Really efficient process and clear report and valuation. Even more efficient this time, than the first time we used your company! The only thing I would suggest is perhaps an estimate of the costs of remedial works as recommended in the survey report, would be helpful too.

What I would have expected. Appears to be a comprehensive and timely survey. Only criticism is that I have been unable to speak with my actual surveyor, something I have always done in the past. Despite several phone calls, I have instead been directed to use email, which has then not been answered anyway. Sometimes it is nice to talk.

EDITED REVIEW: My first review was very positive as soon as I had gotten my report. In my excitement at buying my first house it seemed great, lots of pages and lots of areas covered. But when I looked at it and when I had bought the house I quickly realised the report was very broad and every area with any actual concerns was left with 'I am not a certified ~area of concern~ so I would say it's not 100% and can't be held liable for anything. It's the equivilent of your dad coming round, looking at something and going 'Yeah...that doesn't look 100%. For instance: They said the roof was fine, they used 'High-powered binoculars' to look at the roof and 'apart from a couple of cracked ridge tiles the roof should see many years of use with regular maintenance'. 4 months in and we're getting the guttering done, turns out the roof is in a horrendous state and many roofers have told me it's a disgrace that a surveyor should even give a pass on that. The tiles were near 20 years past their end shelf life and the back extension had flashbang instead of lead flashing as well as a dry-verge that was hammered into the mortar and wasn't doing anything. This last additin was at head height too, no high-powered binoculars needed. The surveyor said they 'couldn't find the stopcock to test it' so they just didnt. Turns out it was where you'd expect it to be and the then-owners knew exactly where it was so the surveyor hadn't talked to them at all. When I complained they basically said 'he's not licensed as a roofer..or boiler repair...or electrician and he told you get someone else out to give any kind of actual report'. The best part about my email to them? I told them that the report states the doors and joinery are in perfect working order, when they aren't. Most doors on this house have hinges too small for the doors so the wood is splitting and most of the doors didn't close properly when we moved in, the kitchen door still doesn't. When I raised they said 'yes it does, he tried the kitchen door and it closed' to which they followed up with a picture of a door closed that wasn't the kitchen door. I asked for a picture of my kitchen door and they still haven't replied. My advice? Don't bother getting a surveyor, not from here at least. If you know something may be wrong, ask an electrician or a roofer or someone actually certified to inspect that element of your to-be property. Not recommended.

I have used C and C for three times, and also recommend it to my friends. Their reports are comprehensive with photos, which give me a full picture of the properties. Rebecca is alway professional and patient to me when I need explanation and guidance.

Great service from start to finish! Emma took my initial call, talked through the process and was prompt and efficient in getting the quantity surveyor into the property. I was initially unhappy with the survey report, which seemed to indicate need for further consultations with various specialists to check-out electricity, water pipes etc. when there were no visible signs of any issues. Rebecca from C&C got in touch -then pretty much chased me down as it was a busy week and I wasn't making time to get in touch- until she went through the report and explained that that's pretty standard with these surveys, and pin pointed the two areas that had visible signs of concern...she spoon-fed me the information, which is what I needed at that moment, thank you. I do recommend C&C, and thank the team for their help.
