Nov 29,2024Pretty sure this company is a scam, sent a plumber out who wasn't able to turn off the stop tap charged me the call out fee of 144£ anyway, quoted 295£ plus VAT to replace the stop tap. I then called a different plumber who just wiggled the tap back and forth using a spanner and got the tap unstuck. Just an aweful experience with PM247

Nov 27,2024I mean it was 500 quid to fit a part that costs 50p… took the guy 15 mins.. easy money. But it’s a same day service which local plumbers cannot provide. I think it’s still too expensive. Update -looks like this company pays for reviews on trust pilot as they are getting 5 star reviews submitted at 4AM on newly created accounts - I only called them because at first glance they have a good score so this is very concerning.

Nov 25,2024Scam company. Plumber came out, did no investigation beyond taking a picture of the water in the sink, quoted a ridiculous price to fix the issue that he hadn't investigated, then when I rejected the quote, demanded payment of £144 for the investigation that he didn't do.

Nov 25,2024I so wish I’d seen these reviews before contacting them to perform a job for me!!! What a rip off company they are, I will never use again and will strongly recommend others don’t. My reason: Call out charge, £120 plus VAT which would be taken off my final invoice, fine. Engineer came and said need to replace 18 inches of plastic pipe. Company then informs me that will be an extra £155 plus Vat, total invoice: £295 plus vat for approximately 18 inches of plastic pipe. Told them I do not now want them to continue with the work. Was sent an invoice for the call-out charge, fine, but was then told I had to pay by cash or bank transfer, when I said I wanted to pay by card was informed that I couldn’t do that. I then pointed out on the original job sheet I could pay by card and was told they would have to get special permission for to pay by one of their stated ways of paying. As I say I so wish I’d seen these other reviews before contacting and can not say strongly enough I will never use this company again!!

Nov 22,2024We received excellent service from PM247. A plumber was with us within 2 hours and completed emergency work immediately. We needed additional work completing which required parts ordering and were kept informed and updated on the cost and progress, the same plumber returned 2 days later - Saturday - to replace a faulty thermostat. He was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Nov 22,2024A total scam. Tried to bully my elderly parents into paying £144 call out charge and then a further £500 to unblock the kitchen sink. The plumber did not even disconnect the U-bend under the sink to have a look and left without resolving the problem. One bottle of Mr Muscle did the trick !! Hounded my parents constantly for payment and I had to threaten to call the police unless the harassment stopped. TOTAL SCAM

Nov 16,2024Had an airlock, obstruction or blockage in downstairs toilet. It was slow to empty. I Googled the problem and PM247 came up. A good website. I called at 9am and spoke to a helpful lady who told me the call out fee was £144 and that a plumber would be with me between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Plumber turned up at 1230pm as promised and just flushed the toilet and told me it was blocked. (I knew that. That is why I called them) He said there was nothing he could do as the outside drain itself was blocked. He then called the office and they then called me. I was told I needed a drainage expert and he would be with me at 4.30pm. He turned up on time and said "Why do I get all the effing difficult jobs?!" He said he going to have to take the toilet out, 'smash the tiles off the wall to get at the cistern' and that I was looking at a lot of money. He never tried to unblock the toilet at all. Just flushed it once and it was slow to clear. He said "I am trying to save you money" He then asked to look at the outside drain. It was dark. He never had a torch, just his iphone. I got a torch and we lifted the cover and flushed both toilets and it ran fine. No blockage there. He then said he needed to insert 'the camera.' He then phoned the office who then phoned me. I was told it was £450 plus VAT to have the camera inserted. I told them no way. He then said, "How much do you want to pay?" (I had already decided this was scam) The Plumber then came back and asked what I wanted to do. I said I was not paying that rip off price of £450 plus VAT. He then said he would do it for £290 cash. I declined. He then said '£250 cash?' I declined. He also said it also would need 'power washing' at £380 plus VAT. This was getting stupid. I declined. I still had to pay the bill of a £144 call out fee which I had to do by bank transfer as I did not have 'The App' He would not leave until it was paid. I did get a proper receipt. Beware of this company. They frighten you with talk of smashing tiles off and removing the toilet. Not once did anyone attempt to use a plunger or rods or give me any useful advice.. A total day and money wasted..

