Spoke with a customer services adviser to query a couple of things relating to a fixed term savings account and was astounded at the lack of professionalism and incompetence.
I also had issues when applying for a fixed term account online but after calling them I was advised to use incognito mode on chrome and application went through without issue. I received the welcome email within minutes. I think there are technical issues but certainly no trust issues. Just search for them and see.

Hi was delighted to see a 5 year bond advertised on the martin lewis site.4.8 %?.I have 3 bonds with JN.i tried 3 times to apply for bond advertised.but showing not been successful. So I rung.that did not get me any where.y waste peoples time.y r u advertising a bond when I am stopped from opening one.false advertising that's how I see it.i had 4000to put in.
The application process for a savings account for new customer is an absolute pain.
Have tried to access my account and have phoned them. I have paid £100 extra to see if I have the right details as was told I would receive an email and got nothing back. So starting to think the bank is doggy. If I'd know about this I would never had got my solar panels done.
This is so disappointing. It’s been a catalogue of errors and even more weeks and weeks of delays. Initially the Jamaican online representative, that set up the account, didn’t bother to respond to emails and answer any queries I had. This wasn’t very promising, as I had to set up the account from the U.K.. This was just the start of the whole experience. I applied for my online account in June 2024, 7 months on this still has not been resolved. The latest twist is I am not getting email links to set up my new password. How difficult can this be! It doesn’t in-still much confidence for future banking with this bank
No one answers the phone in the toronto branch, i get conflicting information on what is needed to open and account...Shitty jamaican style service

had on going problems from the start cant use the app just wont load now i pay weekly by bank transfer never missed a payment but i received a email and text saying i was in arrears and they have added this to my credit report i rang last week to be told they only have my last 2 payments as received ive been on to my bank and have all the proof ive paid i was told id get a phone call but im still waiting

Very smooth and easy process to open an account. The information was easy to understand and the application process only took a few minutes.
I traveller to Jamaica on vacation and went to JNB in Broadway plaza (Norman Manley blvd) (Nigril) to make a very small moneexchange from US to JA dollars. I was told that it was standard policy for JNB to retain a copy of my identification (drivers license) for 10 years. I was fine with them taking my drivers license number but was very concern about the retention period policy for personal information. As well, the necessity of retaining my ID for 30.00 US to JA exchange

