Dec 07,2020I've just sold a property through WeBuyAnyHome. I received exactly the amount I was offered initially by WBAH, but I made sure to be as accurate as possible in describing the condition of the property, to try to avoid the price dropping significantly after the valuation/survey. There were some minor complications due to the property being a leasehold retirement apartment, which meant that I didn't get as much money as I would have liked and it took rather longer than I hoped (almost three months from first agreeing a price with WBAH). These issues were largely beyond the control of WBAH, and I believe that they did their best to get me a reasonable price and a timely sale; unfortunately, retirement apartments have little resale value and the delays were partly down to the property management company (the freeholder). However, the solicitors that WBAH use also did not seem to be terribly efficient, with standard queries that could have been resolved right at the start being dragged out throughout the process, or left until the last minute, so unnecessarily delaying completion. Abby at WBAH dealt with my case, and she seemed very diligent in bringing about the sale. She was also very informative, patient and courteous whenever I spoke with her. However, communication could have been better: it was almost impossible to speak to Abby on the phone, and calls and emails were frequently not returned without a lot of prompting, or sometimes not at all, leaving me in the dark as to what was happening. I also spoke with Haydn once or twice, however, he did not seem well informed and gave me misinformation as to the status of my case. Overall, I felt that WBAH acted with integrity, but the poor communication and unnecessary delays did make the process more stressful than it needed to be.
