We understand that the first step towards taking a solo holiday may feel like a giant leap, so we're here to ensure you have the perfect journey from start to finish. We’ll look after all those small details that really matter, allowing you to relax and enjoy the perfect holiday as a solo traveller.
As you would expect, our holidays are ABTA/ATOL protected, meaning peace of mind in even the most turbulent times. We also feature a rewards program for our most loyal guests, helping them save money on their travels and acknowledging our gratitude to them for helping us to where we are today.
The hotel was comfortable and clean, my bed was super comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The vegetarian food I asked for was always stodgy pastry around a too small and usually flavourless filling. To make the plate less interesting still, portions of sauce were nice but tiny. I asked once for more Stilton sauce as less than a tablespoon had been served but was given a tiny jug of very cold pouring cream. The food was always just warm never hot. Christmas Day lunch and evening buffet was the best food, the rest failed miserably to reach standard. We had a great walking tour of Medieval Norwich on Christmas Eve. For a Vegetarian lunch at the Briton Arms most people had a variety of meat and fish sandwiches. I was offered 2 rounds of all cheese and pickle which I rarely eat, the smell of it wasn’t pleasant. There was nothing offered as an alternative to the large sausage roll given to meat eaters. On Boxing Day we had a great coach ride to Cromer, enjoyed an excellent buffet lunch then watched their happy pier Christmas show. But our scheduled morning activity to a museum was cancelled as it was closed that day. Did no one check? Fortunately it was a fine day for a walk along the seafront instead. We had a very friendly tour guide and a lovely pen from you plus a generous gift of a bottle of Baileys from the hotel. Thank you. Sadly there seemed an awful lot of waste of uninteresting food throughout and uninteresting gimmicky bits on Christmas Day. The beautiful grounds, comfort of the hotel plus lovely staff and some successful outings were the saving graces of the experience.
This holiday was a bit too busy - scarcely any time to take a breath.
As this was my sixth adventure with One Traveller I think you'll realise they are the best for mature solo travellers. Never having been to Slovenia it was a great experience in a beautiful country. Silvia, our tour manager, was excellent in every way and went far and away beyond her duty in not only her knowledge about the country and places we visited but also looking after everyone. Our local guide and coach driver Peter were also great. We were like one big family.
Beauty of Switzerland. Wonderful weather. Great hotel, with friendly staff, and I was lucky enough to have a good bedroom.
Egypt has always been on my bucket list and I am so glad I chose One Traveller to do it with. The organization of the itinery was great with two brilliant tour guides, and Egyptologists. Would recomend this trip to anyone who is pretty fit.
I got an all round experience of Prague, ranging from tours to social experiences. Very well organised, i had lovely travelling companions and tour guides. A great way to spend Christmas and learn about the history of Prague, and have a lot of fun.
Excellent tour manager. Well organised trips. Family run hotel very accommodating to the groups arrangements. Food OK but disappointing.
Very enjoyable Christmas in Malta. Well looked after and lots of interesting visits.
Everything was perfect! The itinerary was so well planned, the guides and tour managers were true professionals and the accommodation excellent.
A well organised company that looks after mature single people from your initial inquiry to the end of your trip.
Travelled to Lake Bled in Slovenia for Christmas. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The tour manager went the extra mile to ensure we all enjoyed the holiday to the fullest. The excursions were all very enjoyable as were the meals in local restaurants. The only reason I have marked the holiday down is because the flights were not direct. Outward involved changing at Munich and return at Frankfurt. I felt this added unnecessary time to what is basically a short journey.
Being with people in similar circumstances to mine, being well looked after, being able to talk with difference people. All this was topped by a magical visit to Blenheim Palace.
I was in Morocco for the Christmas and New Year and my luggage was in Heathrow airport the whole time. I had nothing more than the clothes that I stood in and I felt that the staff in the UK could have got themselves off their b***sides and done something about it instead of planning their Christmas party. They did not even answer emails.
One Traveller provides a fantastic holiday structure for solo travellers. Hotels, rooms and itineraries are generally well thought out n special diets are well catered for.
The holiday was very well organised . There were no hitches, our guide Richard was a pleasure! The local guide Ravy was so clued up on everything we learnt a lot about Sri Lanka. The hotels were very impressive. The driver of our coach was the best, he never made a wrong move in the two weeks, also his bus boy was good. The people of Sri Lanka are lovely!
The quality of accommodation and the care shown by the tour managers.
Much didn't go according to plan
Flights and hotels were all booked very effectively. Lots of relevant sightseeing trips. Good group of 10; we all got on with each other and bonded very well. A bigger group wouldn't have enjoyed the same balance and bonding, and would've soaked up our guide's time and attention shepherding us. Our Czech guide hit just the right note and was great fun with no language problems at all. Our English guide met us at Gatwick- late due to flight delays from Czechia; Jayne stood in really well, but could this have been avoided? - and knew the history and the sights. However, he sometimes seemed unsure what to do next, and it would've been nicer to set off a bit later for morning trips! Several in the group thought he came over as 'trying too hard' to keep things lively, when we were all enjoying each other's company well enough. A bit more free shopping/browsing time would've been good.
I can not praise Onetraveller enough. Truly amazing company from start to finish. From the second I booked Karon was so helpful. Richard our tour guide called me a few days before the trip to check if I needed anything and to answer any queries I may have had. He then met us at Heathrow ensuring all was in order. I can’t thank him enough for taking care of us so well the entire trip. It honestly was door to door service, staying until the bitter end to ensure we all had our luggage at Heathrow upon our return. Richard, thank you, you were amazing, as was Lal our driver and Butica his assistant and Ravi our Sri Lanka guide. The four of them made sure everything went according to plan each and every day. So if you’re looking for a trip that takes care of absolutely everything, then this is the company to select. The only downside for me personally is that I didn’t have enough time to relax. I also found changing hotels every 2 nights hard and found for me personally that I preferred a 3 night stay, however we got to see a whole lot of Sri Lanka. So if you’re looking for action packed days then this is certainly the holiday for you. Their evening dinner numbering system works really well ensuring you get to meet and chat to everyone in the group.

Jan 12,20241. Glen was an excellent tour guide, friendly and conscientious -and he gave us photos. 2. The hotel Aqualux worked well in all departments, food was good and they remembered my 'gluten free' requirement well. 3. The places visited were very interesting. Overall the holiday worked very well.
