Feb 04,2025It’s impossible to truly judge an insurance company without having to make a claim and, fortunately, we’ve never had to make one. However we have just renewed my wife’s Fiesta insurance for the fourth or fifth year running. The main reasons for renewing are good cover (on paper, at least) at a fair price plus always being able to speak to a human, who are unfailingly pleasant & helpful, whenever we’ve needed to call.

Feb 04,2025Having taken out a policy via Moneysupermarket, my heart sank when two days later, I received a text/email from Budget notifying me that they had found a discrepancy between my declared claims history and that registered with the Claims Underwriting Exchange database (CUE). The claim in question occurred nearly two years ago with another insurer, involved my email being phished, is still awaiting a Court hearing which will hopefully result in a no fault verdict, and continues to be an administrative nightmare which has involved me in dealing with 6 different organisations. Moreover, the email from Budget stated that if I failed to obtain evidence from my previous insurer clarifying the discrepancy, I would be liable for an increased premium. Having double checked what I had input, it became apparent that for whatever reason, this particular claim had been duplicated. Knowing in my heart of hearts that based on my previous experience, getting anything sensible from my previous insurer within the specified 2 week period was as likely as hell freezing over, I rang Budget. Although I had a 10 minute wait, the automated data input of my policy details ensured that Julie was able to quickly verify me without a protracted interrogation and having explained the problem, was immediately able to not only agree with my view the claim was duplicated, but remove the duplication without further recourse to my previous insurer. I can honestly say it made my day!

Feb 03,2025Insured with this company 5 days ago due a great price so paid the deposit and within 2 days asked for proof of no claims so sent it over and thought all was good ……….the next day I received a revised premium price because I hadnt disclosed a non fault claim…..this is a non fault claim so not my fault and can’t possibly be penalised for someone hitting me so I thought but I was wrong because not only did my premium go up by £1200 but also I was called dishonest and eventually the very rude lady hung up on me.Called back and cancelled with another rep and most of my deposit has been refunded hence the 1 star. I cannot understand how and why you are penalised for someone hitting you ?????
