I'm afraid that this was the worst customer service experience of the year for me. I think I was very nice giving Chris many extra months to fix me coat. I think maybe 6 months in total. When she finally sent the coat it was to my old address and then it disappeared. I did give her my new address many months before so there should not have been a problem. My coat disappeared and Chris refused to talk to royal mail about it. Now, apparently my signature was signed, which was very unicorn and fairies to me, because I no longer lived there. I don't think she had sent the package with the correct insurance or tracking. Eventually I wrote to citizens advice after Chris proceeded to try to buy me a new Gloverall coat from substandard Amazon. My Gloverall was bought from the website and the coat was not a colour match nor the same make. I asked Chris to send me the link of where she was buying it, but she literally insisted on a screenshot. Chris! We have google search, we can find out where you took the screenshot - Amazon for just over £150. My coat was nearly £400. So miraculously the coat was found and returned in a shoddy box, It smelt bad and the work was terrible, I'm sorry Chris but the stitching did not match the colour of the coat and the colour of the patches was too harsh for the soft beige. The weirdest thing is that I felt like this was my fault at the start and offered to pay Chris for the work again because she had lost the coat. Lol! Well Chris accepted and asked me to put an extra £90 into PayPal. I threw the coat out, bought a new Gloverall and am now out over £90 with this company, plus the loss of a beautiful Gloverall Duffle Coat.
I was very pleased with CD service. They perfectly shortened sleeves on my leather jacket. All done within 2 weeks. I highly recommend and will use their service in the future.
I recently sent a jacket into the Clothes Doctor, at first I thought it would sort my Burn and Misding poppers, so i ordered the Buy now pay later for £30. I sent it in an a week after it arrived they replied despite me sending a diagram and information on what I needed done, despite offering a steep quote they told me it could be done for £48. It took almost 3 weeks later until I'd seen that any work had been done aswell as ignoring countless emails from myself,it then took another 10 days to have the next part of the work done after I paid the second invoice. By the 1st of June the work on the sleeve was done despite it supposedly a 7-10 day job. They then took 3 weeks to source Poppers although I'd assumed that they'd of been sourced previously, and by july these had been fitted and sent in the post with the Clothes Doctor not replying for 3 weeks in between. Today I received my jacket (despite paying for first class) it arrived 5 days later. To my disgust the jacket seems were poorly done, already coming apart and in a state where I'd be scared to wear it. So in 4 Months they've done a weeks worth of work to a poor standard. I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed
Great repair service with decent turn around. Recommended!! I
I'm so pleased and surprised! My clothes look better then when it was new. Very quick and reliable service! Totally recommend!
I sent three items of clothing to the Clothes Doctor. A shirt with enormous leeves, which they promptly made normal size and two pairs of jeans, one with massive rips and holes and the other with button-loops that had become loose and worn. They fixed all of them to the point that the clothes look like new. The quality of the work far surpassed my best excpectations. Their service was quick, easy to deal with a decent price - certainly cheaper than throwing the clothes away and buying new ones.
Nothing but positives. A jacket with a burn hole in it, a woollen jumper with holes under the arms and a favourite pair of jeans with a broken fly zip - all mended within 7 days at a very reasonable price. Feels great to be able to repair clothes instead of throwing them away. Will 100% use them again.
I was relieved and very satisfied with the long, specialised zip Clothes Doctor replaced on my padded anorak. They also repaired an open seam in the lining. It took some time for them to source the zip, which had to be specially ordered but that was to be expected. They could improve their office efficiency. For example, though I placed my order on the ninth December I had to inform them several days later that I had still not received my carrier's collection bag...whether this was the fault of the Clothes Doctor or the carrier firm I don't know...there was no explanation. Also a standard size bag was sent, not the large one specified. I was given a wrong delivery date at the end of the process too, stayed in ready to receive my repaired garment and it didn't arrive until the following day because it had only been posted second class. Little things like that detracted from the high standard of the work itself. I wrote a long email to Clothes Doctor saying what I have said in this review, but have received no reply. The live chat facility is very good...but emails sent were not replied to.
