It looks like my 1 star review is no exception to this site. Several years ago we enjoyed good food & pleasant service in Asda Northwich. My wife has been abroad looking after her elderly mother for almost 3 years, so on her return we enquired about the £1 senior lunchtime soup & tea. We were told it finished in Feb this year. My wife had had little breakfast so decided on a daily brunch whilst I only wanted a cup of tea. We were informed the egg cooker/plate was u/s so they would substitute the eggs with hash browns & chips. We paid & had no sooner sat down than the plate of food was on the table. Everything, was at the best, lukewarm with greasy bacon & no hash browns. Rather than complain, my wife, being hungry, ate what she could in view of the low temp of the food. We shall certainly NOT be visiting the Northwich branch again unless it is for a HOT cup of tea in passing. Disgraceful, no milk jugs( customers steal them, I was told!) . Yesterday by contrast we went to a nearby Morrisons for lunch & found good HOT food. Time that Compass higher ups called on an unannounced visit to see what all the bad reviews are about. I realised that at 1 pm ,a period that most good cafes are busy is not the case in Northwich with only around 4-5 tables occupied. Why are there never any responses from this company? Looks like they are quite happy receiving 87% of 1 stars !
Eurest have ruined the canteen where I work at for Royal Mail. Limited opening hours that do not cover all shifts and working hours, pre ordering of food, Sandwiches left to go hard all week and pies and sausage rolls kept warm for hours. Their zero waste policy is because you see ZERO food in our canteen since this terrible company took over. Deserve less than one point.
While Medirest as a company may have good policies, some managers fail to implement them fairly. Employee well-being and work-life balance should be a priority, but in my experience, certain manager show little flexibility or understanding. I requested a day off for an important personal reason, yet I was given an unreasonable response, forcing me into an exhausting schedule despite the long travel involved. This lack of consideration creates unnecessary stress for employees. I hope senior management takes steps to ensure all managers treat employees with fairness, empathy, and respect. A more supportive approach would create a healthier and more productive work environment for everyone.
This company employs bullying, harassing and insulting management. I have worked in many restaurants worldwide as a Chef and Front-of-house. Upon starting at a school kitchen as a Chef, I was told by the kitchen manager how to prepare and cook the meals. After following his instructions to the letter he complained that the food was tasteless inappropriate. The next time of cooking the same menu. I prepared and cooked as I been trained in the country of origin. The manager had not witnessed how I cooked this meal and said it was much better than before saying because I had followed his recipe. I explained that I had not followed his instructions and he then accused me of deviating from the recipe. I explained I had not. I had just prepared and cooked it in a different way. He stormed off muttering insulting remarks. This continued for months I also witnessed him making sexual comments to the female members of staff and reported this to the area manager. I was then moved to another school and shown the kitchen for about 5 minutes before the area manager left me there alone. I discovered that there was hardly any food in the fridges, freezers and storeroom. When the assistant arrived they were so nice and apologised saying the previous chef refused to place a food order as they were leaving. I was then told it was my fault for there being no food at the establishment. This area manager then erupted into a torrent of verbal abuse and insults. I once again made an official complaint. I left and was then moved to another school. Upon starting I was told by the manager that she did not like or want men working in her kitchen and that she had made sure the other male worker was sacked. I again made an official complaint about this manager, so that was three official complaints in less than two months. In all my years of working in the catering industry I have never had any complaints about my skills , professionalism or attitude. Upon having a meeting with an area manager about the complaints I had made. Insread of dealing with the extremely toxic, bullying and sexual harassment environment within this company. They terminated my contract stating I was the one unsuitable. I would not recommend compass or chartwells to anyone considering this type of work also their rates of pay are absolutely insulting. They pay bare minimum wage even though they advertise higher pay rates. AVOID THIS COMPANY COMPLETELY
Julie @ Compass Group will not stop emailing her. I have told her 3 times I am not interested and she chooses to ignore my emails and has automated emails sent to me at 4:31pm.
Not even 1 star, these people are not even humans can give 2 fruits to a person who is fasting, if name not there on fasting list. Worst humans on earth extremely disappointed
Disappointed Never had such a bad breakfast in asda ,Penryn. Been going for years . It was all precooked ,kept warm food .breakfast for five it was like rubber ,bacon eggs ,sausage even the beens were congealed together. Spoke to customer service, who told me to speck to staff ,I did they just stood there and not said anything, not sorry ,nothing I told them that we had never left nothing on our plates nefore but we had left all plates with there food on the tables ,I took photos ,so disappointed. We all never ate breakfast but could not eat that crap .

