and always willing to take on feedback to make the programmes more enjoyable. Overall, I do recommend Travelteer's Coast to Coast tour for its social benefits and the chance to explore the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. The majority of the coordinators like Reece, Ct, Fleur, Sean and Maddie working at Travelteer house were lovely and very approachable. However, I do think it’s important for potential volunteers to read the reviews and seek detailed information before departure to ensure their expectations align with the reality of the trip.

Jul 02,2024The best experience ever!! Truely the best coordinators anyone could wish for!! Reece, Alex and Fleur are and were all so so great and the amount of appreciation I hold for them is honestly huge. Not only were they our coordinators but they have become some of the bestest of friends to me which I am again grateful for!! For the tour, it was also fantastic, having the privilege of travelling to these amazing places does really make me feel so proud. Honestly I have made memories of a lifetime thanks to travelteer and their amazing coordinators!!

Jul 01,2024Had the pleasure of volunteering in nepal, and was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. Met some amazing people on the trip, also got to teach kids in schools, build greenhouses and lots of community work and really make a difference to peoples lives. We also went to a mountain village, which was a very different experience but something i will never forget, also all the activities, like, zip lining and paragliding were amazing too. All this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Sam and Ming as they were so helpful and just great people in general, who were so supportive at every stage of the journey.

Jun 30,2024Thanks to Sam and Ming, I experienced an opportunity of a lifetime volunteering in Pokhara, Nepal for three weeks. Originally planned for two weeks, I extended my stay as I enjoyed teaching the kids, creating greenhouses together, the beautiful country, the food, clicking so well with fellow volunteers, which began on our coach ride to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The experience exceeded my expectations, allowing me to achieve more than I imagined at a much lower cost than in the UK. The week in a mountain village was particularly amazing, offering time with the local people, culture, and schoolchildren. Our weekends were filled with adventures like zip-lining, paragliding, ATV biking, and cable cars, creating unforgettable memories. I am incredibly grateful to Ming and Sam and urge anyone considering it to seize the opportunity they gave me for a truly impactful and enjoyable experience with great people too.

Jul 12,2024Had a great time volunteering on the medical elective, marine conservation and mental health programme with Travelteer in Sri Lanka. Coordinators were all fantastic and helpful - Maddie, Reece, Fleur, Carys. Would of been 5 star but ocean house where I stayed was tired and dated compared to lake and pool house.
