First, when we went to pick up our Camper at Christchurch, the very unprofessional and almost annoyed girl who worked there told us to wait an hour because the camper wasn't back from service yet. I understand that happens; it's no big deal. We then had a very brief demonstration of the camper's features and a lot of "you'll figure it out" from the same employee. (Blonde, young, slightly curly hair worked on the 21st of Feb 2023) Someone should have a serious conversation with her. We drove off hoping to enjoy what we had rented at this godforsaken company, only to find out during the trip that the Van had the following issues: - Broken interior (almost enough sharp edges sticking out to make it a hazard) - the dishes were greasy and dusty (I don't know how that happens) - the fridge smelled .... funky, if not rotten - the built-in USB Charger didn't work AT ALL - The outlets only worked if attached to outside power at a campsite, which, in combination with the USB chargers, made the onboard power supply obsolete - The Bed rails were broken, and they gave us the wrong cushion to fit between the rear seats, so we had a hole in our bed. one of two lamps didn't work - the port for the freshwater was 90% broken off, and by the end of the trip, completely unusable - the pressure valve of the freshwater tank didn't work, so water came spewing out the port while filling it up, so it took 40 min to fill VERY slowly - THEY DIDN'T EMPTY THE GRAYWATER TANK, disgusting - And by far, the most annoying thing that ALMOST COSTS us the trip is that they "serviced" the car but forgot to check the cooling liquid level. Which ALMOST led to a complete engine failure. We called three times and every time, we received one to three calls back, at the end, we received the same conclusion: either deal with it or wait a few days for a new camper or a week for an appointment at the mechanic's shop. I can't say that the car itself was bad; it worked fine, even if the starter and motor had their little hiccups and needed some special attention while driving. In Auckland, we were greeted by a very lovely lady asking us if we had any issues; we explained everything (see above) to her. She made sure her superiors received the complaint and apologized a hundred times. This woman handled everything as professionally as we would have expected Lucky Rentals to be. We made the most of the trip and had the time of our lives, but I deeply regret renting at Lucky Rentals. Lucky Rentals only receives one star because 0 stars is not possible and because of the lovely Auckland Lady. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Please

Mar 18,2024Très belle expérience en famille. Le van adapté à nous 5 et nous a conduits là où nous le souhaitions. Toutefois, le véhicule était vieux et du coup, il avait pas mal d'avarie (pas de plein phare, fuite d'eau par une fenêtre, joints ne tenant pas, vis ne tenant pas,....).

Mar 17,2024Lucky rentals don’t set out to offer the newest or flashiest campervans, but our Lucky Rover van was exactly what we needed - simple but comfortable, and it drove very well for the four days we hired it to travel from Christchurch down to Wanaka and back. It’s a budget outfit but the service was excellent and friendly.

Mar 14,2024We didn‘t expected for our 4 Week Trip from Auckland to Christchurch to get a 18 year old Vehicle with 500‘000 km on it. Well we kneew that we didn‘t pay for a luxury modell but this was unexpected. We made almost 5000 km and after 3 weeks the key broke in two pieces. Luckly we could still drive but our car was the last week unlocked. The people from lucky rental where friendly and the service good. But i do not understand that we got such an old car with so many kilometers. Next time i would book direct and get a confirmation with all the details about age and km from the camper.

Mar 13,2024Sadly the van was not really the vehicle for us. It was tired internally and the top bunk smelled, so we used the bottom seating for sleeping, which didn't have enough support. We took the van back 2 days early and received refund for those days and two days rental fees compensation. The staff made a decent attempt to remedy the situation to be fair.

Mar 13,2024I had such an amazing experience with Lucky Rentals! Their staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. And the car they provided was absolutely awesome. It had everything I needed for my trip, even cutlery! And I had the most comfortable sleep.I would totally recommend them to anyone and I can't wait to rent their van again. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Mar 12,2024Staff was extremely friendly. But the van had several things wrong with it and when I tried calling the company, they brushed off my concerns. Our van had serious mechanical issues. Next time I would rent from a company that has newer more reliable vans

Mar 12,2024Wir waren sehr spät dran mit dem buchen (Dez. 2023) für einen Camper im Februar. Natürlich war die Auswahl dementsprechend schwierig. Ich habe relativ lange Angebote verglichen und mich für Lucky Rentals entschieden ( Hightop und Self Contained). Das was wir bekommen haben entsprach den Bildern. Die Ausstattung war einfach, jedoch vermissten wir nichts. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte aus meiner Sicht nicht ganz ( 28 Tage für ca. 6200 NZ Dollar ) war teuer. In Neuseeland war aus meiner Sicht einiges sehr teuer und bei einigen Touren stimmte das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht ( Waitomo caves, Pinguine Tour). Der Camper war schon alt und ein wenig schmutzig, jedoch bekamen wir, was wir bezahlt haben. Die Abholung war super und die Rückgabe auch. Wir hatten keine Probleme und alles funktionierte wie es sollte. Fähre und super schnellen Antworten per Mail, Danke. Wir wussten, dass der Camper günstig war und wir deswegen Abstriche machen mussten.

Mar 09,2024We had the lucky rodeo and it was good at a very good price. Don’t expect all the top quality stuff but for the price it was perfect. Pick up was straightforward and drop off easy with a transfer to the airport included. Good fuel efficiency and the vehicles are inconspicuous so you don’t have any trouble parking and keeping things secure.

Mar 08,2024All of the staff from the start of my booking, months before my trip, all of the way through the end of my trip were helpful, professional, and kind. We rented the lucky rover and it was very spacious for two of us- it could sleep up to four people. The campervan itself was one of the most affordable we could find and we loved our time with it! Highly recommend!

Mar 08,2024The rental agreement through the third party agent was not honored and I was charged more than expected. The shuttle service hours are not sufficient to support international flight times. The van had many mechanical issues, no manual was left in the vehicle to reference.

Mar 07,2024Expérience très mitigée. Nous avons choisi cette compagnie car attractive au niveau des prix en comparaison au reste du marché. En revanche, il n’y a pas de mystère. Le van avait déjà + de 410.000 kilomètres au compteur. Donc forcément, une consommation excessive d’essence, le voyant moteur est qui s’allume et s’éteint. Les réveils pouvaient être très humide car niveau isolation, c’est zéro. Enfin bon, nous avons réussi à passer ce mois en restituant le van sans problème majeur. Je ne recommande pas pour autant. Des fois il vaut mieux mettre un peu plus chère, mais pour plus de qualité et moins de consommation en terme d’essence.

Le van avait beaucoup de kilomètres, il consommait beaucoup, les équipements étaient vieillots: suspensions, essuies glaces, sommier supérieur grinçant, propreté et état du linge douteux, prise qui ne fonctionnait pas. Le van a néanmoins tenu jusque la fin de notre périple, le prix était cher pour la prestation.
