Six months after moving in, and we are very happy indeed to be living in our new home at Broadleigh Park. The house itself is well designed with quality finishes and the whole estate is nicely laid out and attractive. There were a few fairly minor snags at first which, all but one with a third party supplier, were rectified within a couple of months by the trades people on site. Karen and others in the sales team have been great, courteous, welcoming and efficient and we are very grateful for their support along the way.

Shocking from top to bottom, not fit for purpose Equinox 2, shambollic company , zero customer care, we purchased one our son purchased another ours was so bad on Equinox 1 that we took a hit and sold the place our son still has his but only because the workmanship is so bad he would struggle to sell it , we are rectifying the issues ourselves due to a total lack of interest from customer services an site managers.

Maintenance team were booked to do badly creaking floors upstairs, several blown tapes+ redecoration & a few other minor jobs. When they didn’t turn up I contacted cavanna to be told they would be here at 3 pm ( to do at least a days work ). Any outstanding work will then be completed on 6th April. This is on top of the side door & front door that’s been reported to them several times in the last 15 months. Unbelievable lack of respect. Just taken another day off. Next step is solicitors. Would be no stars if that was an option. New home holders should be allowed to hold a 10% retention until all works have been dealt with Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately all four bedrooms upstairs need re-doing & im expected to move all furniture due to incompetence. The appointment you mention had been booked in for minimum of 6 weeks & all that was done was to reaffix dishwasher in place after your last repair.

Coming to almost 2 years I have been in my Chinkwell property on the Cales Reach Development. Had no end of trouble with my front door. It hasn't been hung right from day 1. The heating thermostat is placed oppostie the door, so the cold weather had my heating working overtime, in an energy crisis! I've paid myself to have the controls changed. As for the door, 4 visits so far, last from the QM who said both door and frame need replacing-not heard a thing back, and its still freezing out! Fefa, on Customer Service told me to put draft excluders against the door-1, I shouldn't bloody have to and 2, its along the top and the bottom of the door! She's as much help as a chocloate fireguard with the urgency of a sleeping sloth! Still have a hole in the ensuite bathroom, following a leak from the upper bathroom, which 2 visits to fix, and the plumber depressed the top bath room sink plug, which stuck fast. Can't use it till its fixed. I have called and emailed to log all the problems, NEVER hear anything back....

It has been an absolute pleasure buying a home through Cavanna. We knew they were the developers for us as soon as we sat down for our first appointment, and we didn’t even know we would proceed to buy a house with them at that stage. Everyone from the start was extremely helpful and had all the answers to any questions we had, we never once felt like there was anything we weren’t completely in the know about. Each person we spoke to was approachable and very honest from the start, we really felt that we could trust them and that was a hugely important factor for us. We were unsure about whether we wanted a new build or an old build, but the process with cavanna was so smooth and easy if we ever bought again we would go through them! The quality of our home is superb, and the snaggings (mainly just the odd paint touch up) were sorted out very promptly and every worker was friendly and did a fantastic job. Our questions were answered promptly and in depth, also we were checked in with regularly after we moved in to make sure we were settled and didn’t have any problems. The customer service was truly wonderful, these people absolutely made the experience so positive for us. As first time buyers we had no experience of buying a house and didn’t know what to expect, and by the time we got the keys we were confident in knowing everything we had to sort such as arranging bills and who to contact in certain circumstances etc. Cavanna made us feel really comfortable and confident in our house buying journey and I would recommend them to anyone. Our home is absolutely wonderful and we are in love with it!

So I've had multiple issues with Cavanna since I bought my house on the Equinox 1 site. The latest one is a member of their customer service team putting the phone down on me when asking a legitimate question! I wish I never bought a cavanna home as they're a terrible company to deal with!

PLEASE AVOID!! We are still waiting 18 months from Purchasing our house for major work to be completed. We now have a damp issue in our main lounge which is getting worse by the day and we are continuing to be ignored. After yet another phone call with customer services and emails we are promised they will get back to us ‘in a few days’ and 2 weeks later still waiting. Unfortunately we are having to take legal advice now. These homes are knocked up quickly and you are sold by the beautifully presented show homes but in reality your homes will not be like this. Also - every negative review left on here Cavanna will comment that they believe someone from customer service has contacted you.. again utter BS.

