Jan 19,2023Great bunch of guys, very friendly. Really good experience with great amount of knowledge. My assigned instructor, Lewis was brilliant. Very down to earth, calm and easy going guy. Passed on my first test with only around 4 hours HGV driving experience. Highly recommend.

Jan 14,2023Passed my class C license on Friday the 13th of all days haha, having not a lot of confidence as a person who struggles with anxiety my trainer Steve Martin was bang on , he was persistent in the important procedures and correcting me when I missed something, while also praising me for the things I did right and got me ready and passed my test after 2 full days of driving. Like I mentioned I do struggle with anxiety and Steve did a great job of making me feel at ease which helped me a lot and I can't thank him enough for that , as well as being a good trainer you can generally tell he really cared and wanted me to pass as much as I did so thanks to Steve and j Coates I recommend 100percent.

Jan 13,2023Brilliant week driving with rob pearson. Gives you all the confidence you need to get through the week but also makes the week less nerve racking than it can get. Very enjoyable week and would fully recommend j Coates to drivers wanting to upgrade their license.

Jan 13,2023My instructor Lewis was Awsome very patient and informative his method of teaching is relaxed and would say it how it is u do good he would say get it wrong and he would explain what went wrong and how to correct it I would recommend him to anyone

Jan 11,2023I found both the instructors, Tristan and Colin, excellent. The tuition and practical work was great. The vehicles provided were in good condition. I struggled with some of the admin and accounts topics but that is partly the government system for booking tests. Some of the facilities used were in need of attention but decent loos (by my standards) were available.

Jan 08,2023A big thank you to Joe at Leicester who is a brilliant instructor and very knowledgeable, in my opinion going above and beyond just training you to pass your test. I passed my C+E from a B licence first time with his instruction, I couldn't recomend Joe and Jcoates more.

Jan 07,2023My instructor Roland Hulls is honestly a amazing instructor, within a mater of minutes he put me at complete ease and over the 2 days he helped go from a very nervous and somewhat tentative driver with the size of the lorry to a confident PASS with 0 driving faults. He gave great training and filtered in some funny and relative stories that clearly come from years of relatable experience driving through his past careers, on my second day we where joined by Mo who is a new instructor his expert knoledge of the Birmingham area in both a lorry and bus was clear, All around great experience and I will definitely be recommending J Coates to everyone I know pursuing any further driver training. I myself have already put my plans in motion to get my C+E and have specifically asked for Roland to take me on. Thank you Roland and J Coates.

Jan 06,2023My instructor Roland Hulls is definitely a credit to the company. I was given great training Roland easily noticed and pointed out my bad driving habits and showed me how to rectify them which ensured I passed first time at the Birmingham test centre which is notoriously hard to pass at. All round great experience and I will definitely be recommending J Coates to anyone I know who wishes to become a hgv driver.
