Unfortunately I’m only able to give it a one star. The Hiplock was attached to my motorcycle with a chain and ground anchor but they still managed to steal it. I’m pretty sure they didn’t cut the Hiplock but they managed to steal my motorcycle anyway and my 2 day old Hiplock!
I had to go to the post office to pick up my order… I had to pay a import tax which I did not expect!
Quality product, well designed
This is pure quality. I love it!!
Excellent service easy transaction good communication throughout and fast delivery. Product was easy to register on their website too. I would use again.
Perfect service and product.
The lock is VERY solid, but for the price it is lacking some finessing. For example, the original Hiplock had a fitting so you could attach the lock to your hip (assume that’s where the name came from). This lock does not have anything to attach it to your hip. It’s heavy, but there are buckles that you can buy. It’s a shame it doesn’t come with one. The other thing is that the lock is very simple. I can’t help wondering if it could have some sort of built in alarm to sound a siren if someone is attacking the lock.
Product is good. I bought a D1000 pouch. Shame it did not come with the lock. As I live in France, I had to pay import duty tax on it so obviously it increased the cost. If the website was clearer about this, I would have tried to purchase it in France.
I can't use it it's too f-ing small
Great product, but lack of information regarding buying from abroad, I bought from the the website from france and got hit by customs. Didn't know there is a french retailer online. And though the product was german, ie in EU zone.
I have been using hiplok ties for a number of years now, purchased several new Hiplok’s to go along with new bike. These are great for when you make a quick stop & want to make it harder for someone to just take a bike leaning up against a wall at the local coffee shop. Easy to use, light weight. Great product.
Light and Very confortable, you can easily forget that you are wearing it. You need to get used to the lock opening system and the cover is slightly long to have a free, clean access to the chain when locking.
I recently purchased the DXXL bike lock directly from hiplok's website, and like many other customers, I had a less-than-ideal experience with the shipping and delivery process. Living in France, I was well aware that duty and import taxes could apply to my order. I did my research and calculated that the additional charges would be approximately 20% for VAT and 5% for import tax. Although this was at the upper limit of what I was willing to pay, I decided to proceed with the purchase. To my dismay, when the package arrived via Hiplok's exclusive carrier, DHL, I was hit with an astonishing 39% in duty and import taxes. What's more frustrating is that DHL was taking a significant 14% as "brokerage" or "service" fees. This exorbitant charge is completely unacceptable. I understand and am willing to pay the necessary fees, but this level of additional cost is outrageous. Unfortunately, due to my travel plans and the need to secure my bike promptly, I reluctantly paid the inflated fees. However, I strongly advise other EU residents to steer clear of using DHL as the carrier suggested by Hiplok. The extra costs amount to a staggering 40%, making it highly impractical and uneconomical. It would be beneficial for Hiplok to consider offering alternative shipping carriers to their customers. I would personally prefer paying a fixed shipping fee with a different carrier, such as the local mail service, even if it means slightly longer delivery times. This would be far more preferable than receiving so-called "free shipping" with DHL, only to be hit with hidden fees that overshadow the actual product cost. In conclusion, while the DXXL bike lock itself may be of good quality, the negative experience with shipping and the exorbitant fees associated with DHL have left me disappointed. I hope that Hiplok takes this feedback into consideration and addresses the issue by providing more transparent and cost-effective shipping options for their EU customers.
Great piece of kit and quick delivery. Really pleased with the whole experience
Great confidence-inspiring lock, very solid chain and anchor bolt. Not cheap, but who wants a cheap lock?
Ordered a pair of z locks. One was faulty. Contacted customer service and no quibble sent out a replacement straight away. Locks are great for cafe stops etc. Customer service above and beyond
A very user-friendly lock and super safe ! It is worth its price . Minus point online the site : I paid both British and Belgian VAT due to brexit .
Cannot fault this company’s response to an initial negative review. Superb customer service, resulting in my repeat custom. This time I have purchased Hiplok’s premium product the “D1000” & carry case. Whilst I wish we all lived in a world where owners of premium bicycles did not need to invest in one of these, the reality is that we all do. I wish I had a time machine & purchased a D1000 from the outset! There is no way that some “horrible bike thief person” will be getting through a D1000 with a pair of bolt cutters. Buying one of these is my way of saying “Never Again” will I loose my bike to a bicycle thief.
Good product delivered promptly.

May 29,2023I ordered a replacement key from the serial number. I thought £15 was a bit expensive however when, a week later, three keys turned up I forgot about my misgivings. Great personal service and a quick turnaround. Thank you hiplock
