I was able to speak to my counselor within a few weeks of completing paperwork. They made me feel very comfortable with the process. Any questions I had they answered them for me. For the first time I am not feeling stress of buying a house. I am very excited to move to my next step to my process for buying my home. Kelly

have been going through the NACA program for a few months now, the process has been long and laborious. Process seemed like it was a bit tedious, now that i am closer to the finish line i better understand the homebuying process. I definitely appreciate all the hard work our counselor Zachary Powell has put in to help us reach this finish line and getting us that much closer to becoming first time homeowners.

The Naca program has been very helpful and efficient while helping us get out first home together. The representative Zachery Powell has been amazing, and on top of our case. He has been thorough through this entire process. We are very thankful to have found this program to help us become homeowners!

Naca has made me think differently about how I handle my finances. I desire to purchase a home and even though I'm in the early stages. I am learning a lot and it is well worth it.

My name is Braulio and I am very grateful to NACA for helping me a lot in the process of buying my house. They have made the process easier, even clarifying my doubts. Thanks to my advisor Antonio Coronado for being an essential collaborator in this process!!

Hi there, To avoid mentioning my name, I put my NACA ID which is 2551304. I have been a member of NACA for almost 2 years. In the first year, although my saving pattern was good since I made 6 figures, I was told to buy by the market interest rate instead of NACA’s interest rate, so I was discouraged by that. Again, this year after being contacted by one of the counselors why I didn’t continue with NACA, I mentioned what I described above and she said since I live in DMV area, she could convince NACA that my salary is what middle income earners get so that I get the NACA’s interest benefit. Then I agreed in that option and started saving again and I showed my saving of 3 months. And now another problem popped up which is since the current house price and interest is huge, amount of money that is offered me was not enough to buy a single-family house so what I tried next was to buy the interest rate. And for example, to buy a single-family house in DMV that costs around 600k, you have to pay NACA 36k to decrease the interest by 1% and if you want to decrease the interest by 2% you need to pay them more than 72k. Funny ya? That’s the reality. I even used my last chance which is one month after I started saving to show my saving pattern, I got another after hour job so my income increased which means the amount of money that I should be allowed to spend monthly as a mortgage should increase so I told my counselor to check my saving for 3 months of my new income too but she said the new income hast to be checked for the coming 1 year. So, my conclusion is, regardless of what you make yearly they will come up with every little reason to deny you an offer. I wasted my precious time which is two years, and I don’t want you to waste yours so stay away from the. To save time of most individuals this review will be posted in every related website where first home buyers could see it. As a rate, I gave 1 star to be fair otherwise NACA doesn't deserve anything. Thanks,

I started the NACA process back in 2020, but quit because I was scared to actually do the process. Well I'm back 4 years later on ready, set and go mode. I had my initial intake with my counselor and she was very nice, professional and detail as to what I need to be successful. I look forward to actually completing the and become a first time and forever homebuyer.

Still in the early stages of my NACA homeownership process but so far it's been good! My counselor Sharon, was very helpful during my first counselor meeting and provided me with some action items to take away. My advice would be to try to stay on top of your uploads, documentation, and overall information. I appreciate the work this program does and the people who are dedicated to help first time homeowners such as myself.

As a single working mother, there is no way I would be able to afford a home without NACA’s assistance. They truly care about making home buying accessible to working class people and educating them at every step. I’m in the middle of the process now and so far, it’s been smooth sailing. My counselor is responsive and is always willing to answer my never ending list of questions. It is a lot of work preparing all your paperwork and getting your finances in order, but if you are serious about purchasing a home, you can make it happen. I highly recommend this program to those who are economically at a disadvantage in this housing market. No down payment and the best interest rate on the market can’t be beat!

