Today is Saturday, I went shopping only to find out my Debit card had been blocked by Altra. I called every phone number I could find. Finally I got hold of a PERSON, only to be told she could not unblock my debit card. This is the second time this week this happened. WHERE IS THE 24/7 CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was told I will have to wait until Monday to go to Altra Office. I will be going to Altra Monday and starting process of moving my money elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They continue to argue that an Audi S4 is the same thing as an Audi A4. I understand they look similar but i guarantee if they were to sell the car it would be listed as an S4. Seems pretty sketchy.
I was in the branch off West Circle Drive to make a deposit. The teller instantly made eye contact and gave me a friendly greeting. While she processed my transaction, I noticed another associate in an office behind her. He appeared to be texting or playing a game on his phone. When he got up from his desk, I couldn't help but note that he was wearing well-worn jeans, a polo shirt that wasn't tucked in, and tennis shoes. A quick glance around and I observed that only the two tellers and one other female associate were dressed and acting professionally. Three associates were fooling with the lighting and all were wearing worn jeans. One associate was in well-worn cuffed capris. I understand that our culture has become more relaxed and casual, but this is a business that deals with money and money is serious business. In all fairness, perhaps it was "Beach Day" and they were doing team building with a "hot dogs and root beer floats" lunch. As a "member" of this credit union, I feel like these people represent me, and I was embarrassed. As great as the service and products are, I would only recommend Altra to friends with the caveat, "just don't expect them to LOOK or act professional." And again, the two tellers and at least one other associate were professionally dressed and acting very professional. Perhaps there's a connection between how we dress and how we act when we're dressed a certain way.
The award for having the WORST mobile app and Tellers goes to Altra! Old fashion. This isn’t my first review for Altra they have bad reviews removed.
I was trying to pay my bills today and went to transfer money from my savings to my checking and their mobile and online banking was down for hours and couldn't get the automated mobile banking wouldn't accept my pin number. I tried several times to call back and figure something out but got nowhere and finally gave up after more than 2 hours wasting my time on the phone or trying the app/website
The process and relationship I have with my personal banker is fantastic! :)

All the banks that I have done business with, Altra been treating me the way a bank should run. I love Altra!!!
Started going through the mortgage process. Everything was going good until it was time to do the appraisal. We hit a brick wall at that point. Their appraiser couldn't do the appraisal because they said it was zoned commercial. We asked them if we get proof from the county that the home is residental per the 2022 taxes if that would be enough. I was told that she would fight with that. I had high hopes that everything was going to be ok. 6-8 hours later I asked for an update in which I was told that they wouldn't do it because it was zoned commercial. They don't fight for their clients. They just let us die and let it go. Very disappointed in Altra.
If I could give a negative star rating I would. I have had issues with Altra before, however, it did resolve. Now, I am not sure what is going on at the moment, but I will say this much: I've been faithful to sticking with Altra, and have regularly used their website. Last night however, I went to pull some cash, and the transaction was declined. I therefore called member services to find out what was going on, and was told that the account was slated for deletion. Fortunately, I was able to pull cash by using the credit card I have with Altra, but in trying to get my situation sorted out - I ran into the problem that there is no way to talk to a live person on Saturday (post-vid problem). In addition it seems my eStatements have disappeared. (A secondary problem - they keep sending me paper statements when I kept requesting eStatements). Therefore, if I am fortunate, I will be able to talk to a live person on Tuesday (Monday being a federal holiday) and get this sorted out. Last time they closed my account without notification, they blindly accepted a cross of information between me and some Guatemalan - either a drug lord, or a gun runner I forget which. In any case, it's time to find someone else to hold my money.
In person experience is good. However, most of my banking is done online. First, you cannot save your username or password in a browswer as you can with literally every other financial site (Bank of America, Discover, etc, etc) that I use. So every time you sign in, you have to type both ID's in. Second, while balancing my checking account, it logs me off ridiculously quickly, so one session usually requires signing back in 3-4 times. Third, Altra's website experiences significant downtime, resulting in no access to your account information or funds more often than any other financial site I use.
I recently applied for a pre-approval on an auto loan. The pre-approval process via phone was quick and convenient. The information (interest rates, loan term, vehicle year) initially provided was communicated clearly by the Altra representative I spoke with. However, I was disappointed to learn that the interest rate I was quoted during the pre-approval process was not the interest I ultimately received when I purchased a vehicle. I called Altra to inquire about the discrepancy. Communication regarding the discrepancy was unclear and ultimately I was told that the rates fluctuate based on the time they are submitted. I was disappointed as this was not made clear during my initial conversation during the pre-approval process and dissatisfied that Altra was unwilling to honor the original interest rate that was presented.
I feel valued & appreciated by the credit union employees each & every time a visit an Altra branch
I have been with Altra now for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed with any part or anyone in that organization. Everyone is courteous, polite and helpful. No problem has ever been glossed over or ignored. They have always been prompt
