Disappointing. I bought c£500 of clothing, was charged shipping and an additional £16.99 ‘insurance incase it arrived broken’ (?!?) which I definitely didn’t opt in to and I really question the legality of. I then had to phone and chase and chase for weeks to have anything delivered. When it did, the packaging had completely ripped open and the postman was literally giving me items of clothing. Some items returned/exchanged and the same story: painfully slow and needing chase ups at every stage. Dread to think when/if I’ll get the refund/exchange. When I spoke to them they were polite and helpful (otherwise would be one star) but really serious issues in fulfilment and systems. Avoid.

The true measure of customer service is not how a company sells you something; for me, it’s all about the after sales care. My son bought me a pair of Muck boots 6 months ago as a birthday present. I recently noticed a split on the upper section of the right boot. I reached out to Hollands Country Clothing, but with very low expectations - the boots had been heavily discounted and I was expecting them to say too much time had elapsed for them to be held responsible for the fault. To my complete surprise, the customer service team were super helpful, arranging a free return and replacement pair within 7 days. It’s very rare that a company exceeds my expectations by so much. Placed an order for trousers and gaiters hadn’t heard anything about order being dispatched after 4 working days so emailed. Replied to say the trousers were out of stock! Could they not have told me that 4 days ago so I could order somewhere else or a different model? Sorry but poor service I have now placed my order else where who dispatched the same day.

This is a rectifying email to my one posted yesterday. Hollands Country Clothing have now resolved the issue with my delivery. Melissa in their customer services department dealt with my query efficiently and expeditiously. I now have the item I wanted and await a refund for the remainder of my order. I am just sorry that it took several emails, a lot of stress and the worry that my grandson would be disappointed to prompt Hollands to intervene. Saying that I am delighted with the outcome.

This was my first time ordering from Hollands Country Clothing and I have to say that the service was exemplary; from the ease of the online ordering process, to the very speedy delivery. I already owned several 'early generation' Maglite torches, including a big '2D Cell' model over 30 years old and still working perfectly. However, the little XL50, has now effectively made them all redundant; being super-compact, extremely bright in the 'high' mode and very simple to operate. For those wanting an LED torch minus the confusing array of different operating modes, I can highly recommend this brilliant little torch.

UPDATE…. I have since had my delivery of 2 jackets. One was returned as I ordered 2 for size. I have come on here again with the update. I want to state that the customer service for this company is absolutely OUTSTANDING, there are not many companies I would say have 5 stars but Melissa was amazing. So yes, I posted a moan but I take it all back due to the high standard of customer care. Would definitely buy from here again. I too was misled with the delivery timeframes and dispatch times. I have paid £5.95 for DPD but I’ve just read that next day is not a guarantee (1-2business days) Website is not at all clear. Up to 4 days to dispatch an order is unbelievable and then another possible 2 days for a delivery. Surely advertising next day delivery is misleading. I should have read the reviews on here first as I would never have entertained this.

Recently purchased the Cotswold Burton Hiking Boot from Hollands, have issue with my ankle and need a boot that can support, contacted them by email and received the most helpful information from Sarah which ended with my purchase along with a Ridgeline Women's Rhea Jacket which is hands down best jacket I've purchased in years and both items are perfect for dog walks in all weathers!! Cannot fault the customer service and delivery, extra bonus is they are right on my doorstep so keeping it local, love to support my local community. Thank you Hollands Country Clothing.

Ordered a rather expensive pair of boots, which should have been a birthday present. Dispatch time was 3-7 working days, however at the added sum of approx £8, DPD next day delivery is listed as an available option...... This is NOT next day delivery and does not affect when they ship the items out to you. I called to chase this up and the operator, could do nothing but tell me that the dispatch times are listed and the purchase of a quicker delivery option does nothing to affect when they actually send the items out to you. Called customer services to chase up the order, nothing they can do, no refund of paid for next day delivery which was not received and could take up to a week to process a refund for the actual item. Extremely misleading, bordering false advertising and once they have your money, no concern for customer care.