If I could give negative zero stars I would. Naca has been the WORST home buying experience of my life. I would NEVER promote or referral this company to anyone not even my enemy. Also Bank of America too. You can never get anyone to call you backs about your account. Counselors steady leaving and understand that, and workload is placed on someone. I got to the finished line. Right when my renting lease was ending 5/31/24. I was suppose to close 5/28/24, come to find out the appraiser procrastinated and when to appraise the property on 5/28/24. Submit the report or shall I say we had to beg for the report on 6/5/24 although it shows it was completed on 6/3/24. Then given closing date 6/7/24. Then NACA ask for Verification of employment from my PRN Job and it was sent 6/6/24 email to everyone. So then closing date changed to 6/14/24. Let just say my kids and I was homeless. Had to put what we did have into Public Storage. I already ordered our new furniture and appliances, and switched the delivery dates so much the warehouse charging me fees to store items there. So come 6/13/24 I get a notification of where I needed to go or time. I had to do all the calling and emailing leaving multiple voicemails to varies of people to see what was going on. Find out the employment of verification the lender “claimed “ they didn’t receive so I personally sent it AGAIN including everyone on it, because I sent right after my employer sent it because “just in case” this would happened and it did. Therefore it was shows the it was originally sent on the 6/6/24, everyone saw it but the lender 🙄. Now here I am today 6/17/24 still no house. My kids and I rode around all weekend in and out of stores just to beat the heat because we’re HOMELESS. If I would’ve known I wasn’t g closing on the 5/28, 6/7, 6/14 I could’ve renewed my lease and broke it after closing. You would think NACA or Bank Of American cared of the hell they’ve put me and my children through since it state as their motto “Home of Americas Best Mortgage” obviously not. I did rent an Airbnb for the first weeks but those are expensive like hotels in which ran me more then the rent I was paying $1380/mo, and yet I still haven’t closed. I’m missing work due to the fact I have nowhere for my children to go while I work, or no where to laid our heads since we checked out the Airbnb on 6/14/24 @ 10am. Bank manager said it’s going to take another week for them to reprocess my account with the under writers due to the fact they factor in an “As need” job into my income causing me to be NOT qualified for principle mortgage reduction. My first home I purchased through USDA didn’t required this much paperwork and they let you know everything up front of what you would need. Process took about six month from start to finish I mean application to building your new home. I was told by a coworker to try this NACA program out they’re great 😂. With NACA it’s taking me almost 3 years and I’m still waiting. I stressed so much until I have blood pressure and continuous migraines. I’ve tried to be strong and hold it together for my children and not let them see me break down and failing them as a mother I’m not being able to provider a place for them to stay. How can you not let them. M children sense my hurt, and I continuously apologize from being a failure to them. All I want to do to is start over with a one level home due to the fact I injuried my ankle and could not do the stairs anymore. You would think someone will speed the process up due to special circumstances but I guess not because they sleep comfortably at night in theirs bed at home. I hope this reach Bruce Marks. Sorry to say. I wish I never dealt with this program. My 6 thousand earnest money I put down on is the verge of being lost because Mungo trying to terminate the building agreement bevy of NACa/Bank of America. I went the process of building this house to my family liking. Who can refund my money since it wasn’t my fault? I need help, guidance, and answers. Horrible!!! 😤🤬 I just want my earnest money back. That should be refunded by NACA

Join the movement! We're almost there; remember, the turtle wins the race. Trust the process and be patient. Everyone's journey is different and may come with obstacles, but you must invest what you want out of it, whether it's work, time, or effort. Don't rush the progress because what God has for you, no one can stop. NACA is a remarkable HUD-certified, non-profit counseling organization fighting for economic justice through its homeownership programs. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful counselor I work with, and continue to work with, to achieve one of my main goals: owning a home for myself and my two children, fulfilling the American dream.

The NACA program is very informative and thorough. After attending the initial workshop, I was paired with a counselor who has done a great job explaining the process and providing followup for the next steps.

I’m at the starting point of buying my first home, and looking forward to the new beginning w/NACA. The goal is to educate, influence, and inspire others on Section 8 to take a leap of faith for a better quality of life for themselves, children and the world sake.

Patience, Commitment and Hard Work, I put it in. I’m hurt that I was not able to work with NACA, because of miss understanding of household member. Not asking me how we can fix this situation or here is what we can do. Instead of NACA working and seeing me to finish line, I was left to fight for myself not once but twice. No phone call or return emails. But I didn’t allow that to stop me of owning home. I know that owning home was my number one priority in my life for 2024. I turn this bad experience into good experience saving $16,500, was able to bring my credit score up. The Lending team (Lendlo Mortgage), the builder (Rausch Coleman Homes), worked with me to finish line. It may not have been NACA interest rate, but it worked in my favor. I’m closing my case because I closed on my New Construction Home 5/29/24. When NACA said No and turn their back on me, My God said YES, and it happen.
