World Strides put together an excellent trip. Everything was set perfectly and our itinerary was full of exciting stops.
The absolute best tour guide and bus driver! We got to experience all things NYC. Everything was so organized but able to swap around to match weather. I feel like I was able to fully enjoy this once in a lifetime experience and felt safe the entire time.
We absolutely loved Bruce our tour guide and Bruce our bus driver. I would book another tour just to have them. Some food options could be improved. I like the sit down restaurant options instead of the quick things.
We had an awesome trip! The staff was incredible - friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! The itinerary, schedule, hotels etc were perfect for a school trip! Thank you for an amazing experience!
This was our first and last time using this company to go on an organized school trip. Here are the main dislikes: the food/restaurants were not picked with international students in mind. Just because you visit another country doesn't mean EVERY meal has to be authentic from that country. The kids nor the parents enjoyed it all! It was low quality and no other options were offered. Example: on what would be Thanksgiving in USA, they planned a special dinner....it was Mac & cheese. No other options, no other meat or sides.🙄 The schedule allowed for NO time to rest. You were leaving a hotel at 7:00am and not arriving to another one until 7:00/8:00pm that night. Some accommodations were remote and would be considered 2-star at best. You are on the bus for hours at a time and it was advertised that all buses had bathroom, but they lock them from November -April for winter. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and stuck to his itinerary without compromise. All in all, I would never pay this kind of money to do this again. You really could take yourself & child for a cheaper, better experience.
Organized.
Loved our guide, she was so very accommodating. All of the planned activities were great. The hotels were very nice, rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful also. Each one had a great selection at breakfast. Was a wonderful trip!
Our daughter really enjoyed her trip to DC in sure this will be a memorable trip for her to remember for a lifetime.
Our tour guide and bus driver - both Bruces - were amazing! They really made the trip spectacular! Bruce 1 (tour guide) was immensely knowledgable about New York City, and Bruce 2 (bus driver) made for many hilarious situations driving around a huge tour bus in New York City, He was a pro! Both Bruces really made the trip special.
Lisa Kent, Shey Sweeney, and everyone else at WorldStrides makes this an easy trip to lead. All questions are answered quickly and professionally, and each person truly takes the time to be helpful. They anticipate everything you could possibly need ahead of time so that everyday runs smoothly. Also, Sheri and Jorge are the best tour guide and bus driver to have!
Hotel was fabulous, walking tour was amazing, tour leader was a hoot and full of knowledge! Disappointed in missing dinner on Saturday night. When our group inquired about the missed dinner, we were told not to worry about it. Yet, we were all hungry and had no dinner.
WorldStrides did a great job planning a full and entertaining trip. The employees were very kind and helpful. Everyone made the trip one to remember! The attention to detail and thoughtful accommodations makes WorldStrides a great company to work with.
The group leader/guide Celia was amazing and all of the staff were caring and awesome. They were flexible and responded quickly to every curve ball.
I like Chicago :)
This experience gets three stars because there were some strong points and some lacking moments. Strong points include the sites that were planned in our visit, the hotel accommodations, and the charter bus company selected. Disappointing elements include insufficient time planned at various venues, arranging pizza for lunch and dinner on the same day, and not prearranging for payment at one restaurant causing a moment of undue panic when we were handed a $2200.00 bill.
The trip as a whole was okay. The bus we had didn't have wifi as advertised though which stunk and made for a really long trip. We also had a problem with my food. Both times that we had pizza there was no alternative provided for me that was tomato free. One of the times I was given salad like everyone else but then they got their pizza and I had nothing else. One of the parent chaperones had to order something for me and pay out of their own pocket. This is not okay because I paid for the trip and my food at those venues was supposed to be covered. There were gluten free options and even something for the girl who is vegan but no consideration was given for my tomato free requests.
This was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and all the activities were amazing.
Let me start by saying that this one star review is in NO way related to our official guide or our bus driver. If it had not been for them, this trip would have been a total loss. Our guide could not have been any more accommodating and did all she could to assure this was a good trip. But as far as ever traveling with Explorica again, that will never happen. And that reason is based on solely on our experience with our US based Explorica trip sponsors. We missed things formally published in the trip itinerary in Budapest because of a total lack of management of the trip by the US sponsors / managers of the trip. And this was a daily occurrence. They selected individuals on the trip they knew and were friends with and abandoned anyone not in their clique. And, granted if we had been on a different trip with different sponsors, the result may have been better, but for the cost, I’m not willing to risk it to find out.
My trip was amazing! Our tour host Jenny did an amazing job getting us where we needed to be, and keeping us together as a group. The hotels were clean, breakfasts were really good, and our guide Sandra was very knowledgeable! It was just an awesome experience! Looking forward to the next trip!

Dec 18,2024Horrible experience with payments and communication. I paid over $100 just in extra fees that were never mentioned when booking the trip. The trip it's self was already expensive over $1300. They withdrew my account a few times without giving a heads up. When I called to get it explained they basically said too bad there isn't anything they can do. Nor did they care to explain a different way to avoid those extra fees. Customer service wasn't great. Could definitely be improved.