This was the first time I had used the company. As seems to be common with Hollands, I had an issue with the order not being dispatched within the promised timescales. It also seems misleading to allow customers to pay for express shipping when you are stating that dispatch will take 3-5 working days (I admit I missed the dispatch timescale until after I had made the order). Anyway, I contacted them once the stated dispatch time was missed. Hollands refunded the shipping charge and gave me some excuse about why it would take a while to dispatch the item. I ended up cancelling the order and I won't use them again. We got the item in 2 days from elsewhere. Only reason that I haven't given one star is that, when I contacted them, Melissa responded quickly and the order was cancelled without issue.

Shocking customer service . Ordered and paid for 48 he delivery , took 24 days which is a joke . Had to chase a number of times and said they would give me 48hr delivery as a good will gesture (I paid for this) No communication. Items where ok when finally received

I’ve used them before a few times & deliveries have always been an issue. I recently order something pretty simple from them, a pair of Wellingtons. I ordered them as mine leak & I just needed a replacement, I live on a farm. The item stated despatch within 1 to 2 working days & delivery within 4. After receiving no despatch notification after a couple of working days, I emailed stating that if they could not despatch today, cancel & refund. They replied the same day & agreed to a refund. My problem is simple, Don’t Lie in the first place. Now I have the weekend coming up & no working wellies. Tell the truth so people can buy from companies that actually hold inventory & despatch as promised. I certainly won’t deal with them again, sick of being treated with contempt.

Unfortunately I could not zero rate this company. Absolutely shocking service. My order was placed and paid for on the 7th October and a 1-2 day delivery advised, on the 13th October I chased for an update on my order, I received an apology email on the15th October advising the Oder would be chased up. Today the 18th October I have received an email to say the item isn’t available “due to an error in the suppliers stock feed”. I have little doubt my refund will take at least 7 days resulting in my money sitting in their account for 17 working days. Needless to say I will not be a returning customer.

I bought a matching Jacket and Trousers from Hollands Country Clothing. Not cheap, but you pay for quality. The trousers were too small, by a size, mainly because the EU sizing does not match UK sizing directly. I raised a request to exchange the trousers to the next size up which was difficult considering their web store did not work, but after some helpful assistance it was placed. Meanwhile I noticed the price of the trousers increased £30. When my return was received I was told their is no stock of the next size up and they issued a refund. On receiving that notice, I looked on the site for an alternate only to find the items reported as in stock on their website. I can only assume that the refund was issued in the hope I would pay the difference. Well I won't, and I won't be shopping there again.

I bought a pair of muck boots from hollands country clothing in November. They weren’t worn until January and have only been worn for three months out of this year for a couple of hours at a time, not all day every day. The boots have now split so are unwearable. I contacted Hollands and sent photos of the boots. They couldn’t have cared less. Just replied saying it was wear and tear and there was nothing they could do. Absolutely terrible customer service and for the price of these boots, you expect them to last for longer than three months. On top of that, surely they should still be in warranty! Hollands didn’t want to know so I now have a pair of boots that I can’t wear, and have only worn a handful of times over three months.

very bad customer service, placed a £350 order and haven’t received it a week later after paying for NEXT DAY delivery. Left numerous emails and voicemails to no reply what so ever

Currently waiting for a replacement of wellingtons which were faulty. Seems like there was an issue with the department receiving emails. The lady that got in touch with me after seeing my review was lovely and sent a replacement after i sent evidence! very happy. will update more once replacement is received.

I was looking for a wax cotton coat for dog walking in the great British weather, and I found the perfect candidate at a great price on Hollands website. So, I placed my order and sat back to wait for it to arrive. Next day, I got an email advising me I was getting a refund? No explanation, and on a small phone screen it LOOKED like the whole order was being refunded. I was VEXED! I quickly fired off an email to customer services, not rude, but more abrupt than my usual enquiries. Enter Melissa from Holland's customer services. She sorted out a misunderstanding and explained that the refund was just for the postage cost because there had been a delay from their suppliers. She gave me a revised delivery date and calmed me down again. The coat arrived today. A great fit, and a quality coat at a great price. I've already emailed Melissa and thanked her for her help.
