Feb 08,2025We purchased a new mattress which arrived 2 days ago. The mattress was advertised as “Orthopaedic style Extra firm” however it feels like it's made of feathers! Not even in he wildest of imaginations could this mattress be considered “extra firm”! It couldn't even be described as “firm” let alone“extra firm”! When the item was delivered their delivery driver took it into the bedroom and ripped the plastic covering off it before I even had the chance to enter the room and we've now been advised that they won't accept the item back. The plastic covering was removed by Archers delivery driver before it was placed on the bed so how could we try it and decide if it was suitable or not?I am aware that there is a 60 day return policy however only if you've purchased a mattress cover from them and they now won't allow us to return it because it's been opened, This is despite the fact that we haven't used it, placed our own mattress protector on it immediately to ensure it was protected and contacted them immediately! The original packaging was taken away by their delivery man I'm absolutely appalled with the way we have been treated. We realised immediately that this mattress would not be suitable but there was no opportunity given to try the mattress before the covering was removed and as soon as the wrapping is removed the item is considered “used” I would also point out that neither of us requested that the packaging be removed before we had a chance to try it! I'm really annoyed and upset and don't know how we will afford to purchase another mattress. Archers offered £40 off a more expensive mattress and suggested we try sell the feather one they've sent us online – I live on a pension so I'm sure that'll be a great comfort to us when i can't pay for a heating bill this month! Please be very careful before purchasing “ortho extra firm mattress” - it feels like a bag of feathers and the description is totally misleading Extremely disappointing!! **UPDATE**** Archers got in touch this morning to advise that I could choose a different mattress, return the original one and pay the difference. It was ordered this afternoon and I should receive it by next week. I appreciate the quick response and am delighted we were able to resolve this. The staff were very helpful and I’m really happy with the outcome. *****

Feb 07,2025Campbell greeted us in arrival and left us to look around at the array of beds . He came over once we approached him regarding a query about a certain product. He was very warm and friendly,not pushy like other sales people in other places and asked us if we were sure that the bed we chose was suitable for our elderly relative. Very impressed to be allowed to wander around the store without being followed and pounced on . Would definitely recommend using this branch to anyone looking for bedroom furniture.

Feb 07,2025The salesman, Karl Briant, was immediately helpful when we entered the store to enquire about the purchase of a single bed for my Great-Niece who is 11 years old. Karl showed us various beds and mattresses and took into account that it was for a child; without any comment from her mother or me he recommended a particular mattress - his explanation made perfect sense and so we ordered that one. The entire transaction was smooth and efficient. Karl is very professional, a credit to the Company.

Lynn told us to lie on the mattress brought us a pillow, told us to lie down and relax. Lynn left us to decide without being pushy. Thanks Lynn.
