The items themselves were of great quality and well made, unfortunately one of the pieces was damaged but the customer service was second to none and the new piece was with me within 48 hours, best service I have received for some time!

I am so pleased with the 10" magnetic set - it's beautifully made and there is perfect storage for all the pieces as the board folds. Can't wait to give this to my 7 year old grandson who is new to the game of chess.

May 04,2024Just giving this Official Staunton Set 5 Stars would be an injustice to this amazing exact 1850 Jaques replica. I've been collecting Staunton chess sets for over 50 years and this is the most accurate replica of any Jaques set I have ever seen or owned. The awesome exquisite hand-carved knights are a sight to behold. If you placed this set next to an original 1850 Jaques set, it would be hard to tell which one is the original. An heirloom museum quality set. And the extras that come with this set: Lozenges attached to the green felt bases, the period-looking antiqued green labeled wooden box, and the Certificate of Authenticity and its related documents. WOW! I hope that every serious chess set collector takes advantage of this magnificent offering. Many thanks to Carl Miceli for offering this dream set available to collectors.

Apr 22,2024The site looks absolutely wonderful and is very easily navigated. However the shipping costs are outrageous for the time it takes to ship, plus I had to pay taxes which before buying wasn’t mentioned anywhere. The pieces themselves are adequate, the vilt pads on the bottom are a very cheap looking light green and not finished too nicely, and the wood has quite a few imperfections. The details in the pieces are sometimes wonky and don’t look like they have been made with a lot of care. If I had the opportunity to return my purchase and get back my money as well as shipping and taxes I would do so in a heartbeat sadly… The pieces are fine, the website is fine, and everything is fine. However, for a company calling themselves official Staunton the quality and love for chess pieces is severely lacking and disappointing.
