4" Leningrad Staunton Boxwood & Black Chess Pieces & 18" Contemporary Anegre Chess Board I am so pleased with my purchase. Definitely went above my expectations for online retail. Delivery was 48hrs with packaging arriving with minimal marks or damage. Items arrived exactly as expected with the pieces being individually wrapped in bubble wrap fo additional protection. I also received an a storage box with my order, I am not sure if there was a chess set that came with a box that I may have missed, which they added to my order, as the pieces and board were not purchased as a set, but it was a gesture of goodwill that was greatly received. 10/10, I will purchase from here again

The chess set arrived quicker than expected, three days after I placed the order. But the chess set, wow. The most beautiful pieces, perfectly weighted and a lovely matching chess board. The detail on the knight is stunning. The set comes with two spare queens and a lovely mahogany box to store the pieces.

I had a minor problem and sent an email to get it rectified. It was sorted out so very, very well and I thank them for this. I would recommend the chess set with the drawers as it is a lovely gift to present to someone.

The chess set I ordered was out of stock and the Official Staunton team were exceptionally generous of offering me a replacement set that was of a significantly higher value at no extra charge. They were responsive to all my questions, however annoying. The set they supplied will outlast me and is of a quality that I'm sure will bring delight long after I've knocked my King over!

I ordered a chess set from this company and everything arrived very quickly and in great packaging. The board is brilliant and so are all the pieces. The price tag definitely matched the quality of the product. All the chessmen were beautifully detailed and nicely weighted, It feels fantastic to play on and I can say that I am very pleased with my purchase...no regrets. I did after some time notice some defects on my chess board (only very small dents/scratches) and although they weren't anything major they did get on my nerves especially when looking at the board for long periods. I reached out to Staunton by email, half expecting to get nothing back, but to my surprise a brand new board was delivered to my address the very NEXT DAY without any fuss. I was absolutely blown away by this service and thoroughly impressed with the standard set out by this company. I cannot recommend Staunton and their products enough- the quality and craftsmanship of the boards/pieces speak for themselves but the professionalism of their team is something I can personally vouch for. There is not a doubt in my mind that I will be returning to Staunton for any of my chess needs.

My order arrived damaged - the corner of the chess board was chipped. I contacted the shop and the reply was - it was fine when we packed it, so it must have damaged during transportation, therefore, it’s not our fault and if you want to return the order, you have to pay for the shipping. … I have never seen such a bad customer service in the UK… and yes, if you read all the small print on the returns policy on their website, it does say that they are not liable for damage done during delivery.

Nice chess pieces and well packed,good delivery . I emailed Carl and he was very helpful. Maybe information on the web page about the size of the chess pieces( like height and base diameter on each piece) which I think is important. Good all around. Thank you.