Bad. Company. Devious miserable supervisor with no people skills. An interfering admin support with ideas above her station thinking she is management. Lying about staff members and trying to incriminate them. Awful place to work. Avoid like the plague.
If I could give ZERO stars I would! This is a corrupt company that competes in sucking the blood out of its workers. There is no respect for the workers. The management is Shit, no support for workers. They see the workers as degraded - the insignificant other. The culture of the management is toxic which promotes the modern-day slavery working environment. The company does not employ a manager who shows empathy to workers. No incentives! Utterly capitalist and fascist!
I don’t want to give one star I worked for the for 2 months and never got paid because my manager didn’t do her job and put my info in the computer and now I reallly probably gotta take them to court it’s crazy and very unprofessional how they handled this whole situation and my manager still employed there wow
Nok noget af den mest amatøragtige form for at drive en “virksomhed”. Tydeligt det er kantine og kun det. Men de prøver cafe drift og lidt selskaber. Skammelig opførsel fra skandaløse “køkkenchefer”, som tydeligvis behandler ansatte som en her og nu løsning. Holdning er, at der bare kommer en ny. Giv de fuldstændigt ubrugelige kokkeledere et kursus eller 50 (bliver nok ikke bedre, ikke de skarpeste😂)
Catering Eurest Compass Group in Amsterdam is véél te duur en ze zijn onbetrouwbaar, want ze vertrekken voor de afgesproken eindtijd. Véél te weinig eten geleverd. Schimmig verhaal over iemand op locatie die er meer over zou moeten kunnen zeggen over wat er mis is gegaan, maar na het indienen van een klacht per email, zijn ze helemaal niet meer bereikbaar. Even googlen naar reviews en dan blijkt dat de klachten bij anderen nog veel erger zijn.
I have applied to Compass group for jobs, several times but they have never answered me or replied to any of the job applications.their partner company is imploi, they are equally useless! Compass treat people with disdain. They are very useless company, people boycott them, as they look down on people.
Jeg har snart været ansat i 14 år. Været med i 2 sammenlægninger, og en del chefer. Under hele min ansættelse er jeg blevet behandlet respektfuld og ordentligt. Jeg har fantastiske kolleger og gode udviklingsmuligheder. Desværre ser det ud til at andre har haft mindre gode oplevelser. Men jeg må bare sige at jeg er meget glad for mit arbejde (og syntes maden i kantinen smager vildt godt).
Imagine a workplace where the union and HR believe that racism and using your position to sexually coerce staff members is ok...like how many different people have to report the same people before something is done I'm the 4th that I'm aware of to report them. Is compass group canada pro racism and lack of consent??? How do they still have jobs considering what they do and say in a workplace setting like I'm actually curious was shown a slip by someone literally stating hr caught them but doesn't really frown on those type of acts...its 2024...I'm literally scared for the future employees of this company how do I go about fixing this or helping people if HR and the union are in on it and close friends with the people committing these workplace crimes
My wife had been working for Compass as a kitchen assistant for 2 months, and she did a good job and was well-liked by the coworkers. (All but one obviously) One day she was verbally attacked by a female coworker, who yelled all kinds of lies and falls accusations at my wife. When my shocked wife verbally gave back, the coworker went to the kitchen-boss and told him, that my wife had threatened her, which was also a lie. The kitchen-boss didn't even bother to try to find out, what had really happened, and fired my wife right away - which obviously had been the desired result of the coworker's attack, as she must have seen my wife as a popular and therefore unwanted competitor. Now my wife has a stained CV thanks to poisonous falls accusations and a very poor leadership! I thought of going to the top of the company to have some kind of rectification for my wife, but as I have looked into Trustpilot's comments, I shall probably just be happy, that my wife has stopped at this company, even if it was due to lies and falls accusations.
This is a company that generates profits of over a billion pound sterling per year (source: annual-report-2023.pdf), but fails to provide any proper interface. Click4food has a horrible user experience, both on mobile and on desktop, and looks like it's been created in the 90s. Migrating to another school account is a horrible experience that makes no sense whatsoever. I genuinely don't understand how so many Belgian schools and employers work with this capital machine. Aesthetics, bugs, and convoluted workflow aside, my payments were always credited correctly to the account.
I have applied for numerous jobs with this company as Kitchen Assistant and have never had a response! I have the experience they’re looking for and these jobs are local to me! I have jobs pending on there hiring hub since April! Very unprofessional!!
