Elan was amazing! I had to book the property very last minute (under 2 weeks) because our reservation to Topsail, NC was cancelled due to hurricane Florence. The reservation was processed immediately and efficiently. Also, the property is well maintained by them. We had one very minor problem when we arrived and they responded and corrected it immediately. I wish all of our rental properties, which i normally book months in advance, were handled this well. I would definitely use them again and i highly recommend them!
A beautiful home and we loved our vacation! The crib that was there had no mattress we called and the next morning they brought a brand new pack n play to use. Thank you for everything :-)
Check in was fantastic! We were able to pick up keys on the way in, and they called when our house was ready. People were friendly and the house was clean and up to date. Great company to work with!
The house was just wonderful, had some wear, but the pool, private boardwalk to the beach, and the views made it absolutely perfect!! My whole family enoyed playing in the pool, using the spa, walking on the beach, sandcastles, flying kites cooking meals together in the very large and well equipped kitchen as well as grilling on the outdoor charcoal grill. It was so nice to just walk to the beach or pool, or do both during the same day. Great place for a family get together! Would recommend this vacation home to anyone.
We have been renting thru Elan Vacations for the last 6 to 8 years and we love the service we get. They are always very helpful and polite. We have had to call them for maintenance one time only and they responded quickly and the issue was taken care of. Nothing but good things to say about Elan and yes we recommend them to all our friends.
I've reserved and vacationed with Elan for two years. I plan to continue! They have wonderful service, their website/reservations are easy to navigate and filled with all the information you may need. Check in/out is likewise uncomplicated. Their homes are exactly what is depicted, and I've yet to be disappointed.
Absolutely horrible customer service! I had an Elan customer service representative YELL at me over the phone. The same Elan customer service representative THREATENED me over the phone and through text message. Scenario: I rented a home from Elan, in Corolla Light resort North Carolina, from Saturday-Saturday, beginning September 8. On Monday September 10, 2018, Currituck County issued a mandatory evacuation, due to hurricane Florence, starting Tuesday September 11. Originally, the evacuation order was issued for vacationers to leave at 7 AM, later the evacuation order was changed to 12 noon. I traveled from Hawaii to the Outer Banks and needed to find a place to stay out of the storm’s path. I was on a tight budget, I had already spent $2,000 on the house and I didn’t want to reserve a place only to lose money on that place if the storm tracked to the location I was evacuating to. My issue: A Elan customer service representative called me on Monday, September 10. She notified me that there was an evacuation order for the next day. I said that I heard about the order and I was researching my options of places to go. She told me I needed to be out of the house by 7 AM. I responded I needed a little more time to explore my options on where to go, the storm was still 1500 miles out in the ocean and there was no way to know where the storm would track on Monday when the storm wasn’t expected to hit until Friday. She said, no sir you will leave at 7 AM. I responded, I was hoping to leave later in the afternoon, I never got to explain why I wanted more time. She began to yell at me saying you will leave at 7 AM. I asked her to stop yelling so we could have a discussion. She yelled again and said you will be out by 7 AM. I responded that if she would pay for my next place to stay or refund me a part of the $2,000, I would gladly leave right away. She said I didn’t purchase trip insurance and I would get nothing from them. She then threatened me, by yelling if I didn’t leave by 7 AM she would have the police evict me. I hung up. Tuesday, September 11. I received a text message in the morning claiming I was putting Elan’s workers and families at risk by not evacuating. Later, I received a voice-mail with the same lady yelling that I was putting Elan’s workers and families at risk and that she would be calling the police to evict me. The thing is, the mandatory evacuation had been changed to 12 noon and she was threatening me in the morning. They even sent a worker by to tell us personally. I did vacate the premises early afternoon, but I had to scramble to find a place while trying to figure out the path of the storm on Tuesday when the storm wouldn’t hit until Friday. I left some items behind. Come to find out, Elan not only didn’t care about me, they got there money already and they didn’t offer to return the items I left behind, they don’t care about their workers. I found out that while they were rushing me to leave with threats, they were sending a cleaning crew to clean the house, even though I had it booked until Saturday and it was only Tuesday. That’s right, they claimed I was putting their workers and families at risk, but they did not have a problem sending those same workers out to clean the house. If Elan really cared, they would not have yelled and threatened me and they would not have sent their workers out to clean the house if they truly feared for their workers lives. DO NOT RENT FROM ELAN. If you are an owner, you should change real estate agencies. Elan is not even located on the Outer Banks, you have to pick up house keys before you cross over the bridge to the Outer Banks. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
This was the best vacation ever
ok so we stay at corolla coastin' the house is so roomy and big but the cleaning was horrible. Garbage left all outside (not like you couldn't see it) also dirty garbage can cover (which my husband clean because i won't touch it. Also they had a blender that had dirty stinky water or something left in it, that was so gross. Lots of flies were in the house. So the house was nice housekeeping not great at all.
My husband and I, along with our children and grandchildren (8 people total) spent an amazing week at OBX to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary We stayed at Sea to Sound which was absolutely perfect. Lots of room for everyone and we really enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop eagles nest, our morning and evening gathering spot. Picture perfect weather and a short walk to the beach were enjoyed by all. A last night farewell glow-in-the-dark pool party was the best! I would not hesitate to book with Elan Vacations again, they were very helpful and the process was smooth. The house was clean and furnishings were very nice, the kitchen had everything we needed and more.
The Crab Shack was awesome! We had the most relaxing,private, amazing beach vacation ever! The house was clean and updated. it was not the Ritz, but it was unbeatable for a beach front holiday. It was our 35th wedding anniversary. 35 years ago we honeymooned in Nags Head. I wanted my family to be with us to experience the beauty of the Outer Banks. Thank you to the owners of The Crab Shack for sharing this magical place with us. Each morning we hurried to catch the sun rise and the dolphins! It just doesn't get any better. Elan Vacations... Thank you for making our stay perfect, we will be back!

Mar 21,2019Horrible customer service. I rented Sand Dancer through Elan Vacations. The house was amazing, the filth was not. The kitchen had not been cleaned; pasta sauce on fronts if cupboards and in drawers, dirty dishes in cupboards and dishwasher, scum in sink, ants in kitchen.... washing machine was also coated with scum and dryer was full of sand. Only response when I called is that they would alert house keeping staff. The review I completed through Elan Vacations was not posted on their website nor did they follow up with me.
