Aug 05,2022Cheap and nasty. Beware. Expect what you pay for. What we got for choosing the cheapest supplier was a 15+ year-old car. It worked, but had plenty of dents, large rust pocks over most panels, front panels peeling away etc. We wasted an hour or so on return where they tried to convince us that they could spot new sand-storm damage on the 15-year old rusty, scratched paint. "I can't show you specifically... it's just a general haziness to the paint". Pickup from airport and return transfers were fine though. No hassle. I'd highly recommend paying the extra and going with a big-name brand.

Aug 02,2022They are a scam. We had to wait one hour for the representative to come and then wasted 2 hours. They refused to reply when contacted about the late arrival. No apologies, just harshness. The arrangement was meet and greet but instead dragged us off to the office and refused any contact. Car was broken and we received a manual car instead of an automatic car as promised. Total scam, do not go near them.

Aug 01,2022BEAWARE--Please DO NOT BOOK via this company. They are rip off. We had paid £1200 for 7 days for 4x4 TOYOTA RAV. We were given an old Mitsubishi which wasn't driving properly windows wont shut, and car made noise on driving. HIGHLY unsafe.... We complained and they changed the car next day gave us new Mistubishi. On return of the car they pointed some less then1mm scuff mark on window and front bonate. Which may have occured from a gravel hitting the car. That mark was barely visible. They charged us Euro 5000 from us to fix it. SHOCKING.... It is a big fraud a big scam from fair car- Iceland car rental. PLEASE DO NOT RENT ANY CARS FROM THIS COMPANY. The guy LUCAS who served us was also extremely rude, aggressive and mannerless with poor communication skills and unreasonable.

Jul 26,2022I wish I could give fair car a zero star rating. Our tire blew out and the car was in terrible condition to begin with. They didn’t cover the cost of roadside assistance and kept the brand new tire we bought. It was an awful experience. They do not care at all about people, the fact that we almost got in an accident did not matter to them at all.

Jul 25,2022Do not rent from this company! Rented a car for 14 days. The car was barely holding it together, old, rusty, worn tires that needed to be replaced, check engine service lights on, rusted and multiple scratches and bumps on body damage. When I returned this piece of junk, the manager told me that the car was damaged by sand and ashes. I could not believe it. They threatened me to call the police and made me pay $13000 of damage repairs (basically to get a new car from me!). DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AT DROP OFF ANYWAYS!

Jul 22,2022Præcis som i de seneste anmeldelser, kunne vi heller ikke betale med debit kort, uden at betale for fuld forsikring. (Vi har lejet biler med det kort i andre lande, inklusiv USA, uden problemer…) vi endte alt i alt med at betale 12.000kr for 8 dage. Transfer til og fra udlejningsstedet forløb egentlig okay, men ventetiden for afhentning af bilen lød på 2 timer!!! Bilen var et værre skrammel. Fyldt med buler og stenslag, hvilket er at forvente på Island, men det ene stenslag i ruden var så stort, at det forstyrrede udsynet for chaufføren. Ligeledes virkede vinduesviskerne ikke optimalt, den tværede bare vandet ud på ruden, og så kunne man se mindre end før. Bilen havde autopilot, hvilket er lækkert når man kører langt, men virkede heller ikke optimalt. Bilen tabte flere gange fart undervejs. Der var heller intet horn i bilen. Det var ikke en bil, man følte sig tryg at køre i. Da vi afleverede bilen, trak personalet også bare på skulderen, da vi fortalte om de fejl og mangler vi havde oplevet med bilen.

Jul 17,2022Staff very nice. Cars are older and definitely had wear and tear (rust) on them. We had some mechanical problems, but the manager was very responsive and brought us a different car within a few hours of contacting her. Her customer service was excellent.

Jul 14,2022BEWARE!!!!! Do not rent from this place !!! Stay w better known car rental companies . Rimas the manager is awful . The cars breakdown and have an odd smell . Don’t say you weren’t warned !

Jul 13,2022I went with Faircar to save $ but note to self "you get what you pay for". They seem to only have 1 shuttle running so we waited at the airport for a good 30 min and it took almost an hour to check out - the clerk checking us out was typing at a speed of a 1st grader (so all together from airport to leaving the rental car company it took 2 hrs). On return once again there was no shuttle in sight. The car had a cracked windshield but otherwise ok (old and worn but drove well). If you get a speeding ticket be aware that the company with charge you 50euros as a preceding fee. They also don't disclose that they don't allow driving on all F roads - there is an exclusion list that I had to ask for and that they emailed me after we left. The manager was a very nice gentleman who tied to help by using another van to take us to the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight. Just way too long and inconvenient of a company to work with.

Jul 08,2022Do not rent from this company! Their cars is barely holding it together, are old, rusty, no where near a safe, modern, powerful, well-equipped car. It took me so many hours and energy from my vacation so deal with that piece of junk a rented. The were friendly enough to give me a replacement car - twice - since the signal light didn’t work in any of the two first. The pickup from the airport took 1,5 hour after landing. I’m truly sad that a rental car situation stole so much space in my mind and time during a holiday with my children.

