I bought a chrome Top Hat Ice Bucket as a fun present for my sister - wow what a table centre piece she adored it! - staff were so helpful in finding a special present and then wrapping it up for a long journey - above and beyond. If you want exceptional service and something of quality and different I cannot recommend this store enough
So helpful from start to finish. Even though we had to delay our carpet fitting twice, this was not a problem at all and the team at John Doe did their very best to sort it out. One the day, they were efficient and friendly, as always. Excellent local family firm 👍
I have not had to contact you for some time, but the service I hav had in the past purchases from you and after service, has been excellent
First class customer service We had quality issues with a corner unit sofa, John Doe collected and gave us a new temporary suite whilst the manufacturer was looking at the problems. The temporary suite was so good we purchased this instead of the original one, John Doe were so helpful and made a potential nightmare a pleasant transaction, we will not go anywhere else for furniture in the future, highly recommend this company.
I was on here writing a bad review for a company so I thought only fair I praised the good ones too! This company is exceptional, always had first class service and they go above and beyond to help you, never had a bad experience with what I've bought. They totally went above and beyond before Christmas for me, Charles was brilliant and I appreciate it so much. Every department is brilliant the whole experience start to finish is why you should support local shops, who care about customer service.
We have already purchased several items from John Doe - a dining table and chairs, desk and office chair - and have also had them out to lay the flooring in two rooms. We intend to have them carpet more rooms and provide a curtain-fitting service in the near future. The staff are very friendly and when there were small blips - an error in the quote on the flooring, a scuff on the corner of the dining table - they swiftly acted to fix it. Joh Doe has become our go-to store for good quality furniture and flooring. Recommended.
Great service, friendly staff, nice showroom.
I've been to John Doe to two occasions, for a new carpet and a bed. On both occasions i found them to be very helpful with selecting the items i needed. A reasonably priced remnant was perfect for my living room, and installation went seamlessly. After lying on many different beds, i found the perfect one, and it's still more comfortable than many of the beds I've slept in boutique pubs and hotels! I would recommend them to friends and family. Great product choice and customer service.
Our family have been using John Doe in Diss for 3 generations and always get great service and good prices. Above all the quality is outstanding, would highly recommend, Thanks, Alex.
My 80 year old mother was talked into buying a £2000 bed from this establishment, but when it came to be delivered there was no headboard that she had been expecting. When I queried this with the store, they informed me that the headboard was £3-500 extra! I refused delivery as the item had been mis-sold, but when I tried to get the money back I was given the. run around by rude store employees, who told me that the 'head of the bed department' would have to authorise it and he was "away". What a disgraceful way to treat an elderly person. Be warned! Addendum: In response to the lengthy repost from the MD of John Doe - please allow me to correct you. 1. On the subject of the headboard - NO - I repeat NO mention was made of it in the store to either my mother or my sister who were present. Both are very clear about this. I was informed that the 'from £89' headboard would not actually match the bed and that one to match the bed would cost between £300 and £500. My mother and sister are both adamant that the bed was discussed "as a package" and were both expecting the headboard that it was displayed with to arrive with it. You are correct that there was some reticence in spending £2000 on a bed, though whether this caused your salesman to not try and add on sell the headboard in case he lost the bed sale - who can say? I telephoned your store twice to discuss the matter, the first time I was told that your "head of beds' would call me back that day - needless to say, he didn't. I called again the following day and no call was received. £2000 down, no bed, nobody resolving the issue. How would you feel in my shoes? 2. Your comment about the headboard not being ordered as there were concerns about it "fitting into the Annexe" is of course quite ludicrous unless we were building it with a 5ft high ceiling height. Like me, you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. What a shame you didn't put 10% of the effort you have clearly made in sending me your reply and ringing round your mates to leave hasty positive reviews to balance my own into actually trying to resolve the problem in the first place. Try and look at this from your customers perspective- would this have happened had we shopped at John Lewis? I suspect not. And can I suggest insulting the character of someone you don't actually know who criticises your shop is not a very adult or effective way of dealing with the situation. Ask Elon Musk. We look forward to receiving your cheque, and spending it elsewhere.
