Sep 20,2024Reading other people’s reviews was an important part of why I chose Nottingham Veincentre for treatment & so here is my honest review of my experience, which I hope will be of help to others. I have recently completed EVLA, avulsions & foam sclerotherapy treatment for varicose veins on my calf under the care of Dr Mark Regi & Nurse Debbie & I am delighted with the outcome so far. First treatment appointment took about an hour & although uncomfortable at times was fine & Mark was fantastic at explaining what was happening. I really appreciated his gentle, but confident demeanour & I very quickly trusted him. Debbie was really lovely to talk to as I was being treated & together she & Mark even made me laugh a couple of times, which was no small achievement, given the circumstances. I chose to have avulsions following EVLA because it offers faster results & there is no risk of staining. I also liked the idea of having the veins physically removed. It’s not for the feint hearted though. Mainly because of sensation of the veins being pulled through the incisions. Again, I would describe it as discomfort rather than pain & by the end of the session I was watching the veins being removed. Foam sclerotherapy is much less uncomfortable & also much faster & I can see why most people opt for this as their secondary treatment. If you’re squeamish or have a low pain threshold, go for the foam. The worst part of the entire treatment for me was having to wear a compression stocking for a week in hot weather. I took frequent cold showers (whilst wearing it) to cool down. Be prepared for an increase in discomfort after about a week. I hadn’t expected this & I think it is caused by the immune system disposing of the dead, treated veins. Another thing that was a lovely surprise to me was how much better the circulation in my foot is following treatment. I hadn’t realised how bad it was & I appreciate it everyday when running, walking or even just sitting. My main motivation to get the treatment was cosmetic, but the increase in function & comfort is amazing & unexpected. Thank you to Jane on reception for her lovely warm welcome & humour which very quickly disarmed my apprehension at being a patient. Mark, Debbie & Jane you are a great team & very good at what you do. I wouldn’t hesitate to book treatment with you again should it ever be necessary & I absolutely would recommend Nottingham Veincentre to friends & family & anyone reading this review.

Sep 20,2024I was very nervous about having my treatment but from the moment I walked through the door I was treated so well. Made very welcome, staff were very friendly. I was totally put at ease. Everything was explained very well and through my treatment the nurse made me feel very relaxed. So much so that we were laughing while my treatment was being carried out. Each time the consultant did something he told me before hand what was going to happen. I would highly recommend this clinic.

Sep 19,2024I underwent EVLA and Sclerotherapy treatment at the Milton Keynes clinic. On my first consultation everything was explained to me in detail and I felt confident that I had all the necessary information to make a decision to go ahead with the treatment. Dr Premal Patel and his nurse Beverly undertook the procedure and they could not have done more to make me feel comfortable and reassured on the day. They were both very professional, friendly and explained everything as they went through the treatment. During the procedure I felt very little other than a few "scratches" and eight days later still have had very little pain. The bulging vein that had the EVLA can barely be seen and although the area that had the Sclerotherapy is still apparent, it has now gone hard I am told that after my next treatment in 6-8 weeks this will disappear eventually. I was very happy with the care and treatment I received and I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Sep 21,2024Out and about in shorts today, I was reminded of the fantastic treatment I received at Veincentre. Dr Ammar did an amazing job and I have felt so pleased and comfortable being able to wear shorts most of the time. I needed a lot of veins treating and, although the healing process took about 2 months until marks and bruises cleared up, it was all worth the wait and patience. This treatment has totally changed my life and confidence. A huge thank you to Dr Ammar and her team.
