Super cottage, very spacious and well laid out. Great outdoor space. Covid restrictions meant rather stripped back but we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
We have just returned from a fabulous week in Solva. The house is in a fantastic position and the views are amazing. All the pubs and restaurants are in easy walking distance. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. Could do with a bit of updating, especially the bathrooms, but on the whole it was very good. We were very lucky to have wall to wall sunshine and some form of canopy over the balcony would have been welcome but that’s a minor point. We would definitely recommend the house and area and plan to return again.
If you're looking for plenty of space in a wonderful lawned, enclosed garden then this is the place to go, although watch out for the apple windfalls - our labradors ate far too many over the course of a week! The property is spacious, lovely big kitchen and dining room looking out onto the garden with two good sized reception rooms, bedrooms also a good size. Now for the not so good bits ... the furniture, in particular the sofas, are extremely tired, uncomfortable and need to be replaced asap. The property smells of damp although we understand that the owners are adding a new DPC soon. The TVs in both reception rooms are a little small and neither were working when we arrived. Jane the caretaker was able to resolve this by arranging for a firestick to be delivered, although not sure how occupants without an Amazon Prime account would be able to access it. Hopefully this has now been resolved. The BBQ wasn't available to us during our stay as it had been destroyed by the previous occupants, but again I think this was going to be replaced soon. As a location Dale is quiet, but ideal for those wanting to explore the Pembrokeshire coastal path and enjoy water sports. The Griffin Inn offers great food but is pricey, also very popular so do book in advance. Overall a good experience, although we would have rated it a 3.5 rather than a 4 if that had been an option.
This is a really lovely modern, well equipped quality property for a holiday in Pembrokeshire. Location wise, it is peaceful with super views across the fields to the Cleddau Estuary and was a great central location for visiting most areas in the County. Downsides - Storage was a bit of an issue in the kitchen, as it was so well stocked there were no spare cupboards for food, and there was no wardrobe in the double bedroom. Plug sockets were also in short supply in the bedrooms, so take an extension cable….and the shower head takes some handling without a shower curtain/screen….but all these things were easily dealt with and did not distract from a super week, we would certainly recommend and return.
We have just returned from an amazing week at Plas Newdyy, North Wales. Would thoroughly recommend this gorgeous house to anyone wanting a superb break. It was equipped with everything you could ask for and more! Beautiful pool, spacious accommodation and fabulous location for town and beaches, including the wonderful coastal walks. We will definitely return! The Gregory’s.
6 adults and 2 dogs have just returned from a really lovely week at The Old Boathouse, Trefin. Plenty of space, 3 king size beds plus a twin room, 4 bathrooms, large garden and games room and a light welcoming house with space for us all to have fun together. Very well sighted for coastal walks, beaches, pretty villages and plenty of good eating establishments within half hour drive for house. We would certainly consider returning. Beautiful weather made for a wonderful holiday.
Booked Ty Fferm for a the first week of July and we have had the best week! The house is massive and has everything you need. It is on a working farm and the Rees family are incredibly friendly and generous with fresh eggs on several mornings. The location is great for exploring Pembrokeshire, only 10 min drive to St Davids. Couldn't fault anything. Will definitely return in the future.
Perfect location for visiting most of North Wales. Beautiful views from the cottage windows & garden, over the estuary & beyond. Myself, hubby & our 2 dogs really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was lovely, clean, comfortable & well equipped, we only had 1 very minor irritant which was the oven temperature was a bit iffy & hubby burnt the pizza! Would definitely visit again.
A very nice flat in a great location (though NB no parking space and loading and unloading in the narrow street can be a bit of a nightmare). The main reason for only giving 4 stars is that when we arrived the property had a very strong and unpleasant smell which gave me a migraine. It turned out to be 2 very aggressive "air fresheners", exacerbated by the heating having benn turned up to 29 degrees (in June!) and it took 24 hours with the windows open to go away. Otherwise, everything was good though I think 100% cotton sheets could be expected for the price, and there are no good chef's knives in the kitchen (which, apart from that, is well equipped). The other thing that bothered us was that there was no recyclying bag/bin and no food waste caddy. This is quite common in holiday lets but seems a real shame, especially in such a beautiful place, which makes you really want to look after the environment and avoid plastic waste in particular.
We had a lovely weeks holiday. The cottage was big and spacious but did need a good clean and redecorating, although that didn't stop us from being very comfortable and happy.
A truly wonderful house for a large family with teenage kids. Plenty of bathrooms, oodles of sitting and eating space, a huge garden, games, music and different levels to.find peace and quiet when needed! The house is well located with beautiful views and is only a short walk from the nearest beach. We even walked as a family over the cliffs to the pub in Porthgain one evening catching the most incredible sunset on the way home. We have stayed in quite a few holiday homes over the years and this is honestly one of the best. We hope to return soon!
