i THINK THAT THE PEOPLE IN LENDINVEST, REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. A GREAT COMPANY
Excellent structure - easy to use. The loans go quickly but at the same time, never had any problems with getting money back. Absolutely would recommend to anyone.
I have several loans in default since Aug or Jul 2017. I always read on the platform that either redemption or refinancing is going to happen in a couple of weeks....these couple of weeks have become 6 months and counting....meanwhile I am stuck. The amount in default is more than 40% of my current portfolio.
Unfortunately, another P2P changing the goalposts, now want you to agree to signing and confirming you are a high net worth person etc, all this does is limit the lenders rights and gives Lendinvest a legal loophole to wash their hands when loans go sour, average returns look as though they are decreasing on a loan to loan basis.
I've invested with them for 18m or so, and generally very good. Their web platform is excellent - really easy to use, easy to invest, and the auto invest is a great feature. From what I can see their DD is professional and robust. I haven't had an investment default, but I have confidence they'll resolve it if it happens (I accept that this will push repayment later, but that's not an issue for me). 4 Stars because their rates (4-6%) are lower than I get with some other property crowd funding, and also a small frustration that loans billed as say 12 months, can suddenly redeem within a few months, due to a change in circumstance. I suspect Lendinvest pick up a bit of 'early redemption' fees in these situations, but the end-investor has to then find another loan. Also, recently you've had to be quick off the mark to get into some loans because they fill quickly - I guess that's a measure of their success. Of course remember, these investments have risk -they are not guaranteed. But overall, I'd definitely recommend.
Not perhaps the highest interest rates but you can set up this site so you can if effect just leave it running on autopilot. I am making about 5.7% at the moment and it looks as safe as any P2P site.
Simple principle, well executed. Obviously your investment is at risk, but so far all is well and I have no concerns.
A happy customer for over a year now, way better than banks interest rate.
I have been investing with them for over a year and always received payments on time and a professional courteous service when contacting them.
Unfortunately Lendinvest has changed its platform recently not allowing common people to invest anymore and only allowing high net worth individuals and professional investment professionals to invest. Just before the change was announced, investments were shown as filled before emails were sent out to platform users advising that they were available. This demonstrates that they may have been offered to preferencial platform users behind the scenes which seems to go against the very rules and terms of the platform. When I asked they said loans were being filled "very quickly, sometimes in less then 5 minutes" this does not seem honest or ethical. It is a shame that an innovative platform that had a higher purpose attached to it has now reduced itself to maintaining the status quo.
Lendinvest has since withdrawn their platform to general every day customers. Those being people that don't work in the financial industry or have six figure assets lying around. While a platform user, I was given no communication as to the progress of my loans, and often loans would be emailed out as available when in actual fact they have been filled. The return rates are lower than that of many platforms, and with no secondary market, it's a case of putting up and shutting up until the loan matures. Interest was paid monthly and always on time, but the process of having to go in and manually withdraw each time was tedious. Reinvestment was only available at £100 intervals, so prevents those with less than £20k on a decent return rate from investing their income straight away; leaving the only other option of withdrawing and putting it on another platform. In summary, while no money was lost, I perhaps would've been better off not using the platform, and focussing on my other platforms.
An easy way to earn a respectable 6-8% gross. Investments are generally for up to 12 months at a time and new ones are offered regularly. The higher paying ones (7%+) sell out very quickly. Sometimes an investment repays early, a couple have been extended but so far none have defaulted. My interest has been paid every month without any problems. I have invested in 35 loans in 11 months and 20 are still active. The original web interface worked perfectly but was "upgraded" a few months ago and is now prettier (ie: tablet/play school oriented) but less useful. The initial AML and KYC nonsense weren't too painful but they recently changed the requirements, claiming this would improve the platform. In reality, they just made it available to fewer investors.
Extremely professional company. Intuitive and very user friendly website backed up by efficient and readily available staff. I have been investing for 18 months now with absolutely NO problems. Testament in itself.
Not a lot to say, LendInvest take the initial risk, and then invite their members to share. There are companies who offer higher returns, but the risk is minimal with lendinvest. Not sure of exact figures but LI have grown from half a million to over £7.2m in 4 years. I feel safe with such a company. I have circa £60k with them.
I have serious concerns with the recent changes that Lendinvest are initiating. Regardless of the eligibility issues I would not give my specific tax details to anyone. Tax returns may indicate income levels but not value of investments and other disposables. I am comfortable with the present P to P property funding format and it is a pity that it is being discontinued. I assume Lendinvest will change its investment products and are asking people to sign up to the unknown whilst collecting useful targeting personal information.
Unable to invest. My money is no longer good enough for them. Lendinvest is only for the RIch. To add to this I can't even withdraw my money. I have had no issues withdrawing to my debit card in the past. Overnight they have stopped people investing and withdrawing money. What a way to treat your customers.
I have been investing with lendinvest for well over a year and have several thousands of pounds with them. I had intended to invest more but am no longer allowed to do so. Until yesterday I would have given them 4 or 5 stars but they have now effectively shut me out because only self-declared 'high worth' individuals or 'sophisticated investors' are allowed to invest. High worth means an income of £100K plus or having had £250K cash equivalent over the last twelve months. Sophisticated means part of an investment club or a purchaser of shares in unlisted companies. This is a very restricted definition of sophisticated. I have been managing my own share portfolios - ISA and SIPP - of over £200K for many years but I am not considered sophisticated because I am not a member of a club and choose not to buy unlisted shares. Furthermore, despite Lendinvest's claims to have informed all investors on 'Tuesday' no notification email was received, and I was unaware of these changes until i signed on intending to make another investment and was refused until I confirm my status. That is simply bad customer relations. Can an organisation be trusted when it treats its investors with such contempt and arrogance? Goodbye Lendinvest
Very good apart from increasing the minimum depositng into account upto £100
Good website offering control of rates and investments of up to one year. By spreading investments over time and opportunities, regular cash flow can be generated from interest and capital repayments if required.
