Jun 18,2024CarBrain did a fine job and my assigned rep (Ada) was very professional and courteous. The only issue I had with CarBrain itself was that I wasn't comfortable sending photos of my vehicle's signed title before seeing the confirmed check I was expecting to receive. While getting confirmation in writing regarding the $$ amount I was to receive for my vehicle, I sent all the vehicle pictures, description of damages, proof of my lien release letter with a photo of my UNsigned title (as proof that i had possession of it), etc. After escalating the issue up the chain, we were able to proceed with the sale. I understand both sides were making sure the other was legit but I think the process could have been a bit smoother/quicker based on all the proof I had provided. The main issue that I had dealt with was somewhat out of CarBrain's control - which was the towing partner that was used. First off, for some weird reason, the lot number where my vehicle was to be towed to was already taken in their system! Not sure why or how but fortunately they figured that out. Next, whatever I asked for regarding pickup options, they kept only to their 8am-noon or 1-5pm slot offerings. Due to my work, I kept trying to get a midday time slot but they wouldn't accommodate. I contacted Ada at CarBrain and she expressed that she would contact the tow partner and for me to try them again after that. A while later I called the tow partner back and again they gave the same options as before! I said didn't CarBrain contact you about my request for more feasible tow hours? They said they had not been contacted and there were no notes which left Ada and myself very perplexed. After going in circles trying to get a tow date/time that worked in my schedule, the tow partner's manager finally agreed to a midday pickup. Unfortunately, the phone reps didn't seem to notate or communicate much with the tow drivers who still called me several times for the tow after 8 and 9am hours. I did not answer since I was working and had already told them as much. I had also given my community gate code to the phone rep but the tow driver never received that info either, so I gave it to him by phone (once I was ready for the midday tow). Lastly, my vehicle's battery was dead so I asked if they could give it a jump so that I could clear out personal info from the system's navig, destinations, contacts, etc. They could not guarantee that the tow driver would have jump capabilities or if he did, the battery jumping components might be drained by the time he got to me. I ended up using my other vehicle to give the dead vehicle a jump and was able to clear and reset to factory settings before the tow truck arrived. Overall, I'm glad to have sold my vehicle to CarBrain as Ada and the tow driver were both very nice. I think Carbrain could improve their processes for folks not comfortable with signing away their title deed before seeing the promised check in the agreed upon amount. I also think the tow company used could have been more flexible with pickup times and better at communicating with each other in house as well as with the drivers. Even though it wasn't a completely smooth process, I would definitely use CarBrain again.

With a few details about my van, Carlos Garcia gave me an offer that I was happy with and set me up with Swift Auto Salvage to come and pick up my van and pay me. I got my offer around midnight on Friday and Swift responded with a pickup time of 10am on Monday. I was a little skeptical because everything was handled by text. I checked in with my contact at Swift on Monday morning and got a response that the eta was 9:55 am. I was prepared to hang out several hours thinking traffic or dispatch problems might delay the original 10am pickup time. Nope. At 9:58 am I was shaking hands with the pick up driver from Swift. We made the quick transaction and they were gone with my van shortly after 10. I've been around a long time and can't think of very many tranaction I've made over my 65 years that has gone so smoothly. Carlos checked in with me throughout the process and offered to help me if I had any questions. From beginning to end, everything went smoothly.

Emails and text messages came steadily during the process. Carlos was right on top of it. The only thing that went wrong was with the local partner picking up the vehicle. I waited the entire scheduled day with no word until I called them late in the afternoon. They ended up coming early the next morning.