We have recently moved into our new home at Broadleigh Park, Tavistock. We have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of buying a new home and watching it being built. It’s been an excited journey. Karen has always been so approachable and helpful during the process. Whenever we’ve asked to go on site to look at our plot/ house it’s been no trouble. We are so impressed with our new home and the finishing touches. We love the estate at Broadleigh park, it feels spacious and homely. It’s clear that thought goes into where the houses sit and where the windows are, for example, to avoid being too over looked/ close to one another. The builders on site are always friendly and helpful. The Customer services team that we’ve spoken to after moving in are easy to contact, however can be slow to respond and correct any problems we highlight. Like I said, we are delighted with our new home. Thankyou!

Seriously think twice about buying a Cavanna Home.. What was once a reputable builder is now an absolute joke. We live in their new development at Elm Park which is built by the same team that managed Barley Meadows in Dawlish and have the exact same terrible experience. We have been waiting for more than half a year to have our scratched kitchen replaced and after more than 4 attempts to replace them the kitchen company turned up with the the wrong cupboards or newly scratched cupboards.. According to Cavanna Homes scratched windows are absolutely acceptable in a new home and we are still waiting for so many windows to be replaced. This is just the top of the iceberg of the problems we had. I genuinely agree with other 1 star reviews - customer service is useless. When my husband phoned up chasing the snags the customer service advisor was yawning on the phone. Cavanna homes keep quoting the NHBC standards however as we found out they don’t have a clue what the standards actually says. My honest advice is to stay away from this company if you can. If you’re already down the rabbit hole do not rely on Cavanna Homes as they will do nothing but belittle you and gaslight you into accepting a home that’s not built to NHBC standards. Don’t be fooled!

Where to begin, maybe it's been over two years and still issue from when we moved into the property have still not been resolved. We had a leak, which was the fault of the builders back in March, this has damaged the vinyl and to date this has still not been replaced. Several cracks in our bathtub, which has been looked at by several people from cavanna and again nothing has been done about it. Several issues with the poorly constructed kitchen, which have still not been resolved in over 18 months. The list goes on. I contacted their customer service team, but nobody ever comes back to me. I am sure they just deleted or ignore our e mail. Its about time you got your act together!

My wife and I moved into one of the first homes at Elm Park and we have found the company to be absolutely disgraceful. We were told that the site team here have just finished at Barley Meadows (Dawlish); it’s clearly evident that these cowboy builders are continuing with the same poor quality of workmanship. Cavanna homes have been unable to adhere to the NHBC standards they so frequently reference, the trades/staff are careless and incompetent; the company has the worst customer service we’ve experienced. Sadly they are no longer a ‘reputable’ local builder and it’s clearly evident from the number of poor reviews that continue to highlight the same issues. We moved in May and it’s no surprise that we still have numerous issues outstanding in November despite chasing for months.

Where to start. We bought our house in Cales reach in March 2021, and we’re told we would move in at the end of June. At the start of June we were told we would be in at the end of the month and so have up our tenancy and moved out. Midway through June we had no communication and eventually after much chasing were told we would not be in at the end of June. We were homeless, thankfully my in laws allowed us and our dog to live in with them. We had very little communication through July and August with me having to constantly chase. We were given 4 or 5 moving in dates during this period and all were missed. We finally got the go ahead for the end of August. Hurrah we thought. However, the sales teams incompetence nearly caused a catastrophe as despit me chasing they had failed to notify the solicitors which may have then resulted in funds not being drawn down in time. Wonderful! To make matters better, the sales lady decided that the answers she received from my wife were not good enough and so called me instead. Thank the lord a director getting an angry email helped with this, and by some miracle we were in at the end of August. However, this was just the start of the issues. We completed a snagging report, and had paid a professional to complete the list. This was handed in on time, and I had discussed it with the then site managers. We had some minor issues rectified. Since these site managers left in about January, I have had absolutely nothing rectified. I am awaiting a new front door, I was told by the company that this was required as ours was in a sorry state when we moved in. We have been told that it is not repairable and yet we still have people coming to try and repair it. The slate windowsills are all damaged, and we have had no contact. We have an internal door, but no one to fit it. The shower door in the en suite still leaks. I will at this point mention that we had a small leak from the main bathroom, I removed the bath panel and saw just how mouldy it was underneath. Plumber arrived and told us that the mastic had gone and the overflow drain was not fitted correctly. Apparently this is our fault. I’m fairly certain mastic should last longer than 12months. And isn’t it amazing that they can contact me within 2 days to tell me it’s my issue, and yet I have had virtually no contact for a year of chasing snags. Now, aside from the dangers we elected to landscape our garden as there was an 850mm slope from top to bottom which was a waste of space, and although I have been told that the garden should have been 2 tiered with a retaining wall through it on the original drawings. This was then changed for cost reasons. Brilliant. But we have been landscaping and the 2 inches maximum of topsoil came off no issues. What we the. Found was all hardcore, lumps of tarmac, a shoe, leftover lunch wrappers, bricks, blocks and general builders detritus. In essence our garden was good for no one and there is no surprise that even grass wouldn’t grow. So in conclusion. The houses are nice but don’t expect to get anything fixed, the garden are dreadful. The customer service is shocking.