We booked a cottage ‘Ty Mor’ in Manorbier from Quality Cottages from 28th May 2021 for a week. Whilst the house was in a very good location with a pub next door, first class restaurant 10mins walk, a mini supermarket 5 mins walk and Manorbier beach 10mins away. An ideal position but the facilities in the cottage fell short compared to the description that was advertised on Quality Cottages website. It was advertised as sleeping up to 8 adults and 1 child but insufficient seating in the lounge – One 2 seater settee although advertised as seating for 3, another 3 seater settee and one armchair. Furniture was very dirty. TV small but not a SMART TV, so couldn’t watch films, Netflix etc. Asked the owners to purchase a new TV but they refused. We had two small children, so if the weather was bad we wouldn’t have been able to watch much TV and keep them occupied. The bedroom I shared with my mum had two small single beds and a childs wardrobe with childs hangers so adult clothes fell off them! Room was in very bad condition decoration wise. NO bedside cabinets and NO lamps. Just a small lamp that was clamped onto one of the bed frames. Only bath towels provided, no hand towels. Numerous things missing in the kitchen. Property advertised as having 2 bathrooms, but only 1 bathroom and 1 shower room. No shower curtain so water splashed onto painted wall and wood surround. Shower room, no slip mat, no hand rails and fixed shower head, no shelves to hold shower gel/shampoo. Toilet brush absolutely disgusting, I wish I could load a picture of it!! Room with bunk beds – no wardrobe. If you were say a 16year old, 6’2” teenager, would you want to sleep in a bunk bed?? This room is only suitable for children! Altogether house looked very tired and lots of improvements need to be made. This cottage is NOT luxury or quality as advertised by Quality Cottages. As holiday lets have been empty for the most part of 2020, the owners should have taken the opportunity to go into the house, have the place redecorated, furniture cleaned and to do an inventory ready for the new season. Quality Cottages have fallen down on this and are partly to blame and should insist that certain standards of properties should be equipped as a matter of necessity. One small teapot for 8 adults, no place mats etc. I could go on and on!! It seems they are happy to take your money and hope they don’t get too many complaints. I have been offered a paltry £100 voucher to spend on our next visit to Wales. We have no intention at the moment to visit Wales again so a useless gift really. I’ve now received a reply from QC and it is just a fob off. They claim that the owners have purchased new property and many of the things we complained about have either been repaired/replaced. Still no SMART TV!! They have offered us a refund of £200 which we have accepted. I would just say to anybody looking to rent from QC that they look at properties with a fine tooth comb to make sure that ALL the facilities on offer as QC specify e.g. enough seating, bedroom sizes etc. to make sure that they will accommodate your family!!
Very easy booking, with Amanda's help!! Now looking forward to a sunny holiday! Ann and Peter Roberts
Wonderful cottage. Our favourite. Idyllic location and beautifully furnished inside.
We have spent a very pleasant and carefree week in this lovely area of Pembrokeshire - it was so peaceful and relaxing! Quality Cottages have once again confirmed their high standards of accomodation as all our needs were met and all our expectations fulfilled. So "thank You" Quality Cottages - you come highly recommended.
A lovely light and spacious loft area, well decorated with lots of wooden floors and features. The host was very welcoming and friendly and available should you need anything. Area outside to dine with chiminea. Beautiful quiet area with coastal walks on your doorstep. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.
The cottage is in a lovely spot though be prepared it is remote. There were lots of nice touches but the cottage smelt badly downstairs of dogs which we couldn’t get rid of. It wasn’t overly clean either with thick dust on skirtings and stairs, crumbs on chairs and table and worst of all dog hairs everywhere, even on our bedding, which was unpleasant. There were no tea towels or oven gloves but otherwise it was well equipped. The rating is down to the cleanliness, especially given they have made such a huge things about ensuring everything is cleaned and sanitised. If you don’t mind the remoteness it is a lovely place to stay.
Absolutely beautiful place ..amazing beautiful old building ..set in the most beautiful scenery ..already rebooked for next year as we loved it so much ..only thing letting it down was we found alot of spider webs and dust behind cabinets etc ...but that is my only quibble ..the welcome pack was gratefully received and very generous..and it really is in an amazing place a great base for walks and relaxation ..thank you
Our 3rd booking with Quality Cottages - would have been more but for Covid. We went to the Granary at Cerbid - what a great place. The photos don't do it justice. So much space (inside and out) for 6 adults, 1 baby and 4 dogs. A rural idyll, so quiet and peaceful, wonderful. The only downside - our men (6 feet plus tall) having to accommodate the slightly lower doorways.
