My husband and I were on holiday in India when our car insurance became due. When we arrived home we had to get cover quickly and tried another company but their call centre was noisy and conversations were therefore unclear. We then tried a comparison site and spotted Budget Car Insurance and had a good experience with the agent who made it very easy to understand the policy and we have great follow up information.

Received an email to renew my policy, of which I declined. However, budget decided to renew it anyway. I contacted them online to cancel and was informed by Josh it would cost me over £30 to do so. That’s disgraceful, especially when I never asked for my policy to be renewed in the first place. Terrible customer service, and very unhelpful and unprofessional. Would not use again!
I used a well recognised insurance comparison site to get an insurance quote like most people do. This company was one of those quotes and the one i decided to purchase. I put all the details correctly into the comparison site including a non fault claim with the correct date. I selected this company assuming everything would be fine. I added some additional items to the policy etc and then completed payment in full. Fast forwards a few days and I received a strange email from them stating I had an additional accident so when I checked some how the policy contained a date of the 1/10/23 despite having put the correct date into the comparison site of 19/10/23, resulting in them deciding to include two accidents and an increase in the policy premium of £70. I emailed them to correct the details on 7th of March, but decided to follow this up with a call only to be blamed by the advisor for the error and showed no interested in helping me. Fast forward to the 10th March I used their online chat to find out what was going on, to be told they were happy to help as long as I paid them £25 for amending the policy documents, despite it being a glitch with either them or the comparison site. Ater all 1 accident is 1 accident. No not with this company anything to get money out of you. I feel like this company hold you to ransom for an error beyond your control and do the bare minimum to correct the situation. The most ridiculous thing is I can raise a complaint and they will suspend the fee for 2 weeks to allow my complaint to be reviewed, yet their complaints take 8 weeks to deal with.
The whole process of getting car insurance was quick and easy. A very helpful lady explained everything. No hassle.

It was easy to use the website to purchase my car insurance. I had the aption for pay monthly or pay it all and it was all explained to me in a clear and easy to understand way. It was easy to get exactly what I needed, because I have a named driver and also need business use. All of the add ons were explained and I was given a clear choice if I wanted them or not. Unlike some websites that the writing is so small you are unable to read it and aren't sure what you might be agreeing to. This website is very clear and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this insurer for price and ease of use 👍
