Mar 17,2013I moved here to California a couple of years ago, and I started missing my Norwegian food. I thought that I would have my friends ship me some stuff. But first I started searching the web to see if I could buy it here. To my good fortune I stumbled upon scandinavianfoodstore.com At first I bought a few items just to see/ check it out. I was VERY happy and satisfied with the quality of the goods and the fast shipping. After that my second order got bigger. This is my main Norwegian store from now on. I love everything, the selection, the variety, and the quality. There's only two things I would love even more though, one is maybe some coupons now and then. Second is, and i see on the other comments that people have posted that they want the same. Better shipping rates. Other vise, everything is perfect.

Jan 21,2013The pinnekjoett was great, much better than the local dealer. Fenalaar fantastic! Wieners we good, they tasted like norwegian hotdogs, not wieners. The skin was tougher than the Gilde hotdogs. But still, a great norwegian hot dog you have been craving. Medisterpølse was great. Medisterkake was good stuff Karbonadekake was dandy! Gravlaks was very impressive, but they were out of gravlaks sauce so sent mustard, a little bummed about that, should have not charged for the mustard sauce I would say.. The smoked salmon I got was not very good, I think it was imported from norway, but it was too salty. Also I think it had been frozen? I know I can get better cold smoked salmon locally. All in all: 5 stars, with the pinnekjøtt, fenalår and gravlaks being the main stars of the menu. Tip for Willy: I know its not Scandinavian, but I do know that Norwegians are used to eating Soletti saltsticks. You should import them, there is no importers in the US for these kings of the sticks!

Dec 23,2012I placed my order on a Monday evening and wanted to receive it in 2 or 3 days, so I paid $42.40 in order to get USPS prioroty service. I felt a bit foolish spending that much on an order of less than $90, but I needed it as a gift for a relative visiting from out of town. The order was sent from Willys two days later on a Wednesday evening. Here I sit on Saturday afternoon with nothing to show for my money, but a tracking number that says my shipment is a half a state away. It looks as though I may see the goods on Monday one week after I placed my order. To add insult to injury, two days ago I received this email asking me to rate my experience. At this point 1 star is too much.

Dec 07,2012Thrilled to find Swedish Christmas ham online for our yearly Julbord! All items were very well packed (Glass items--herring, mustard and pickles--individually bubble wrapped) and the ham was still frozen when it got here from Florida. I also wish they could negotiate better shipping rates with UPS. But it's Christmas and I want authentic Swedish food---from SWEDEN!. (Not IKEA brand)

Nov 22,2012I have ordered from other Norwegian/Swedish Internet Sellers in past years for our annual 'Groaning Board'... This was the first year I tried the 'Scandinavianfoodstore'...primarily because while I had checked out two other sellers at the same time...they did not have even the majority of items I wanted In Stock! It was a pleasant surprise when I entered my Order and all items were still in stock! (no doubt others have experienced that unhappy result also?) So, all items timely arrived here in Wyoming, all well-packed, in good conditions, and STILL COLD! I will definitely order from 'Scandinavianfoodstore' again next year! Signed, Pleased in WYoming

Apr 27,2013Your service was as promised. UPS not so much. They didn't count the pick up date as a delivery day, then they held frozen fish for two days locally before delivery.
