Feb 19,2025Varsity Tutors is a scam. I was deceived; I was led to believe by my tutor that my account ended when we agreed she could no longer help me. Instead, I was billed to the end of the year. I don’t think it is an honest business practice to charge someone for something they are not obviously using. I lost over 4000 dollars, I am retired, and on a fixed income.

I was told I would get my money back if my daughter didn't pass the test and because I didn't submit the score scores on their time, which I was never told, they refuse to give me my money back and charged me an additional $391 without my knowledge or consent 6 months later. Not only did my daughter Not pass the test her scores went down after using this company! The first two tutors told her they weren't good in math, which is what she needed. Their Customer Service is a disgrace. Please don't ever use them!

Feb 18,2025As an adult learner it is important that I be paired with a quality, professional tutor. He is all of that and more! I signed up for Public Speaking, but not.... I am working toward a career change to Voice Acting. My tutor is exceptionally qualified, not only in an academic fashion, but is actively involved in Directing theatre. Perfect for my needs. He works with me... no lectures. He creates a supportive, inviting environment, gently leading me out of my self-criticism and onto a better performance. I always feel positive after our sessions.

It was months later and they charged my card on file even though we had not had a tutor for months during summer and into a new school year when my daughter returned to school. They were not willing to refund their charge even though no tutoring or services were rendered. Not good! Not trustworthy.

Feb 17,2025Horrible experience with tutor Denys B. He was impatient, condescending and rude to my child. The tutor made a deeply inappropriate and hurtful comment, referring to my child as "dumb." Such remarks are not only unprofessional but also damaging to my child's self-esteem and motivation. As a parent, I trusted that Varsity Tutors was going to provide a patient tutor that would foster a supportive and encouraging environment, where my child would feel respected and valued, regardless of their academic progress. Unfortunately, this incident violated that trust. Varsity tutors was informed about this incident and they replaced the tutor but I don’t believe they fired the tutor that made the disparaging comments to my child. I’m writing this so that parents can be made aware of this tutor and avoid the experience we had with him.

Feb 16,2025I cannot recommend Dalcio highly enough! I was transitioning into a new career selling retirement services, which required passing the SIE, Series 6, and Series 63 exams. Coming from a non-financial background, I hadn’t taken a test in nearly 10 years, and academics had never been my strong suit. Studying and test-taking were always a challenge for me. I had a tight deadline: if I passed the SIE exam before my start date, I would earn a bonus. With only three weeks to prepare—while still working full-time, raising my 20-month-old, and supporting my pregnant wife at 36 weeks—I knew I needed help. That’s when I found Varsity Tutors and was paired with Dalcio. Simply put, I hit the jackpot with Dalcio! He went above and beyond to prepare me for the SIE. He made complex, foreign concepts feel relatable and took the time to understand my learning style. His patience, encouragement, and dedication were unmatched—I truly felt like he was family and on my team throughout the entire process. Thanks to Dalcio’s incredible support, I passed the SIE on my first attempt, something I never thought possible. I can’t wait to work with him again for the Series 6 and Series 63 exams. If you’re looking for a tutor who truly cares and will push you to succeed, Varsity Tutors is the way to go!
