One of their machines stole my money. They said they'd send me a cheque for the refund. Two months later and they haven't. Thiefs.

Pay their staff absolute rubbish wages while obtaining huge profits, local job advert Moray £9.50 an hour - Full-time £9.50 an hour!!! no wonder they are missing European workers, not getting out my bed for that lol.

Went to Asda, Cribbs Causeway Bristol. Cafe run by Compass. Most of menu not available. The little that was, over 35 minutes wait... For bacon sandwich! No wonder cafe was nearly empty. Had a cup of worst tea ever. Gave one star because I can't give zero

I have applied for 3 different job roles over 3 months ago now and I have not been contacted by them at all. I have sent an email to the recruitment department and they just that the copy the email to the department leader and the latest email the didn’t even reply.

I worked for this company for three months and they have refused to pay me or acknowledge it. I got turned down and offered no help when I asked for pay. I basically worked for free. I feel so used

This is possibly the worst catering company to work for. They are inhuman, disrespectful and poorly managed. Most of all the food they produce is ridiculously awful and under the standard. If you are a parent of a school they cater never let your child eat from school. They could be eating food that were there in the freezer for years, reheated over and over again. If you are looking for work avoid compass.

Kan helt sikkert ikke anbefales at arbejde i denne virksomhed.. virkelig dårlig ledelse helt oppefra og mange af lederne som bare skal følge trop.. mange der slet ikke er kompetente nok til den stilling de er i… mindste løn og dårlige beslutninger

Compass medirest Terrible place to work They exploit their employees by not paying overtime rates,expecting employees to do more than one job,but only pay a flat rate,always short staffed because they say they are fully staffed,which means double the work for the people that work there..but then complain when work isnt done properly..awful management,who basically dont care ,and sit in their office all day doing nothing. And break their own rules sll the time...but if you do,you are in trouble. If you do "extra work" you dont get paid properly,even for what they call overtime. My wages were always wrong..work 20 hrs overtime,get paid for 8..that kind of thing... Compass are a billion pound plus profit a year company that pay rubbish wages and care nothing about their employees,even though they pretend they do... Would I work for them again Would I fu#k.

Uploaded a CV to a job site and began getting harassed by their sheffield recruitment team. I am, on average, receiving 4 emails and 2 phone calls per day and they are getting more and more aggressive and demanding, "You better ring me back" was left in a voicemail this morning. Compass should be absolutely ashamed that any of their departments are functioning like this.

My daughter works in the D D's cafe in the Range in Gosport, in Hampshire, owned by compass group, until 24th Feb 2022 she had felt she had to leave due to this company are unable to get the wages right. She started there in November 2021, lured they by her boss form Costa in Stubbington Hampshire, under the impression she would be the assistant manager, but because she can not drive the Poisson was given to a new member of staff who could drive. She was made supervisor, but the manager did not give her a contract stating her hours of work and pay rate, she went from a zero contract to 22 hours plus over time, is what she thought, but when her wages came in they had deducted all the hours over her basic hours of 88 only paid for 87.75 hours and have to date not paid her over time, my daughter has complained to her manager about her wages for the past three months and how she was not being paid her over time only to be find out her manager took two weeks to ring HR about this so my daughter, was not paid by pay day, This has been going on since she was made a supervisor, now the manager will not give my daughter the contract, and has admitted she has put the wrong contract in to HR, the contract that was put in stated basic hour of 88 without over time pay my daughter has been working over 120 each month and only getting a fraction of her true pay, today she got her wage slip and on it is the back pay but not the hours she has worked January month, tomorrow is her last day and i feel she still will not get a result and all the money she is owed.My daughter should have been paid all the hours they have deducted plus all the hours she worked last month, He manager said she had sorted it out and even the area manager siad it was sorted out, but the wage slip did not show this, in fact i don't think her manager put her hours into HR for last month because they would have been on the wage slip, showing 87.75 worked (her basic) like last month, but its funny how the managers wages are wrong and she spends all day on the phone trying to get it sorted out. nice when the boot is on the other foot. My daughter is a young person first into the work place these employers do not give a dame if they can afford to pay your rent or feed yourself, only that they get a pound of flesh out of you, so we are going to take them to court via ACAS, and i will post again on here, if you work for this company watch out they are ripping young people off , as an employee you have rights look them up! know how to deal with such injustice in the work place and claim back you self esteem. The manager of the DD'S in gosport is not inserted nor do she have any quantification in being a manager but only how much you will work, if you have a problem with your wages she will tell you 'you can not speak to HR about it as they will not talk to you, which is rubbish. You have the right to speak to HR if there is a problem with wages as it is private and confidential matter. My daughter is leaving because this situation has played a toll on her mental health and she feels she can not carry on with all the lies this company tell to get out of paying what you have earned. It is unlawful not to pay a person for hours work and I have never heard of a contract to say basic hours and no over time pay, I have asked to see the contract but this has never been produced. Please deduct the star as it is not relevant and i do not rate this company COMPASS Group you should be ashamed of what you are doing.