Jun 30,2022You have to wait long to het your car , they said they had there office at the airport but a few weeks before you Will get a mail something went wrong and you have to take a shuttle. Also when we want to pay the deposit , our creditcard was not working , but they immediately had a solution, we just have to take de platinum insurance for 17 days 662€ and than a deposit is not needed. We discussed about it but no other way out, so we took the insurance otherwise no car. When we hot our car it was such an old car with a lot of scratches and things, and there were already 228 000 km on it. And they only have very old Cars. Never ever! Will recommend nobody!

Jun 29,2022Vi bookede bil på discivercars.dk men endte åbenbart hos faircar. Vi havde booket med fuld forsikring. Da vi ankom, var vores transfer til bilfirmaet der ikke og vi måtte ringe efter ham efter at ventet længe. Da vi kom og skulle have vores bil, fik vi at vide at den forsikring som vi havde bestilt og skulle betale for ikke ville virke fordi vi ikke havde et kreditkort men kun et debit kort. Vi blev derfor tvunget til at købe faircars egne forsikringer til en mere pris af 1.500 kr. Faircar sagde vi kunne få forsikring retur fra discoverycars, vi bad om kontaktoplysninger og det kunne de ikke give os. De var komplet ligeglade og vi måtte bare selv finde ud af det. Virkelig elendig service. Og vi følte at de tog ”bagdelen” på os. Bilen var det værste vrag vi nogensinde har lejet. En udpint duster der havde kørt næsten 300.000 km. og som var rusten og stiv at køre i. Håndbremsen var tvivlsom og selve bremserne skulle virkelig masses i bund for at få bilen stoppet. Flere knapper manglede og der var løse lister. Strøm i cigarettænderen virkede ikke. Virkelig bare en skodbil. Da vi afleverede bilen og beskrev hvor elendig den var blev der bare trukket på skulderen og sagt at det jo også var det billigste sted at leje bil. Hvilket det så ikke var for os da vi alligevel skulle betale ekstra forsikring. Imens vi ventede på transfer tilbage til lufthavnen så vi den bil vi havde kørt i blive vasket og let støvsuget og så ellers gjort klar til de næste stakler der skulle køre i den, ingen tjek af bremser eller styretøj.

Jun 16,2022We rented a Suzuki Grand Vitara under the assumption we would get a pretty new car. The car had driven more than 250.000 km. The car wasn't cleaned and the tank was not full. Within a day the battery of the key went dead. The windshield wipers are in very bad condition. The car has many many dents and scratches all over. This car is not fit for hire. Upon check-in, they pushed me to buy extra insurance for €700. Glad we didn't do that. Really a disgrace. I would NEVER EVER hire a car from them.

De blev ved med at påstå, at vi hverken kunne betale med vores Visa eller Mastercard (selvom de på det tidspunkt allerede havde trukket penge fra vores "unvalid creditcard"). På et tidspunkt påstod de endda, at vores Visa- og Mastercard var noget internt, dansk betalingssystem, som ikke virker i andre lande end Danmark... Men "heldigvis" havde de en løsning - vi skulle bare betale 270 euro ekstra for en tillægsforsikring, og så kunne vi pludselig godt få lov til at betale med vores kort. Det hele foregik på en rigtig træls måde på gebrokken engelsk fra de polske ejere. I øvrigt bliver man kørt adskillige kilometer ud i ødemarken, før man får udleveret bilen, dvs. man kan ikke komme derfra, hvis man skulle få lyst til at droppe reservationen hos dem. Så en stor anbefaling om at holde sig lang, langt væk fra dem.

Jun 08,2022Cars are a bit dated but run well enough for a comfortable 2000km trip around Iceland. Excellent customer service all-round, especially by Aisha who went above and beyond to get us on the way quickly despite some issues with our booking via DiscoverCars broker. Big welcome smile when we returned the car, really easy to chat to and extremely friendly. This goes a long way and is a reason we will come back once in Iceland again

Jun 03,2022Rented for 17 days. The car, a Fiat Panda, had a lott of km's on it, but ran well. No issues at check in/out. No trying to sell more insurance. Rimas and Ayisha were great. Would rent from them again))

May 21,2022The whole experience so far has been 10/10. Easy pick up at the airport, short transfer, new minibus. Great terminal, soft chairs, coffee, toilets, water. Quick turnover for the car. Can't thank Ármann enough for his professionalism, humour and speedy time. My car is exactly what I need to travel locally in Reykjavik and area. The bumps and bangs on the car just show you the fun you are going to have. Take the insurance . Iceland has interesting weather.

Aug 30,2022Vorsicht - hier wird man betrogen!!! Uralte rumänische Schrottkiste anstatt des erwarteten VW Kombis. Zudem zahlt man Vorort noch eine überteuerte Versicherung. Erst danach sieht man das Auto. In unserem Fall ist das Auto keine 200 Euro wert. Ein ärgerlicher Start in den Island-Urlaub!! Aber: der Besitzer von faircar war der einzige unhöfliche, betrügerische Isländer, den wir trafen! Ansonsten nur nette und hilfsbereite Menschen, die sich für diesen Typen schämten!!