Jamaica national bank is one of the most disgusting banks . I send all my documents to an advisor for them to update my details.each time they continue to ask for something different.it seams like they are trying to frustrate me .I have phone JN and they keep telling me a different story this haven’t signed for .I keep sending my documents I don’t know what they are doing to my documents.is going on from April until now.
I applied for a loan and I got the decision on Bank Holiday Monday, very easy application process and signing paperwork super slick, the funds are now in my account and the service is really excellent and I would highly recommend JN Bank to anyone who is looking for a loan,
My niece got scammed by a Jamaican native named Timera Hamilton who said she has a business selling products, she requested that the money was sent via xoom, upon receiving my nieces money things started going down hill, my Niece requested that Ms Hamilton kept the product and refund the money back but instead of doing so Ms Hamilton blocked my niece and kept the money. My niece and I tried reaching out to the Jamaican police for help but they have not helped us, as Canadian tourists this has completely put us off from ever travelling to Jamaica or having any dealing to do with Jamaicans. Seeing as we got no help from the police we tried our luck to reach out to Jn bank my niece has been round and round in circles been told so many different things by different members of Jn bank. She then requested to speak with a manager which instead of a manger they transferred her to a supervisor at Jn bank Jamaica who goes by the name Monique who I must say really shocked me because I thought she would have helped but she didn’t she told my niece that her staff didn’t not open the complaint right so she has to do it all over again after doing so she requested that my niece sent her a recall letter with her signature on it, which was done as she requested on the day. Monique had stated once the email was sent that she will get in touch with my niece and also she’ll send over a form to be sign but noting of what Monique stated from your side was fulfilled, we waited to hear back from Monique but there was nothing. We had waited two weeks and a day then sent her another email on March 26th 2023 yet no reply back from Monique or anyone from JN bank as she mentioned prior. We had contact Jn bank since February before dealing with Monique, we are now in April and still no help. My niece then rang Monique, she had stated that she haven’t heard anything yet from the other team and that she did not receive my niece second email which is strange, she said she had tried to call my niece but couldn’t get her, my niece then said to Monique that it’s strange as no calls came in and she must have put in the wrong code(we are in Canada and they are Jamaican based), my niece then said to Monique if she try calling but still unable to reach her that Monique should EMAIL her instead, seeing as Monique already have my niece’s email. Over and over and over Monique failed to respond and failed to get back to my niece with updates of what’s happening, she had yet again waited, after such a long wait she called to speak with Monique and was told that she were in a meeting and that she will call me back which with no surprise she didn’t, when she did not called back my niece had tried again multiple times on different occasions and still nothing, April 6th 2024 my niece had tried to call Monique and was told by a JN member of staff that she was on a call, my nice then explained to the person the matter who placed her on hold and went back to Monique, upon the person’s return to the call he then relayed the message of which Monique wanted him to pass on to her rather than coming on the call her self , he stated that Monique informed him that she should ring the police and have the police get in touch with her in order for the money to be sent back and that she had tried to call my niece… my issue is this, my niece have had no calls from Monique, also Monique has my nieces email and could have emailed her as stated before, yet Monique had not done so nor had she cared enough to show decency to email so that my niece isn’t waiting in vain thinking something is being done when In fact nothing was nor has been done… why was my niece email taken in the first place if it’s not being put to use for communication… secondly in the beginning my niece had explained to Monique the whole situation concerning the Jamaican police lack of interest in helping which is why she instructed my niece in doing the recall letter and sending to herself so she can help my niece but instead she had taken us for fools while we waited with zero help and zero response from herself or staff at Jn bank. If my nice had not rang on so many occasions she would have never found out that we were waiting in vain for Monique to help, we feel lied to, taken for a ride,taken for fools,our time wasted and was given empty promises by Jn Bank and it’s members, they are not there to help but instead they are there to make a fool out of people by deceiving them and not helping, not communicating despite having my niece’s email. Monique had no real intentions of helping us and have wasted our time and energy in all this. Monique stated the money was frozen so the scammer won’t be able to access but with all the lies I don’t believe so and I’m sure they are not going to help my nice get her money back. Jn bank has been appalling, shameful, disappointing and extremely tedious and unprofessional.we shall reach out to the newspapers.
Set up fixed term savings accounts for my parents two years ago, JN Bank was offering the bast rate at the time. Was easy to set up and fund. With the maturity date approaching my parents received an email reminder to provide instructions and on maturity the funds were available in the nominated account on the morning of the maturity date. An overall good experience for savings.

JN Bank is easily the worst bank I have ever dealt with—slow, inefficient, and staffed with some of the rudest, most unhelpful people I’ve ever encountered. Long story short, I had an NHT refund that was supposed to be deposited into my account, but because my account was dormant, I was told it could not be processed. The agent assured me the money would not be sent back—but after nearly two months of back and forth, I found out that it was indeed returned. Reactivating my account was another nightmare. It took weeks of frustration, endless phone calls, and dealing with incompetent staff just to get my account working again. And don’t even get me started on internet banking—it took me nearly three weeks just to get access, and that was after dealing with a rude and completely unhelpful agent who failed me on DPA verification simply because I couldn’t recall a transaction I made 15 years ago. 15 YEARS! How on earth is anyone expected to remember that? Every interaction with JN Bank feels like pulling teeth. Everything is slow, the staff is rude, and getting anything done takes way longer than it should. If you want pure frustration, delays, and terrible customer service, this is the bank for you. Otherwise, avoid JN Bank at all costs—it’s a complete waste of time and energy.