I currently work at Chase farm hospital which I believe is under compass as I get paid via them. at the moment I feel like I am being victimised and I do not feel confident In reporting this in my current workplace and i also suffer from depression and anxiety which males things extremely hard. I've been at this job for 2 years now and I feel like I am being unfairly treated I am being followed and spied on im clearly being discriminated/victimised against as this treatment doesn't happen to anyone else.  it has become a very uncomfortable place to work and I've now been reported and placed on a training course for simply doing my job, they claim I was doing it wrong however this has been my process for years now and Im shocked at the way in which my superiors have dealt with the situation as this could have been communicated to me or corrected quite easily.  Worst job and staff I the world no team values ...loads of backstabbing and very poor management

I had such bad experience with this company. I worked in Dublin Airport, Lounges. I was bullied day out by managers and crew. I was make fun off how my hair looked and how my voice sounded, as one point i had a large catering lid throwing at me. I was left do all the work myself, pushing heavy trolleys of alcohol and food buckets between terminals with no help, washing dishes by hand at some point, for 60 plp, preparing food, and trying run reception by myself. While others sat in the back laughing, i had no support of anyone. My private files were read by other crew memebers, as they seemed know where i lived. But couldnt prove it. I was then ordered by management to do more cleaning. My uniform was flirty every day, and my body was swollon. This not a place for girl/woman ( as a result i had heavier periods regularly and my mental health suffered badly) I had to leave because of this. I had 0 confidence left and had no idea i was suffering from Anxiety or PSD after, it took alot of time and education to realise what was going on, as if affected my outside life too. This just the short version of my experience.

I had the unfortunate chance to eat at The Hide in Bristol Zoo which I believe is run by this company. Not only was it overpriced with portions of food small, it was badly cooked. Our party had to send the chicken bun and pulled pork bun back because they were burnt. The French fries were nearly cold and because someone realised the slaw should not have been on my chicken choice they had removed it leaving trails behind. I paid £60 for four meals and four drinks and I have seen better quality food at McDonalds for half the price. If this is what you show the standard of your company’s catering then it’s really not good. Extremely disappointed and spoilt our trip to the Zoo. Since writing the above and contacting directly on their website a lady called Lucy contacted me and listen to what I felt was constructive criticism. They have refunded me in full for the cost of the meal and have stated they will give the feedback to the kitchen staff to make improvements. Thank you for listening to me. It was appreciated.

If only we could give 0 stars. Worked for this company for 3 years and throughout the pandemic without so much as a thank you from managers. After getting shifted around job positions and sectors for a year, no respect, getting spoken to like crap, covering shifts, being denied paternity leave and holiday leave (which I then got disciplined for). The company turns a blind eye to those in favor even though managers have been caught stealing. Pay is often wrong especially with the clocking in system they use which again is terrible. Only managers and favored people seem to get any kind of pay rise, even tho the company gets an annual budget per site for this. When addressing issues the company isn't bothered unless it is a manager having the issue. Also, they refused to let us have our Covid jabs during work time, which is illegal. The company as a whole is terrible and treats its staff that way, the amount of negative reviews says more than anything ever could. Compass Group and ESS are poor employers with nothing but their own pockets in mind. I'm glad to hear the company is running out of money, unfortunate for its employees who actually work and contribute yes but will lead to better things I'm sure. After waiting for years for this to change following many complaints, I'm finally leaving and I couldn't be happier! Do yourself a favour and stay away from this cretin of a company run by complete imbeciles. That, and the less staff they have the more likely they will shut down :)

Worked for this company for 12 years, before being made redundant. They used the covid excuse for making me redundant, when in fact I had a grievance in place due to my medical confidentiality being breached. They did everything they could to get rid of me, when I had done nothing wrong,bar raise a grievance against a manager.This was at a time i had been off ill after an operation and came back to work when i was better and my line manager told everyone at a staff meeting, to new colleagues i had just met that morning on a brand new installation i had just arrived at, my private medical matters. I was absolutely horrified. They then colluded to make me out a liar when i raised my grievance, and because they colluded and i couldn't prove anything, i lost all my appeals and was made redundant on the premise of covid job losses. I then found out that one of the persons who was part of my grievance, who had served less time than me with the company, and was on an adhoc contract (ie zero contract hours), was kept on, whilst i, who was on a permanent contract and core crew, was made redundant. So she lied about what happened, by colluding with them, and kept her job, while i lost mines. I went through all the avenues,and lost. I tried reconciliation, but they refused to engage. By that point, the 3 month time limit for bringing a case was up. I was part of the union, and asked them to help, but the union are in the pockets of the catering companies. They all know each other and are too familiar with each other. Not only that, the union rep gave me and others advice that was wrong or was in favour of the catering companies. One friend was owed money from the company and union said they weren't entitled. They hired a lawyer themselves, even though thats what you pay into the union for. The lawyer won them their monies due. I couldnt afford to take them to court myself, and with the union not helping, i was goosed. I paid into the union for 12 years every month. Work that one out. Absolutely terrible how they treat their employees. I had an unblemished record, and worked hard when i worked for this company. My treatment is a testament to how this company operates and treats its employees. Doesn't surprise me with the food thing going on, as even the operation managers are scamming. Everyone is in it for themselves. Well, they guys in the managerial positions in the offices are. The only good thing that came out of this are my friendships with my past work colleagues that i met. Avoid this company at all costs, and the union(unite) as well. I wouldn't work for this company now, and I'm glad i don't now. They talk about their core values, and their number 1 core value is Integrity. What an absolute joke! They wouldn't know integrity if it smacked them in the face! This company has no ethics. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!

If I had my own way I would not urinate on this company/ business if they was on fire I worked as a mess hand at ESS defence and I am glad I am out they are lower than excrement on the bottom of my shoe they give you poor pay and steal your wage and most of all cut your working hours and treatment of the staff is poor ........... I would not rate even a star at all and the kitchen is a mess 💯 of the time the smell of old grease is unbelievable for and army base 😠 poor poor poor.