Customer Services is shameful. Following the email from Andrew Addison (Operation Director) that there would be improvements in the service, I decided to give them a chance to do something, well anything. Here I will give you an example of the lack of response /support / information / progress that we have encountered and some of these issues have been outstanding since our 14 day list, so Feb 2022 Example 01/08/22 – Email sent to Customer Services (CS) with all outstanding issues plus a few more that have come to light as we live in our home 03/08/22 – CS called, and we went though my email, one of the points we made was to be realistic with dates even if it means we are going to have to wait a while for actual work to be completed. I was promised a full email response by no later than 12/08 15/08/22 – Although later than the agreed date, I received a call to apologise and that I would have an email response by COB. 18/08/22 – Email sent to CS stating that no email was received on 15/08 as promised 19/08/22 – CS emailed again to apologise and say they are working through the list. What I am not sure of here, is how they were ever going to respond on 15/08 if they have not worked though the list and that there are zero updates 22/08/22 – on a different email chain I received a response from CS stating that they need to respond to this email but no indication of a response 29/08/22 – Email sent to CS requesting an update to my email sent to them on 01/08 with what progress has been made on our items. I did inform them that I would be escalating and completing this Trustpilot review and giving them until the end of the week. Cavanna obviously don’t care as they didn’t even deem to respond. While all of this has been ongoing, we decided to start to renovate the garden as I am a keen amateur gardener. As I have previously had a new build, so know what to expect with small items of rubbish. However, what I didn’t expect to find was a full floorboard (3’ x 8’), plywood (3’ x 5’) and a full granite type block. We have had to depose of this rubbish, no wonder the grass was all dying, and we are now wondering what other rubbish we find as we continue. I have emailed Cavanna on 22/08 and did get an initial response 25/08, but as per usual nothing since. What actually makes this worse was that I asked the sales team about rubbish in the garden and was promised there would be no rubbish and only quality topsoil would be in the garden. Well we have to use a pick axed to dig the garden and we are having to use soil improver / compost as even lavender is struggling to survive!! If this is an improved service then I think there is no hope for the standard service that Cavanna promises on their website and the Guarantee that they detail offering 2 years maintenance guarantee, it feels like they are dragging everything out so that they don’t have to fix items. We have already been told that there are items that will not be fixed, well until I pointed out that these were on the 14 day list and then there was a quick back-track. Examples of what we are waiting for The dream kitchen Cavanna promise you, well we are still awaiting replacement doors, the replacements that we did get were all damaged too and don’t expect the soft-close to work apparently you have to push the doors harder. The extractor we were promised wasn’t fitted but they fitted one in a cupboard and it doesn’t work over the full size hob, we know of several homes where these have been replaced due to the cupboard blistering & peeling Tiling – check this carefully, we had to have the whole w/c re-tiled as we had over 50 chips. This was eventually completed, but yet again we are awaiting decorator to repair ceiling, doorframe and the mastic person to seal everything. New Front Door, how long can it take to order a door, over 7.5 months and counting as the first replacement was given to another house and the next 2 were incorrect. On top of all the internal issues, there is now an issue with the underground infrastructure and this needs to be bought up to the correct standard before the final surface can be laid. It now appears that there will not be a plan in place until the autumn when the weather then start to deteriorate, so we are expecting work to be delayed for this as Cavanna never seem to deliver on time! Other than all our issues we do like the design of our house, but we want this to be our home and we need our issues sorted for this to happen.

I have lived in my new home 21 month's and have had so many issues with tge standard of the build quality and even more problems with customer service, they either take weeks to get back to you or ignore you completely. We have had an issue with the ceiling in our kitchen they repaired it several months ago and it is coming away again, I sent photos to customer service and I only received an automated reply, one person replied to one issue where the carpenter's fitted a small piece of wood to fill a gap between the door frame and stairs saying it wasn't a problem, I didn't realise they were a carpenter!! They are such a poor company and tell you they will sort everything out but that is a lie. Our driveway started to blister up over a year ago and the site manager lied about a report being written and it took us contacting a senior member of management to sort this out, but we are still not satisfied as the drive has not been fixed. Quick to tell you how good they are but very slow at helping the residents. Fingers crossed they will do the things they say they will.