Clothes butcher more like. After taking 4 weeks over what was said to be a 10 day job they returned my clothes looking as though they had been altered by someone with no sewing experience. Shortening resulted in sleeves that do not hang straight with enormous, lumpy, machined hems, and trousers with hems several inches deep. I could have done much better myself and I wish I had never taken my clothes anywhere near them. T
Concerned. I sent my garment to them over 16 days ago, despite many attempts for an update or progress i have had no response. I also find any company who refuses to have a voice call access extremely concerning when there is no other method of directly contacting them via webchat etc. # edit ive had a response so will hold my review until received.#
I sent my dress to be fixed, and it was returned to me smelling like a dog had sat on it for a week. I complained to the management, and their response was "we know nothing about this". Finally after about 3 weeks and several emails, they offered to dryclean for me, but then never followed up with instructions. They care not at all for the clothes, and care even less for the customers. No one seems to know what is going on, I kept being passed between Alyssa and Chris, and having to explain the situation again and again. Really awful experience.
I am very impressed with the service provided by Clothes Doctor. Polite, efficient and effective - I asked CD to repair a tear in the pocket of a lovely leather coat. The repair took about 10 days, the stitching is very neat and I am pleased with the result. Happy to recommend.
These ladies worked miracles repairing my jacket and brought it back to life after years of neglect. Thanks ladies
Terrible experience with this company. Having spent hundreds of pounds with them having a few suits resized, they sent back the final (brand new) suit absolutely covered in dust. I emailed them to ask what had happened. It took them several days to reply. When prompted again they claimed that the suit bag they used must have been dusty (it must have been mostly made of dust to make my suit look like it did, but ok). They offered (inexplicably) to send me a brush??. I explained that the suit was incredibly dusty and sent them a picture . They arranged for it to be dry cleaned and returned. However, it was returned 4 days after they promised it would be so I couldn't wear it to the wedding as planned (the only reason I had it resized in the first place). They've offered to refund none of the fee. In short, disorganised, poor quality control and inability to resolve problems that they've caused themselves. Very, very poor.
I have just had a great first experience using The Clothes Doctor. I think that this is a fantastic idea for a company and so far, the customer service has been excellent. I was continually updated with regards to the status of the repair. When I received the item back, I thought the repair was excellent and my customer was equally as happy as I was. The item came back beautifully packaged and the item had been cleaned too. It was explained to me upon receipt of the item, that it would cost a little more to repair than initially quoted. However, I feel that trying to quote for garments over the phone/email and via photos must be difficult and didn't feel that the repair was overly expensive, so it didn't bother me. I'm looking forward to recommending The Clothes Doctor to our customers if and when they need alternations/repairs and working with them in the future.
Unfortunately this experience was very mixed. The good: very responsive customer service and good quality workmanship. The website is also very easy to use. The bad: overcharged due to an error where they miscounted the items. I only realised this after adding up the invoice - which is particularly concerning because I would not normally check an invoice’s math... they refunded me immediately after I pointed it out but it didn’t instil confidence. Another issue was the timing -it took over two weeks to be ready for collection at the London office. I was promised a collection time after a week and a half but it wasn’t ready and I wasn’t notified. And finally, requests for a discount to reflect the issues and delay were unanswered. Overall, I would not use it again because the service is more expensive that a local tailor but no faster, more convenient or reliable.
Placed five orders with CD over the last 2 years. Super service; quick, easy and efficient
Absolutely brilliant! I've recently had alterations done for a new linen jumpsuit as it was a little loose but I couldn't resist buying it. I was first worried about self-pinning but it sits perfectly now! They guided me through the process of self-pinning and I am happy I gave it a go as the final result is exactly what I wanted, I actually think the stitching looks better than it used to when I purchased it :D My first positive experience with Clothes Doctor inspired me to send them my favourite leather jacket for repair, the lining had many tears after years of wear. It came back yesterday with a new beautiful lining and I love it!
I sent detailed pictures of an item that needed to be repaired. They counted me and I agreed. A week after sending the items, I got an email saying that I had not been specific enough about the repair and that I had to pay extra 32 if I wanted it to be repaired. After speaking to them over the phone, and explaining that I had sent a detailed picture of everything that needed to be repaired, they told me that I should have stated specifically what needed to be done. I cannot do that as I am no expert and do not know how to name/describe things and that's why we agreed I would send pictures. They were not not willing to reach any understanding and even told me that I had sent the item with a piece missing, which is not where near true. Terrible experience, would not recommend.

Dec 18,2020Excellent service! I sent three much-loved cashmere jumpers for repair and clean, they came back in excellent condition. Communication with Ellie was great throughout and I was very happy with the turnaround time. I have happily recommended Clothes Doctor to friends and family.
