Quality experiences – large and small – set John Hall’s Alaska apart. In operation since 1982, nobody covers more of Alaska or provides a more enriched small-group experience. As a small family-owned and operated tour company with a passion for Alaska, personal attention, exclusive remote access, immersive cultural encounters, and included meals and activities are hallmarks of the John Hall’s Alaska experience.
These guided tours travel to all five regions of Alaska – the Artic, Inside Passage, Interior, Southcentral, and Southwest – and with group sizes ranging from only 24 to 40 guests, John Hall’s Alaska provides a more intimate “real” Alaska experience. Wildlife encounters, native cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access, outdoor activities, and the finest lodging in Alaska are highlights of every departure. Combined tour offerings feature six of Alaska’s eight national parks and optional trips to the other two can be added before or after any scheduled tour.
Depending on the itinerary, guests explore via a wide range of transportation modes such as luxury motorcoach, small aircraft, GoldStar first-class rail service, and small private charter vessels. To ensure the highest level of comfort, John Hall’s Alaska operates and maintains a custom-built fleet of spacious MCI motorcoaches that represent the best on the roads of Alaska. We loved our trip to Alaska. First class service all the way. Staff is amazing in all aspects. Would highly recommend you travel with them. You won't be disappointed.
We have taken 4 tours with John Hall, 2 in Alaksa and 2 alumni. All 4 have been amazing. The service is awesome, the itineraries allowed us to see so much more than other travel companies were doing. We highly recommend traveling with John Hall.
Your staff went over and above our expectations. When we come back to visit Alaska, John Hall Alaska Tours is who we will be using!
Enjoyed the national parks tour with small cruise extension. I saw places in Alaska I could never have easily arranged. The operation was as seemless as could be....we saw 6 national parks... from Katmai where we saw grizzlies eating salmon in brooks falls, to kennicott where we toured an 14 story high abandoned copper mine sitting on the edge of a glacier..to the Arctic....it was a trip of a lifetime. The food was ample and satisfying. The tour escort was confident and knowledgeable. The custom designed motor coaches were top notch,..roomy, clean, comfortable...we experienced float planes, bush planes and private jet and the motor coaches. I would highly recommend John Halls Alaska for any travel
First class operation. We have been on two tours with John Hall’s Alaska. All staff and associates are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Staff had prompt answers to all our questions and were wonderful in assisting with travel arrangements for connecting flights and accommodations.
Excellent trip back in late summer of 2011.
Couldn’t have dreamed up a better 3bears tour. Great weather, tremendous tour guide who did everything he could for us to have the trip of a lifetime, wonderful tour guides and experiences and good food.
Everything was top notch!!! Absolutely everything!! Nothing was left to the imagination. We thoroughly enjoy our Alaskan trip and hope to plan another trip to Ireland with John Hall.
I enjoyed every minute of my trip with John Hall's Alaska!
My husband and I have taken tours with other tour groups, but this is the tour we tell everyone about. Each activity and tour site was perfect and the experiences are something we will remember forever. This is the most customer-centric tour we have ever been on. Everything from the airport pick-up to the bus drivers, comfortable buses, tour sites and guides are all focused on how can John Hall can provide you with the best experience possible. One of our family members had to go to hospital because of flair-up from an on-going condition. We were driven to the hospital. A John Hall staff member checked in throughout the day. When we were cleared to continue with the tour a John Hall staff member picked us up at the hospital and drove us about 90 minutes to meet up with our tour. They insisted on stopping for dinner and picked up the bill. This is the kind of service and attention you can expect to receive from John Hall.
It was a memorable trip because of the excellent planning and special touches that John Hall provides. Even though it was almost eight years ago, I remember the visit to Denali, the pipeline, watermelon and cake for the Fourth of July, and many more experiences.
My wife and I went on the 3 bear trip. John and his staff set a really high bar for themselves and they exceeded it!. Everything was perfect and the staff quickly became like family. I caught a cold and the staff even went and picked up medicine for me. No charge for meds or travel to pick the meds up. Now that is service! Let's not forget the scenery and bears.
This was the most memorable tour we have ever had. Alaska is an amazing place made so much more so by the John Hall organizers.
This trip had to be the best trip of our life. We thoroughly enjoyed the fact that we did not have to think about what to do, where to eat, how much would it cost, all the things that can make a trip full of anxiety. There was no problems, it was smooth right from the start. I highly recommend the land portion as my favorite. The cruise portion was very nice and the extra attention to details was nice, but it was still just a cruise. By far the land portion was superior. Thank you so much John Hall for the best vacation ever.
In 2016, my wife and I went on the Grand Slam 15 day land/sea trip. It was AWESOME! It was a trip of a lifetime, and as it was my first and only trip to Alaska (so far) I'm glad we spent the money we did for this. Please believe me when I tell you that this experience was 1st class in every regard. From pickup at the airport in Anchorage at the start, to all the transportation on land, the hotel accommodations, the food, the sightseeing stops, the motor coach they use for the land portion, the cruise accommodations, etc. I still to this day think back on that adventure we took. It was totally an all-inclusive experience, and their attention to every little detail you can think of was just amazing. If your considering this particular 15 day trip they offer, you just have to treat yourself and do it! You won't regret it.
JHA delivers a First class tour. Everything they tell you will happen. And, occasionally, there’s an extra (bonus) that wasn’t in the plan. We have traveled twice with JHA, covering a good portion of Alaska. I highly recommend them to all I come in contact with.
Even though has been a long time since our first Alaska cruise tour, your company made it the best experience we could have ever expected. We took a 14 day (7 land 7 cruise ship) arrived one day early and you had us met at the airport and driven to our hotel. Not on our itinerary was the Alaska State Fair but we did stop there for an afternoon. We have recommended John Hall's Alaska Trips to anyone who says they want to visit Alaska someday and will continue to do so as it was a wonderful experience. Thanks for the memories,
We couldn’t have had a better experience- from start to finish! Top notch service throughout! ❤️
A group of six of us took a tour with John Hall's Alaska, a land and water excursion. The whole trip was nothing but amazing and the accommodations and attention to us all was top notch. The trip was so worth it as we would of never seen the sites that were booked if on our own. The people from John Hall's Alaska took care of us from beginning to the end and we worried about nothing. Thank You to The Whole Crew~

Mar 04,2021Very organized in every detail. The sites, the guides, meals, hotels and busses were top notch. A neighbor recommended John Halls tours after going to Alaska, we referred others and now there are others in our community with those beautiful blue and gold jackets. We all loved the trip and have never been taken care of as well as on that tour. They should have your logo next to "customer service" in the dictionary.
