Nov 01,2024Called to request engineer to attend a partially blocked toilet. Engineer arrived within timeframe of 90 minutes. Pricing was for an investigation quote prior to work carried out. Engineer was very knowledgeable. There was a lot of phone calls from office to engineer and to me causing time delays. They request payment via an online app… first time I’ve had to use this and does not allow credit card payment. Would be difficult to use if not an app user. Paid the said cost, which was higher than the advertised investigation cost but the engineer had to use a camera to find exact cause. Once paid, they came back on the phone again to ask for an extortionate amount extra to rectify the problem. Totaling over 1k! Declined the work. Be cautious using this company.

Nov 01,2024Like other reviews I felt ripped off. A sink drainage problem led to a call, I accepted £120 plus vat for attendance within a few hours of the call. The problem was "diagnosed" within seconds of their arrival and the quotation was well over £500 for a permanent fix which I declined as being a rip-off. I settled for just getting the drain unblocked which was less than 30 mins but still £350. Its difficult to avoid the conclusion that this is a calculated policy, get into the house when there is a problem then use any excuse / issue to ramp up the price. The price doesn't bear any relationship the the actual time and materials used. My advice is to avoid, you have been warned.

Oct 28,2024My father in law called PM247 when they had an issue with a blocked sewer pipe. Unfortunately, he has dementia. My father in law explained that he couldn't do online transfers and would have to pay cash. When PM247 unblocked their drain, they were told that it would be £575 for the work. When they were shocked, PM247 said that he would knock £25 as a discount. They left with £550 cash for 1/2 hour work and didn't get a receipt or invoice for the work done. Tried to speak to the company, but just got as far as Scott and he didn't want to know. Couldn't refer us to a manager, didn't have a complaints procedure, please do not use this company - total rip off. Phoned again on Monday 28/10/24 to get an invoice and they told me that there was no record of attending that address.

Oct 21,2024The whole experience felt like an organised rip-off - came quickly, identified the issue and then gave ridiculous price for the work. 2 hour job priced at a days rate - couldn't accept my bank from their nominated list and then hounded me continuously to make payment even when I was in a meeting. £150 for a 15 minute consultation seemed like a waste of money. Slightly aggressive tone from everyone I dealt with - I would hate to think if I was an elderly customer - AVOID.

Oct 17,2024This is the worst plumbing company I have ever used. They charged me £144 for a callout and then quoted me £404 + VAT extra for changing a tap in a bathroom sink. When I queried the quote, they offered to reduce it to £375 + VAT. I rejected it, and the plumber was quite rude and tried to explain to me that everybody in their office needed to be paid. Avoid!!

Oct 14,2024Just be aware of call out charge £120 plus VAT . The office then informs you of additional charges when the problem i.e the stopcock tap needed replacing . Total charge £470 !!!! Plumber wasn’t there more than 1 hour after going to Screwfix to get the tap . Very, very expensive . We called out a plumber to replace our tap in Devon . Charge in total £85

Oct 13,2024Total con-men. Avoid like the plague. 100% a rogue operator that will definitely rip you off. You agree to a £144 call out, then they turn up and automatically quote a ridiculously elevated fee, so you either pay it or cut your losses and write off the £144. Complete scam.

Oct 10,2024Took £3k off my 88 year old mother for toilet & pump work plus said immersion tank needed replacing . New immersion they fitted leaked over night . 2 months of her insurance company sorting dehumidifiers , repainting and replacing ceiling of lounge below . No apology and no offer on any sort of refund . Scoundrels , you know why they want money up front and no credit cards

Oct 06,2024Call out fee £144 inc Vat but nothing is done in the way of minor repairs that PM247 guarantees to undertake inclusively. Then comes the bombshell of a massive quote of £1500. The same job done through Checktrade and cost me £250. Never use them.

Customer services polite and very efficient, all emails and text sent immediately. Job done very quickly, I couldn't fault them

Oct 02,2024Please stay away and do not make the same mistake I did. Quoted for a repair as our hot water was not working. Would not give me the breakdown of the cost of the part that needed repairing. Asked the engineer if changing this part would give me hot water and response was yes. Over £400 later part replaced and still no hot water. I even had to go to screwfix myself to replace the control unit which blew up whilst the repair was happening. Company hold no liabilty and say you have signed a contract. Stay away from these pirates! Wish I read the other reviews first.

Oct 01,2024On phoning PM247 I was quoted £144 inc VAT for a camera inspection with the purpose of finding the location of a drain and extracting a rod which had beome adrift in the drain. The operator arrived without the equipment to extract the rod but having revised the quote to £594 which I paid before he would start put the camera down the drain and defined the location of the subterranian pipe to within 200 mm in either direction. The pipe when eventually located was the other end of the garden and at right angles to where he said it would be. On contacting PM247 for a partial refund they said that they would only progress the matter if we submitted a full report from a professional company which would obviously cost me extra with no certainty of a refund. PM247 refused to meet to examine my complaint so in my view deserve do not deserve to be in business!

Oct 01,2024As other reviews highlight this company will massively overcharge. inital fee of £114 quickly turns into another £450 if drainage equipment need using which in most cases and mines it did. They did the job but very expensive - recommend get other quotes - use Dynorod other reputable company.

Sep 25,2024highly overpriced, if you want a quote you still have to pay £144. Avoid, compare other services as they will do it 75% cheaprer. I had an obstructed pipe which i clearly described in the phone call. They said it will cost me £144 and some more during the visit but the plumber needs to see it first. After checking the pipe he needed to use the specialised tool which looks like a hoover and decided to charge me £474. Now my reaction was like it cannot be this expensive, from £144 to this? I said I am only paying the flat fee of £144 and I will do it another time. I then got another plumber that did the whole work for £120 the next day in the morning. This is a very unethical pricing technique to make you pay regardless and hide the actual price until you cannot back down. Avoid, and just use a local plumber that is ethical and does not markup a 2x.