For freeing a blocked sink and washing machine wasteline, their office informed my tenant that owing to the complexity of the problem a Fixed Price of £330 (inc VAT) was entirely justifiable. The £330 was on top of their £144 (inc VAT) call out charge and, contrary to what they say in their Website, about the way they work, had to be prepaid. Total Invoice £474 (inc VAT) The actual work, to clear the blockage, took the plumber 20 minutes to complete!! Andrew Booth

Nov 15,2024I'd avoid them, based on my experience with fixing hot water issue. I came across this company by accident. They use Putney Plumbers as a key search word on Google, so I landed on their page, instead of the actual company called Putney Plumbers. I had no hot water (presumably because of the faulty motorised valve). The engineer showed up, switched on the boiler, and magically everything worked. I explained that previously the system failed, and this needs investigation. The engineer assured me that could not have been the case and left without inspecting the system. The next day hot water issue returned. Turns out the system fails to fire up the boiler 9 out of 10 times. I called the company and pointed out that the issue was not investigated properly, and that I was charged by them for nothing. The company refused to acknowledge that the job was done properly.

Nov 07,2024Check the 5 star reviews - all worded the same and names are similar and come up again. Do not use this company!!! Called out for a blocked drain. Price was £144 to unblock without using ‘machinery’. Engineer arrived in time. Had a look and then quoted £595 to unblock as needed to use jet wash and camera etc. I asked if they could use rods and was told this wouldn’t work so declined the job. Then got a follow up call and told them I wasn’t going to pay as he hadn’t even tried to use the rods and had refused to do so. They sent back the engineer who used the rod and cleared the drain!!! He was so aggressive clearing the drain, he splashed the tissue and ablutions all over the patio area and didn’t clean up after him. While all this was going on, a man was constantly phoning wanting payment. A con! Don’t use

Nov 05,2024Even one star is too much. £120 plus VAT to come and look in a clogged toilet then they want another £320 to use a machine THAT IS IN THE VAN van to clear it? For £120 plus VAT I expect at least an effort to clear any material that is causing the toilet to clog. The bloke was instructed by "the office"not to leave until I paid him the £120 plus VAT for just pushing his plunger down the toilet. Do not use this company, they are programmed to deceive. I will be looking for an honourable company if it clogs again.

Nov 05,2024Avoid- I actually don’t know how I got these guys as my search had been for Dino-Rod who I had used previously. Having agreed to the call out charge to unblock a toilet I was then told I needed all my outside drains jet washed at en extra cost of £385 plus VAT- I declined as the engineer had easily sorted the current problem with a plunger- even I could see the drains were running completely clearly so I was a bit put out to be honest! Once declined, the engineer then proceeded to go back to check on the now cleared toilet and announced the obstruction was still definately still there and he would need to use further equipment to prevent a blockage that was certain to happen in the future if he didn’t. I agreed to the office giving a price but by now felt pretty sussed! They called with a £285 quote- I declined and the engineer was already long gone! Didn’t even shut the door behind him! Never again- they’re crooks!

Nov 04,2024AVOID Once call out charge made aware - £144 and they were on the premises, they asked for an extortionate amount extra, to rectify a straightforward simple problem that would have taken no longer than 30 mins. [ Had previously had this same work done by our usual plumber, on another identical apparatus, 6 weeks previous, but he was overseas ] They quoted a total of £445 [ extra £301 plus call out fee ]. After our objection, they were able to knock £70 off, so now cost was £375. Then the 'plumber ' said he could do the job for £200 cash in hand !! plus Co. call out fee = £344. The price obviously does not bear any relation to the actual time and materials used. Disgusting practice. We declined and they hounded us every 5 mins. on the phone, for the call out charge payment and said the plumber would stay on the premises until the charge was paid. They were told that was their problem ! We can see from the other appalling reviews from relatives of elderly, frail people that they are an extremely vulnerable group. Total Rip Off- Avoid at all costs

Nov 03,2024Complete waste of time. We called them out to find a leak. They arrived, declared there was a leak, don’t know where - aren’t prepared to look , charged us extortionate call out fee and left. They were also over 24 hours late.

Nov 30,2024My experience has been very distressing as they would not do any work before I had signed their Contract and paid upfront?? As I had no heating, I was desperate as am disabled, elderly and not in good health - so risked the paying in advance. They refused to take a credit card, which they had initially stated was acceptable when confirming the job. I paid them 294 pounds for a job that the engineer was unable to carry out in the 3 hours at my home while he was killing time, going to and fro to his car, making phone calls galore - and pretending to do some work, which he said he would have to come round the next day to finish??? I told him to LEAVE and leave he did by banging my front door so loudly that the neighbours came out to enquire if I was all right. I SO REGRET NOT VIEWING THE REVIEWS PRIOR TO ENGAGING THIS ROTTEN COMPANY. These people are liars and cheats - and have no intention of doing any work (employing staff that are totally unqualified).- so please do not have anything to do with these SCAMMERS! Not only will you lose money, but the entire experience was extremely stressful.
